  1. Bring the car... please It's 41 miles from your house, should be less than an hours drive
  2. It's a simple test done on the coolant while the engine is running. It checks for carbon monoxide in the coolant, i.e. if combustion gasses are getting into the coolant. Any local garage will be able to do one for a few quid. Edit - too slow
  3. Let it cool down properly (overnight) and see if there is any sign of coolant loss. A basic sniffer test should let you know if there's a HG problem. It's extremely rare for one to go, but a sniffer test is an easy first check to make.
  4. What a great pic Thorin I imagine the dogs thinking "just fook off will ya, I'm trying to nap here"!
  5. Where was the smoke coming from? What colour was it? KFC is not healthy. You can't beat a bit of home cooking with proper food.
  6. It was something he mentioned at Pod. It took quite a lot of work to get it right. I think he went through 3 gearboxes before getting rid.
  7. The kit might not have cost much, but it set him back about £9k to get it running properly.
  8. No worries guys, althought pm 2nd thoughts parking will be a problem! I only have 2 parking spaces and both have cars in them.. it's not the best area so might have to have a word with the neighbours to borrow driveways.. let me know either way and I'll sort something out. No problem Dean, spectators are welcome
  9. Great, would love to see it there The club dyno day thread is here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=146150 Yep, still on for Japfest. Should be a great event with the amount of people showing interest
  10. It's not aimed at you Al, CJ and Gaz were complaining about the jokes aimed at the girl, not the mother. Still some interesting views & comments on the situation. I'll try and reply later with my thoughts (for all they're worth!) but for now have a couple of dozen PM's to answer
  11. Really good write up there, nice to see the mags make some effort these days! Going to pick up a copy tomorrow Are you still coming to the SRR dyno day on May 10th? Would love to see this car 1st hand
  12. I've had a few Crashed my scrambler badly at 10yrs old after a 20 foot jump went wrong (still got a nice scar on my chin from that!) Crashed the first car aged 11. Rolled a Vaxhall Viva shortly after realising they can't go round 90degree corners at 40mph. Luckily my dad made sure I always wore a seatbelt and used a crash helmet. Pulled the roof back into shap with the aid of a tractor and a tree, then rolled it again 3 months later (terminal that time) Crashed a Fiat Strada into a tree at 13. Best thing for it really Crashed my Vauhall cavilier at 17. Not my fault that time, was swiped by a drunk driver. minor damage and no injuries Crashed my Supra at 28 aftern losing control in a 100 foot, 60mph drift. £4000 damage Crashed my BMW 518i a couple of weeks ago writing it off. Not my fault, women driver drove into me. Apart from the motorbike accident I've never been hurt in a crash (touch wood!)
  13. Removed. And yes Gaz, I agree.
  14. I'm not posting the other one, it's pretty nasty
  15. Okay, you asked for it... Edited - Removed due to complaints.
  16. PM'd, there's no way I'm posting them! Here's a safe one: The police who interviewed Karen Matthews spoke today. They said they wanted to rough her up a bit but nature beat them to it.
  17. I'm not brave enough to post some of the ones overheard today. Especially after the fallout from my Maddie joke
  18. I have: lower drivers side arch liner, fusebox cover and relay cover however, the covers have been painted a candy purple and have stickers on them (not good condition). They're from Dudes drag car. Let me know if they're any use. Price will be favourable
  19. What a horrible bodge job they did on that shifter mount! Even TF didn't shortcut things that much! Well done on getting it all sorted, very impressive work rate too
  20. No, that won't make any difference, it'll just make problems worse when it does happens. Get it fixed
  21. As mentioned already, if it does happen take your foot off the throttle and re-apply, it should kick the valve open again. If you keep your foot applied it'll eventually blow the first turbo or cause bore wash. The 2nd one being the most serious as it means a new engine.
  22. It's highly likely to be a sticky EGCV, it's popping up more and more in the last year or two (though has been a regular issue for people since before I joined). It's not easy to fix, there's a recent thread in tech with more details: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=146357 PS: It's not a good idea to keep your foot down while the 2nd turbo isn't engaged once rpm gets over 4500rpm. It'll overspeed the first turbo with the potential for a failure.
  23. No doubt very expensive for what they! I'm seeing the same, the last 3 sets of brakes I've had have all had stuck pins, nearly always the rear ones.
  24. Just to confirm: If you take it thought the rev range it's build boosts correctly, if you kick it down from cruise (sub 4000rpm) to say 5000rpm (where both turbo's should come online) it povides very low boost? If thats the case then we know the cause.
