  1. I can't comment on the experience with a syvecs, but TRD-Rob on here had another standalone on his BPU-TT with hybrids (Apexi PFC, mapped by Ryan) and that was not very nice to drive in TTC mode. It really lacked power at the lower 3rd of the rev range, I'm not a fan of TTC mode but can't see the little bit of higher end making up for that huge loss of power in the lower 3rd, where most cars spend most of their time. It wasn't due to a poor job by Ryan (far from it, he's top of his game), it just that the TTC mode felt much the same as regular TTC, just with a little more at the higher end. Perhaps it's worth trying TTC before you go for this option, or discuss with Ryan if he can map it using sequential setup. No idea if he's done that before but expect him to not like it
  2. Thanks guys. I believe the discs are EBC and there are no rotation marking on them (Will check with Steve, who I bought them off to confirm). According the website they are on the wrong way round, bugger! http://www.ebcbrakes.com/automotive/ebc_3gd_sport_rotors/ebc_3gd_sport_rotors.shtml
  3. Are these discs on the right way round (this is the drivers side rear)? The interal vents are vertical and not angled.
  4. This. It's really not worth trying to get one off a shell as it'll get battered in the removal process. As well as Offland's thread it's also described in my build thread and several others on the forum. In summary, you remove the centre console, handbrake and obviously gearbox & auto mechanism. Drill out the weld spots on the trans plate, chip away the underseal and then remove the auto trans plate. Next, fit the new plate (it WILL need some trimming), bolt or weld it back into place carefully alligning it, then seal it up. It's not as difficult as it may sound. Edit, here's a link, it wasn't very well pictured, but should give an idea: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?139393-My-new-Supra-rebuilding-Dude-s-drag-car&p=2011470&viewfull=1#post2011470

    So annoyed!!

Can sympathise with you there mate. My supra is a bit of a beater itself, but it was still annoying to come back and fine a deep 2 foot long scratch down the front wing a few days ago. It looks like it's been keyed or someone rubbing along the wing with a bag or something, but it's the sort of thing you wouldn't do without knowing about it. The car is a bit tatty but even so, it's just damn annoying that a few people have so little care of respect for others peoples property.
  6. Yeah, I know two like that, they're on my driveway
  7. Thansk Ollie for the reply. Looks like the bugger I hit in the car park is claiming injury which is why the case is still open... winds me up this sort of thing, I hit him at 2mph, didn't even feel it and he is now trying to claim thousands for injury. I've renewed with you again on both cars.
  8. Hey guys, after a wheel bearing failed in a major way last month I've started having a look at the rear drivetrain. With the car up on axle stands rotating the wheels results in a noticable click/knock from the diff. it happens about every 1/2 turn of the driveshaft. It's not noisy and cannot be heard when driving however the click can be felt through the rear wheel when rotating it. With the driveshaft locked up and just rotating the wheels the same click is present. I'm guessing it shouldn't do this, but are there any pointers as to what it could be? I'm tempted to just replace the diff anyway as the open one sucks.
  9. Updated so far... still lots of blanks to fill in As Mark mentioned, Darrett had the fastest Supra of the day: 1/4: 10.023 Terminal: 139.5 mph 60ft: 1.5223 JamieP had the highest terminal with 146.24mph
  10. Very kind of you, thanks!! Had a good look over the rears and there are no signs of cracks, but will have the refurb place check them out properly, they have some gear that can do it according to the website.
  11. Unfortunately no centre caps Thanks again Peter, will keep my fingers crossed they are okay!
  12. Thanks Peter I wasn't aware of that issue but will have the refurb place check them out first
  13. Looking for some bits for a firends car in the scrap yard today and spotted a GS300 on the rack sporting some 18in Lexus TTE wheels, managed to get them for £130 Need a refurb and some new shoes on the rears but was quite pleased with the find! Question though.... The wheels are 18x10 and 18x8.5, but what sized tryes are supposed to go on them?
  14. Got my renewal through from Sky, it's gone up 80% again... Don't get why they keep playing these stupid games on renewal, why can they not quote the correct price each time, now I have to call them and get it reduced (or go elsewhere)
  15. Another bump, need to try and get this completed to sort out the winners so if anyone can fill in any blanks please post up
  16. Not so sure, I did mine on the dyno and ryan spotted a hose wasn't connected to the VSV. I suppose it's best to check the simple stuff first like the pressure lines are not split or disconnected (and the one to the VSV is a real bugger as it's hidden underneath the Y-peice)
  17. The dip shouldn't be there but since it's not standard it's like comparing apples to oranges. When I first dyno'd my NA it had that dip, Ryan.G found a problem with the plenum valve which was stuck in the open position, thus reducing torque at mid and low RPM. Here is the dyno graph showing before and after fixing it (on a bog standard NA). Green is after, obviously
  18. Pod have provided all the timing data from the computer, however it is listed by car number (the one they write on the rear window). Can you please help complete the following list by letting me know your number, this will allow us to publish the results and confirm the winners If possible, please also reply with your car make, engine (TT/NA/Single), and geabox (5spd/6spd/auto) Car Number Username 1 2 3 4 5 ajlittler 6 jcbtt 7 Jamie P 8 9 TT Paul 10 11 Abz 12 Monkpower 14 add heywood 20 Lui 21 John Hanton SVM GTR 22 Dreamscape36 23 25 Mellonman 26 Shane 27 28 29 Ollie 30 Scotty (originally, duplicate number) 32 Michael Jackson 35 39 40 dodec "j" 41 TJP 50 Fitz 53 Trdsupra 60 marksupra 61 ronttuk 62 Jimwire 65 66 cullcfc 67 Justin Bieber 68 michel lane 69 Trdsupra 71 tony tt 78 79 100 qwarrior 101 102 103 106 monsween 110 Ross C 111 Darrett 112 115 120 Mark (non-CM) 121 122 neil 125 126 jcbtt 127 gavin.starr 128 Jurgen 180 301 Scotty 11111 abz CC1763 CC2057 FWD8 J14RGN Jurgen K969ROR L442XLL L525WGK M624BNO N871JRK Darett RN55VYF STR158 Mark Newman STR8 Jeff Ludgate Yellow R33 GTR
  19. I'll be working on this over the week, new thread coming up later as I'll need driver numbers from everyone (the number the Pod offcials put on the back of your cars)
  20. What great pictures! Congratulations
  21. Sorry Daman, read your reply to late and stuck an order in for a 3770K (slight change), but changed down the ram for 2133 simply because eclipse didn't have the 2400 (not that it seems to make any difference real world after some looking). Thanks for the advice though, I do get where you're coming from and it's very sound
