  1. Curious - why were the DCT clutches upgraded? The stock M3/4/M2C clutches are proven to hold in excess of 900nm of torque. It’s not necessarily a bad thing that they have been upgraded, just curious as to the rationale behind the decision...
  2. Anyone fancy going to Santapod after the lockdown is lifted? Tickets can now be booked for RWYB and DWYB events starting in April! If a few people are interested, this may make for a decent day out to celebrate the end of this particular lockdown... Let’s goooooooo!!!!
  3. That’s because Nissan actually cares about the GTR legacy... Unlike Toyota who seemingly just sold it to the lowest bidder.
  4. I just love seeing people like Steph Papadikis try so hard to make people like them... in fairness, it is working to a certain extent in the States where the hatred seems to have withered a little. But, there is obviously an underlying commercial motive behind these actions which is noteworthy.
  5. The words “scatty” and “all-over-the-place” come to mind when describing the J29 Supra’s handling to be honest. Not a fan at all.
  6. The pandemic should be effecting all cars in this category equally; however, this does not appear to be the case. Reality is, most people would rather buy a BMW M2C or the F8X BMW M3/4, which are currently in the Supra’s price bracket (or below it in the case of the M3/4), they all come with a real “M” engine which is fully forged from factory and are incredibly engaging to drive by comparison.
  7. That’s because Toyota had to shrink the FT1’s remarkable proportions to fit the Z4 chassis they were ordered to use by their bosses at BMW. Have a watch of my review of the J29 Supra on YouTube. Although the one I drove was modified, it left me feeling uninspired. In this day and age, it’s stock performance is mediocre at best and it’s handling dreadful. The back end seems to have a mind of its own, and not in a good way; tugging from left to right as one accelerates with even a little intent. It not only looks awful and disproportionate, but feels worse than its German sibling to drive, and that’s saying something considering the Z4 was never really a “driver’s car”.
  8. Traditionally, the Z4 is probably the most unpopular BMW in the range - though, happy to be corrected! Come to think of it, neither have I... I’m not surprised though considering the horrendous sales figures.
  9. Not hard beating the Z4 bud... lol
  10. The use of the reference “A90” is little more than a poor marketing attempt to associate the J29 with the MKIV “JZ(A80)” Supra... officially, the chassis code “J29” is followed by “DBXX”, that specifies the model, which is a BMW naming architecture. See the “Model codes” heading here for reference.
  11. No buddy, it uses the BMW code “J29”. Have a look here.
  12. Excuse you Mr!! I remember you calling me greedy for having two!!
  13. That’s interesting actually, thanks!
  14. That’s cunning. At least they can now demonstrate that the project was a catastrophic failure and self-justifies being shut down.
  15. Was it available on the J29 or has that been added to the promotion recently?
  16. What a start though, who doesn’t want door handles and brake boosters...
  17. The lag is only there to give the manuals a chance...
  18. This. Especially when we all know the autos are faster...
  19. Agreed. I don’t mind it. Shows the car still gets attention...
  20. Well, not to rehearse what has already been said about the J29 being a BMW, but most BMW “M” cars don’t tend to hold their value very well, let alone it’s “half-way M” cars like the “M340i”, which incidentally shares its engine with the J29 Supra. I would have thought the GR Yaris would still sell like hot pancakes, given all the positive press it’s received and in spite the current climate? For them to include it in such a promotion, so soon after its launch, I feel highlights somewhat of an underlying issue at Toyota...
  21. Wow... didn’t realise the GR Yaris was part of the offer! Has Toyota somehow found itself in financial trouble?
  22. 0% finance on a relatively new flagship model is pretty much unheard of in the automotive industry...
