  1. Happy Birthday Abz, all the best.
  2. All the recent talk of carbon arches got me thinking about this project. Anyone know the latest developments with the project?
  3. I think the number plates says it all. Ute Burnout
  4. Looks great, Lee. Nice to hear members helping out too. Best of luck with everything, I can only see it getting even better for you. No plans for a ramp to make life easy for yourself?
  5. It's going to get more common now the cars are starting to age. I've replaced a couple in the past (thread somewhere on it), quite a susceptible unit, even more so on an uncared for vehicle. The system has its advantages, but as Chris says, I would be more inclined to stick with the simplicity of pre-VVTi engines if planning large mods.
  6. Happy Days! I was present at all of them videos. The dyno one was especially funny when Guy's floor started to smoulder His face when it wanted to fire itself out of the dyno was quite amusing too.
  7. Sun for Xmas sounds perfect to me, enjoy.
  8. Yup, quit 3 years ago after smoking for 14 years and haven't looked back. Best move I ever made. I did it the old fashioned way, and best way IMO, good old will power. It can be tough at the beginning, but the prospect of tasting food properly and having clean lungs is definitely a good payoff. Hang in there, you'll wonder why you ever started soon. You'll also have some more cash in your pocket too;-) P.S Keep busy, it's when you're sitting idle and thinking that the craving will hit you the worst.
  9. Here's hoping it doesn't fall down my way, hate the stuff.
  10. You're very welcome, David. Happy to help in anyway I can. Glad to see you decided to put a build thread up for this; very much looking forward to seeing the results from all the hard work. Now, why isn't it in the project section?
  11. Well, erm, it's definitely different.
  12. No, you're not alone on that one.
  13. Yeah, that and the blue containers seemed familiar. Didn't twig it until this morning, bit slow me.
  14. I've only just realised where your last picture set was taken, Dave. I could've got some practice in with the camera if I'd known you were only a minute up the road.
  15. Best of luck with whatever it is.
  16. They used to be a popular wheel with the VAG/Ford guys, and their forums suggest they are selling anywhere between 400-650 for an immaculate set with tyres.
  17. That they do, but it'll be the real world results that'll interest me.
  18. They are Azev A. I have the exact same wheels, all be it diamond cut, on my MK2 Golf.
  19. Good stuff. I'm sure you have it covered, but make sure your entire fuel system is ethanol safe should you decide to take that path. It's going to be good when you're done.
  20. That might be your only option if you go down the E85 route, PITA for a road car though. Morrisons used to sell it, but I believe they have removed the pump from our nearest one now. Not teaching you to suck eggs, but sit down and decide what your goals really are. Simply choosing the biggest of everything isn't always a great recipe for a nice driving car.
