  1. So, providing John and co are happy with these proposals? I'm sure we'll be able to generate enough noise, both figuratively and literally, to get noticed by the actual decision makers. Then and only then, will they take us seriously and stop treating us like a typical bunch of internet heroes. I suspect the vast majority of these publically available contact details simply filter through to teams of senior complaint handlers, but they, I imagine, would be able to escalate any urgent and/or serious matters to the senior leadership team. Gotta love red tape and the corporate veil!
  2. Out of interest, did you get a response from his PA or did you simply get a response from a glorified complaint handler?
  3. These email addresses are more or less public knowledge in this day and age: Paul Van der Burgh, Toyota UK MD - [email protected] Akio Toyoda, Toyota Japan President - [email protected] James Lentz, Toyota North America CEO - [email protected] I think we should arrange a 'global' convoy and put these executives on notice via email. If this doesn't yield a positive change, nothing will.
  4. That's utterly pathetic. If we want to be able to enjoy our cars in the future, I think we will need to take some sort of tangible action sooner rather than later in order to yield the result we are all looking for... perhaps even arranging a mutual date with all the Supra forums from around the world to do the same? Now, that would be something!
  5. That is quite helpful actually... thanks bud.
  6. I agree 100%. But what exactly did they sell out for? The Prius?! Perhaps we should organise a convoy of the finest MKIVs in the country to drive to Toyota UK, along with banners and signs with our demands. Such a palpable presence will certainly draw the attention of some of the senior executives tucked away in the building... I think, given the unusual circumstances, it is going to be up to us, as owners, to wave the flag here.
  7. If you look at the design and the materials used, the Apexi, Blitz and K&N all appear to use the same materials with almost identical thickness. Such a disparity in the test result is therefore something I cannot readily comprehend. I'm sure the Apexi filter is a capable filter, I just don't see how it could be much better than the rest, with the exception of the HKS, as it uses a sponge type filter unlike the others. I've personally used all of these filters over the past 11 years or so, including, admittedly, the HKS filter without any issues, ever.
  8. Why do you think that is? I think most would agree that this is actually quite appalling coming from the manufacturer behind one of, if not, the most iconic 90s sports car.
  9. Yes indeed, or a physics-defying design.
  10. Perhaps so. However, it's most likely just a marketing stunt to boost poor sales vs the offering from HKS. I find it hard to appreciate these tests which simply do not appear to conform to scientific constants and completely fail to explain the methodology used; if you want more filtration, you need a more restrictive barrier, the more restrictive the barrier, the more power you would expect to lose...
  11. Logic would dictate that a filter with strong filtration qualities would naturally be more restrictive than one with less filtration qualities. Yet, in this test, Apexi appears to defy physics in that it is not only the best filter in terms of filtration capability, but also the least restrictive!
  12. Sponsored by Apexi? Those tests were quite futile I think and most of them were sponsored by one manufacturer or another. I've never heard of someone sustaining engine damage as a result of debris flying through the air filter, have you?
  13. I think you're thinking of the HKS mushroom filter bud...
  14. Sorry bud, this got sold yesterday.
  15. It is a rather large item and space is currently at a premium following the arrival of a new member of the family. If I could hang on to it, I would. No one likes throwing money away...
  16. I'm going to end up throwing this away if no one wants it, what a waste that would be...
  17. Only the spare wheel and fastener remaining now...
  18. Have you seen the state some of those cars are in? Even then, they still appear advertised at thousands of pounds more than our cars... If those cars were advertised here, I would expect them to be sold out of somewhere in high wycombe... If I approached Toyota's headquarters, they'd probably tell me to get lost. However, if the club approached Toyota, that may yield a more engaging response? As these cars become fully fledged classics, this sort of information will become paramount to future insurance claims and insurance valuations.
  19. He's having issues signing in I'm afraid. Drop me a PM with your number and I'll pass it on to him.
  20. Admittedly, I'm not in tune with the Australian market, but after a quick search on the Australian Autotrader, it would appear that we are lagging behind them too... I don't see production numbers changing, at least not post-2002. A global register sounds rather unfeasible. A centralised register of frame numbers sounds like a catastrophe in the making!
  21. Try again in about half an hour. I'll drop him a message.
