  1. St helier? What the actual F? What actual purpose could you have for a car like that on that island? How often could you get it on the mainland to drag strip it? I can see why you'd end up selling something like that if you lived in the Channel Islands I just can't fathom why you'd build it in the first place
  2. "People" also renege on servicing their car because of the price of decent oil or put reasonable tyres on performance cars but happily drive down to macdonalds to cruise around a car park do some burn outs and act the cock then think nowt of the cost of the fuel and burgers consumed at said event
  3. Yours went when it was mine with my mrs driving. Fortunately the only issue was no power steering and wacky flashy dashy distracting her.
  4. A couple of bolt in bars in the roof area for when the roof is out might fix the jelly wobble aero tops suffer with the roof out. I remember once parking mine with the front wheels up a lump and I had to back the car up as I couldn't get the roof back in. I perceived an increase in rigidity on my aerotop with a brace fitted but wether that was placebo effect or not I don't know. How would you quantify it anyway?
  5. How much do you want for it then? http://clubaristo.net/forums/showthread.php?22655-Renault-coil-clips&highlight=Renault+coil+pack
  6. Saw some seriously chimped up motor last weekend with yes you got it the super duper EMIC mod I couldn't even work out what car it actually was other than a hatch back of some variety
  7. You can't take the piss out of his car as its not been on the road for four years so no-bodies seen it
  8. Same part on Renault meganes as well!
  9. I think we've both done well then as I didn't pay that much for a fully resprayed similar specc'd aerotop
  10. I've had that but it was down to the filter not being threaded properly. Took it back to Halfords and got a new one and another 4 litres of magnatec!
  11. How many people have forgotten to put the sump plug back in after an oil change and got themselves wet feet? Pretty much a whole 5L can of oil before I noticed it the time I did it.
  12. If it's not a daily then try around all of the classic insurers. I think mines with Lynbrook and it was pennies. Hastings is another one. A-Plan do classic policies too.
  13. That turbo is gimungous!! Gotta be 90mm
  14. It all depends on where you are going and who with. If you consider driving positions my wife has shorter legs and sits under the steering wheel with her nose pressed on the windscreen so there's stacks of room behind her when she drives. I have gangly legs and drive in a very laid back poise so there's no room behind me when I drive. I can lift the steering wheel and utch my seat forward to make room. Passenger side surprisingly has less room as the glovebox area and the ecu and other gizmos under the carpet cuts the room down on that side. I've had two large chaps in my old car one of whom was 20 stone and 6'11" the other 16 stone and 6'2" but we didn't go far so speed display removed the requirement for comfort. Now we drive two adults up front with our two kids in the back and in reality legroom isn't amazing but good enough even on long runs. Headroom is going to be the first issue methinks. To surmise if you need to get people from a to b then you can do so but I'd rather ferry around in my 530 estate especially as it's faster than her supra lol!
  15. Umm would appear that Hydrogen technologies as they currently exist are disputed as being snake-oil where-as the benefits of water meth are well known.
  16. BOOOM! and I called that out!! Stands to reason that Toyota would not completely redesign everything ground up and stands to reason that if VW enabled newer engines to fit back in older cars then Toyota would be no different, lets face it the 1JZ-GTE is cross compatible and the 2JZ_GTE fits in 1JZ-GTE cars ie MK3 supes then I would properly think that a 2JZ-GE would be a cheaper fix for a 7M-GTE fix. I reckon a decent 2JZ-GE in a Mk3 would be the bollox and wouldn't bust a gasket every ten minutes.
  17. What is hilarious is that in the states the majority of cars were aerotops and they weld them solid to go drag racing I imagine actually that if a hardtop is cut right and strengthened correctly then all is ok. Lets face it if you can get a road legal certificate for a monocoque old school mini roof chop then a supra should be easy.
  18. That had crossed my mind as the power seems to be speed related not engine rev related I'm either chronically un-aerodynamic or something is sapping the power. I get a vibration from the back that manifests itself in and around the 90-95 area as well so I suspect a back caliper isn't playing ball. I am just putting together a new UK spec front end may end up having to go with the back end as well.
  19. Funny I was going to ask pretty much the same question only mine is an N/A. At 90 leptons plus it really drags it's heels and once I found a private place to test the limiter it was a ridiculous job trying to get it above that. Mine seems to pull OK low down but like the OP when it starts to get above 60 the power appears to peter off. I am in two minds on wether to spend money on new leads, distributor etc or just leave them until the winter and get a TT transplant. Problem is I might end up leaving it another year though so if there is anything cheap and easy to look at would help.
  20. I picked up a pot of wax based leather balsam off of the Bay that is E called NAF professional..Official suppliers and endorsed by British equestrian teams. It does absolutely transform your leather seats. The supras seats looked grey (to be fair the car had been in a body shop for a while and there's a lot of grey/brown dust in those places) but the seat looked two tone on a couple of bits I missed on the first run at it. My beemers seats nowhere near as old benefitted massively from a feed as well bringing out the black in the seats and making them look hugely more healthy. I suppose if you consider what your shoes look like after wearing them for a few weeks without sticking a bit of polish on them then it's hardly surprising if seats that are in concentrated sunlight and extremes of temperature constantly and rubbed with various friction clothing deteriorate if not similarly treated. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NAF-Leather-BALSAM-500ml-TACK-SADDLE-LEATHER-BALSAM-SADDLE-SOAP-/201122899562?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ed3dbe66a
  21. Baldy did a very good on the car I bought that he painted.
  22. Is this the one I almost bought years back that was a chop job from hard-top to aerotop with no supporting paperwork on how the conversion was done? UHUH been and read the original thread that is definitely the bad boy that had the roof cut out in Japan. http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?89277-To-buy-or-not-to-buy&highlight=roof Thread from when I was going to buy it from Japan
