  1. Haha, thanks Keron. At least you tried as well
  2. Does anyone know if this is owned by someone from the club? I recall seeing a similar plate at some meets on a red UK spec but can't recall if it was exactly this reg... I'm not chasing down someone for a grievance, just curious if anyone here owns this plate
  3. FYI: When I weighed my old stock spoiler it was 2.8kg. Nice job Toyota Your one I'd easily add 10kg, most likely more with all the bonding material. 40kg would be a reasonable guestimate.
  4. Properly functioning UK brakes are very powerful and are still strong compared to high performance cars even these days. They don't have the best 'feel' in my opinion, so it might be they didn't try them in anger.
  5. It looks like a stock Torsen diff to me. The TRD (at least the one I have in the same casing) doesn't have the slanted sections in it.
  6. The NA auto I drove once did feel a lot slower than the manual version. My current NA 5spd isn't quick by modern standards but it picks up fairly well below 70mph. One thing to look for is the butterfly operation in the inlet manifold. There's an actuator in the inlet pipe that keeps only one branch open at lower RPM then opens the 2nd branch around 4k rpm. Some goons wire this open with the mistaken belief it makes more power (or in my case pressure pipe to the actuator had become detached). You should feel a bit of pick up of power around 4krpm when the actuator opens, if not, have a look at it. With the actuator not working it caused a big drop in torque in the low and mid range. My thread about it is here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?230114-Lack-of-power-NA I'd suggest you try and get it on a dyno to see what sort of power it's making and to check the torque curve is looking healthy. You may also get chance to play with the timing (via the distributor cap) and this can release more power when setup correctly.
  7. This is one thing I was unable to verify entirely. The diff ratio differs even between so-called official sources. I'd like to know if anyone has any evidence to support a different ratio.

  9. Thanks gents My wedding and moving house is done with, at last! After a club meet this weekend and seeing some very nice cars it's time to get back to this lump of metal on the driveway running again The car still starts perfectly and has held all fluids over the past months. However it chokes itself out with over-fuel after a few minutes. I suspect a MAF issue, but there's other more mechanical issues' to solve first. Now that the driveway is cleared a bit I hope to get the car up on blocks to get the transmission out and get the w58 in. The only issue is sourcing a clutch pedal and assembly, I can't find one anywhere!
  10. What a great day out! After a crazy busy year it was so good to see old friends and meet some of the new faces. Events like this remind me what a great club this is and what a friendly but diverse group of people we all are! The BBQ at The Falcon was awesome and a very relaxing place to catch up with people after the event. As always, many thanks to Darren, Amanda, Branners, Steve, Dean and all the others involved in organizing the event The wife took hundreds of pictures from the day, some of which I'll try and post here tomorrow.
  11. This makes perfect sense mate and sort of what I had in my non-technical mind. I'll cross the 2nd lambda off the list of problems. Back to the drawing board but thanks to all for the input
  12. I can get you the part number for the OEM one, but it'll likely be very expensive.
  13. Thanks Ric, I also just found the right info in the manual, it does have 2 lambda sensors. Hope this is why may car is over-fuelling, but I have reservations as I can't believe the 2nd sensor has such a huge input to the readings, I'd expect it to be used for fine tuning.
  14. Could be I'm getting confused then. I know all supras have the cat heat sensor, but for some reason I've got it into my head the UK's had 2 lambda's. Think I'll go get the manuals and see if there's details of the UK spec...
  15. I've been trying to solve the overfuel issue I have with my UK engined facelift car. I can't so far find any electrical issue, so had a thought today it may be related to the lambda sensor. I remember a long time ago something about the UK being different and having a 2nd sensor in the 2nd cat pipe, is that correct? The car has been de-catted but the end decat does not have the 2nd lambda fitted. Cold this be the reason for the overfuel?

    Hole in floor

That one is "58137-24010 SEAL, FRONT FLOOR HOLE", it's listed as $6.09 on the toyodiy parts website
  17. To answer your question directly Jamie, Yes, they are both 3.266 on the jspec cars. Euro cars had a different ratio which is not documented on the NZ site.

    Hole in floor

Long time, no speak. The attached pic should help, there's a few different grommets, if it's one with a short number let me know and I'll get the full one
  19. Great, thanks Benjy. I'm converting to manual so none the auto install issues. I've removed a manual box from a supra before, but not an auto.
  20. Perhaps a simple question, is the removal of an auto box the same process as that of a manual one (aside from the clutch lines and the loom connectors)? Are there any extra things that need to be considered? Any fluid leaks to watch for and so forth?
  21. Got my renewal through, it was cheaper than last year by a good few quid. Sky called me a few days later and I asked them to reduce it so they knocked a few more £ off I think mine was £60 less compared to last year, so all in all I'm a happy chap. No one else could get close to them price wise.
  22. Bump for this in case there's any interest. My wife and I are going on the Sunday. Shane, are you still in? Would be good to meet up if you're around!
