  1. That Supra you just bought could look like that with a little work... ...once it's cut up, scrapped and you buy a new shell to work with
  2. Homer

    My New Supra!!

Nice find that and a great price, congrats!
  3. Lol, always a mistake doing that Craig I drove a club members single turbo Supra today, easy to forget just how fast/fun a well put together single is!!
  4. Ah, nice one Adam, I better update my gear ratio spread sheet
  5. UK Spec 6spd 3.133 UK Spec auto 3.769 (Not sure if the auto's also had the big diff...) *Edited, the first one was wrong*
  6. I will be joining the convoy, not sure I'll be able to make it in time for the breakfast but hope to make it for the convoy First one for years and I'll be a in Supra for once (even though it looks like a dogs dinner)
  7. I also have this plug on my NA 5spd (It was TT originally, but this is part of the NA engine loom). It's not used on my one either. Could it be one for the secondary fans that some cars came with? I think one is for the AC and maybe one for auto box cooler
  8. I owe Sky an apology, turns out my premium went down this year, not up (I was looking at the wrong renewal letter). Thanks for the message Ollie and hope you accept my apology. So, with that clarified, I'm happy with the quote once again and like I said I renewed with them anyway since the service is excellent.
  9. Not a fan of the front lip, but that does look very nice indeed. Absolutely like the wheels, they really make the car
  10. I had this when I rebuilt my current Supra. Pull up the boot carpet, remove the spare wheel and then the top tank cover. Have a drive around and see if there's any fluid leaking from the joints or rubber pipes (it'll evaporate quickly, so best to do after a drive). There are a couple of hoses under there that can perish, very cheap and easy to fix if that's the cause.
  11. Usual story, they provide a renewal with a ridiculous premium, you call them and they reduce it a fair bit. I did end up renewing with Sky a couple of weeks ago, even though the price rocketed by another 18%. They couldn't explain why, even though I'm older, doing less miles, returned the car to stock and car crime rates are massively down. Cheaper quotes were available but I went with Sky again as I've been really happy with the service otherwise. There was also a charge to add my partner to the insurance, a further £56. Not happy with the price, but very happy with the service. If it goes up again next year I'll be taking my business else ware. Sort it out please Sky. why play these games every year with your regular customers? You'll be losing my business next year if you don't start playing fair. It's poor ethics and business practice for any company that wants to succeed long term.
  12. Good stuff, thanks Dean. Hope to see you there
  13. Dean, I'm hoping to make it to The Falcon for breakfast, but can't say for certain yet. I've moving house the same weekend so we are not sure yet when the exchange will take place. Is it likely to be a problem if we just turn up on the day?
  14. Thanks for the 'x' hun, makes it all worthwhile
  15. Jspec TT 6spd 1993: VIN: JZA80-0001648 Chassis: E-JZA80-ALFQZ From memory but I checked on the VIN plate decoder and it checks out as the correct model. Also sent you a txt with it on (hope that's still you current number otherwise someone random is going to be very confused!)
  16. Ah, then that will be an issue with coolant flow/air lock, not the heater matrix control valves. Back to where you were then, just wanted to check Good luck and keep us posted
  17. Actually, it doesn't. Tried it years ago, a 2.25in system made no difference to the torque curve compared to 3in on my car, it lost a little power in the low end after changing to 3in.
  18. The single turbo setup can actually be a little smoother than BPU if you do it right. It's got a smoother torque curve but to get it right is where the trickery is at. There are aftermarket sequential setups available but they are extremely expensive, much more than the usual single or twin turbo upgrade. The stock turbo's can be changed with new internals, but then you still need to do the fuelling, ecu, etc. It makes more sense to just go down the single route rather than try and get that last few HP from the stock sequential system. I did my old single conversion myself and it still cost over £8k, that was starting at BPU and with a V160 6spd. Getting to BPU power levels (400bhp) is very cheap, getting to 450bhp is expensive, going above 500bhp is serious money. especially if you have an auto.
  19. Sorry, but do you mean they are blowing hot and cold or is it swinging between the two? There's a few known issue with the heaters which won't be related to the bleeding. If you can clarify I might be able to offer a few suggestions
  20. This. Twin turbo's are much more expensive than single turbo and with your power goals twins would be fairly pointless IMO. The single route is the most cost effective way to get over 500bhp, but then as mentioned almost everything has to replaced exhaust side along with fueling and engine management. You'll need to make sure you have at least £6k available to go from BPU to single. This does not include the auto box mods and you WILL need to do something about the box (either go for lots of coolers and try your luck with the standard one, change to a manual box or go for an uprated auto box like the boostlogic).
  21. Nice find and love the attention to detail. I can see this is going to be a great car once you're finished with it! Love the pikey filling method, I will have to give this a go as I've had all sorts of problems trying to get the system on my car bled properly
  22. Had a few PM's about this - As Scott says, don't worry about the shop saying it's out of stock, we will get the cap removed tomorrow once Steve is online. Try again tomorrow, you'll get your tickets
  23. lol, I may just do that! I'm getting ready for a house move and found it on the hanger a couple of days ago. The other half nearly wet herself when I appeared in the kitchen with it on
