  1. So according to the manual, 192 psi or more is the compression from factory, but anything above 156 psi with a variance of 14 psi or less, is still acceptable?
  2. My last compression test results were pretty high but upon further examination, there were no signs of any issues. Results below: 1 190 psi 2 190 psi 3 195 psi 4 195 psi 5 190 psi 6 192 psi
  3. They're knock-offs, so they'll inherently suffer from the usual; random freezing and laggy menus, failing motors, poor screen resolution and poor sound quality. When it comes to head units, you really do get what you pay for.
  4. I have the 9200dab in both my Supras and it's an awesome unit. If you want quality, Pioneer is light years ahead of the game at the moment.
  5. You may well do, in which case I would be mindful of two things: 1. It may be illegal to have it installed in your jurisdiction, which will normally lead to your insurer voiding your policy, if they were to find out of course; and 2. If your car is a manual, for goodness sake, do not leave it in gear when you park it!
  6. The 650 requires an additional remote start module for it to work. It may refer to remote start in your instruction manual but it may not actually have it fitted as it is an optional extra.
  7. Thank you for your kind words Scooter. I am somewhat embarrassed as you have felt compelled to take the time and invest the effort to step in and say all of this in an attempt to tackle this negative and toxic vibe. For that, you have my gratitude and thanks. It's a new year and a new decade so let's all make an effort to get along and try and move on.
  8. Contact Paul at TCB, he is usually able to better the prices from Toyota.
  9. Just be mindful that it is also considered illegal in the UK and your insurer will likely void your policy if they find out you've got one installed.
  10. Oh my, what I would do for a door handle! The random part out of a jug sounds more and more like what actually happened right?
  11. They do tend to crumble when you remove them though... so that's probably what actually happened and they just ended up binning it assuming it's a cheap replacement.
  12. Don't think I've ever seen one fail unless they have been damaged maliciously or during an accident...
  13. Only time will tell bud. But given their recent antics, I won't be holding my breath. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst...
  14. Yes. Like any commercial business, they will follow the money.
  15. Only time will tell... but ultimately I think the only thing that would really upset my assessment is the pricing of these parts. If they have a massive "classic car part" tax slapped on to them, it may well be worthwhile the small scale manufacturing process... as for actually going ahead with it, I think Toyota may have actually realised the magnitude of the missed opportunity, that is the MKV, and this may just be a nod to the original Toyota Supra customer. You are on to something here Scooter, and it's the timing of this whole thing. Do they read this massive hike in prices as an indicator of the type of customer and potentially a way for them to tap into that market?
  16. Toyota hasn't remanufactured anything yet, the irony is the heritage program itself is rather speculative.
  17. I guess it would be easier and cheaper to pull the plug on manufacturing door handles than it would be for some of the big ticket items on the list...
  18. Why did you get that feeling? The primary reason for the significant hike in value has been the US market's newly found ability to import cars from Europe and beyond. The secondary reason will naturally be the abundance, or lack thereof, of these cars. As they are no longer being manufactured, there is only one way their numbers can head, and that's down, for various reasons of course. Take any small quantity item, add a pinch of desirability and you have the perfect recipe for an appreciating asset.
  19. Why would it? The number of Supras will not increase. This would be something to consider if they start to manufacture the entire car again. The availability of parts may actually serve to add value to the car. However, the prices of these parts would not naturally correlate to the value of the car.
