Would love to know where my red L reg T88 supra went, a guy from accrington bought it but never seen or heard anything about it since?? shame cos it had massive potencial Mike
-
NP just a shame it costs about £1800

I had a drive of my mates car with the RPS carbon/carbon in and it was lovely, ust like a stock clutch and can handle 1000 bhp!! cant be bad the HKS triple was one of the reasons mine was un-driveable just wish i knew then what i know now and i would have changed it and kept the car lol Good luck with it bud Mike

yeh the red one has won a few jap shoot outs with a low 10s and the silver one shouldnt be too much slower not sure about the wing on either
-
I had the greddy/trust evo put on my skyline and IMO the nicest sounding exhaust on the market and you will struggle to find a better made one as well well worth it Kirbz

anyone know what the silver one with the funny wing ran?? as i nearly bought it
-
Ahh the infamous Jun Lemon again another "proven" 9 second car which yeh your right never ran right and Mick has had to spend a fortune to get it right and it still hasnt got into the 10's in this country...so far I think Keiths R32 is going to be running a GT47 or similar

this was not a US bashing post but from experience the bhp quoted by them is alot more than anywhere else with the same spec. we are catching up to them with the old 1/4 mile but like i said the race strips in the US are ALOT better prepared than over here, ive heard that shakespear is pretty well prepared but ive never been there. it does make me wonder why you bring a car from japan with a 8 second 1/4 mile proven record wont even make the 9's over here as many people have found out!!! take the top secret R33 which is back up for sale!? i know the skyline world is looking very good for this year and will be getting really close to the best in the world, how are the supras doing? (not a sarcastic question by the way) apart from Dee do we have any other big supras running? from my own point of view i would really like to run my 300zx and make some good times, the fastest 300zx in this country so far believe it or not is a high 12 second run!! so i hope to get in the low 11's and hey who knows even the high 10's Mike

i started to type a full response but to be honest the thread is not about all this so i wont just to say back in response to the original thread it looks an amazing meeting and its a shame we dont do more interclub meets in this country to get some really tasty machines together Mike

like a few other cars he only ran in the 1/4 and top speed and not the handling track which to some which includes me to a certain degree doesnt really make the car "the best" as it should be of all 3 events?
-
I believe there making a few rule changes this time and making it very hard for someone only running in 2 events to win it but i guess that will also effect the likes of Dee as well? i think a dark horse this year will be Ron Kiddell as he runs in the 9's a good top speed and always does well in the handling track

hang on a minute, yes i have spoken to Keith a few times and yes he gets his labour cheaper from a UK tuner but all the stuff he buys for his car are from his own pocket and yes he sells t-shirts mainly to fund the race fuel and petrol to get there?? crd are a tuning company and the supra is their project car and i'm sure they can put alot of its development and parts etc down to tax etc and i believe ronnies car has been rebuilt and will be running again this year. I'm not knocking them i think its great we are now getting to a stage where we are competing with the US and Japan. i only mentioned Keith because what he achieved last year was amazing and hope he can do it again

LOL tbh what ever my car produces when i get my new ECU mapped i will be happy with and if i get 600 rwhp i will be made up but its what it does on the 1/4 mile which is a true reflection of how much power and torque the car has and when you look at a car going down in sub 10s its as much to do with the driver as well so the likes of Dee and Keith cowie etc i have BIG respect to. on a lighter note this year should be a great year for racing in this country and i expect the likes of Keith to be knocking on the mid 8's which will be a great achievement bearing in mind he is a plumber and pays for it all himself and i'm sure the new norris evo will get close to the 8's as well and lastly the duke R33 which is a low 8 second car is here as well Mike

Dont get me wrong i have major respect to anyone who can tune a car to over 600 rwhp as its alot harder than people think and to make it reliable is even harder. I thought the calder supra was running the T51 turbo which if it was the SPL is only rated to about 900-950 bhp so again i think 1200-1300 bhp is a little optimistic but no doubting how quick it is. I also think alot of the probems over here is our 1/4 mile tracks are not prepared well enough but in the US there very well prepared. What i just cant understand and i would like someone to point it out to me is when i manufacturer like HKS says how much power and boost the turbo can produce, that is its max which i presume will have been done on a bench test but i seriously doubt if any cars could produce the same power and boost from that turbo as its got different loads on it? Also before it starts looking like a huge book there was a car linked a few days ago saying it had well over 1000 rwhp and had 1000cc injectors which is not possible?? i know NOS is also used but still?? Like i say this is not a bash at any of those figures and being a car lover and jap car owner i take my hat off to anyone who takes the tuning to that level but its like the cars in japan they come over here with BIG names/Times/BHP but there never produced over here?? Mike
