I don't think 2 2" pipes will give you the same flow as 1 4" pipe the area of a circle is pi * (radius to the power of 2) a 4" pipe would have a radius of 2" and the area the air would flow down is 12.56" a 3" pipe would have a radius of 2" and the area the air would flow down is 7.06" x 2 pipes 14.12" a 2.75" pipe would have a radius of 1.25" and the area the air would flow down is 5.94" " x 2 pipes 11.88" a 2.5" pipe would have a radius of 1.25" and the area the air would flow down is 4.90" " x 2 pipes 9.8" a 2" pipe would have a radius of 1" and the area the air would flow down is 3.14" " x 2 pipes 6.28" Of cause flowrates won't follow these areas exactly but you may have to use 2.5" or possibly bigger pipes to get an equivelent flow to a single 4" pipe?

Having looked at them again (hey I got a torch out and everything, they look like the Zinc plated Steel Goodridge hose ends. So they are probably not crimped.

Pretty sure they are actually on the car so it was hard finding a place to put the magnet where is wasn't near the chassis, but it stuck to everything. Yes they are crimped end fittings. Leon Green does the whole set for about 60-70 pounds

I got my braided hoses from Leon and they are all stainless steel, just checked with a magnet.

Sounds like the stock system, waht you almost want is an oval pipe.

If they ask tell them the ends aren't stainless, just new one yesterday. Rich

How much are they quoting you for the discs?

Visual inspection by Leon is probably the best way to go with those ruled out.

Is there any chance it could be rubbing against the inner arch material at full lock, after springs have "settled" they sometimes end up ma little lower then when first fitted. Look for any wear marks. If not it could be a noisey power steering system, but that would usually happen forward or reverse and even at full lock standing still.
