  1. The main problem is that the teams themselves don't want close racing as that is the worst scenario for them. They are trying to get a car from A (the start) to B (the finish) in the shortest possible time, hence the number of strategists and sim programmes used these days. Getting involved with overtaking or defending against another car just loses time and is to be avoided at all costs. It's all down to the mathematics I'm afraid so if you want to watch live sums on TV, try giving the OU channel a try. You may end up with a degree
  2. I think it's unlikely that the Mercedes (Brawn) will have the advantage it had this year and also that MS underestimates his teammate Nico Rosberg. McLaren will have to supply a car for two drivers with totally different driving styles, Renault have lost interest, so not great news for Red Bull either and it's difficult to see any huge steps forward from the existing teams (bar Ferrari) or the new ones joining. Alonso has to be the nailed on favourite for the Championship for me. He beat MS in 2005 and 06, is without doubt the quickest guy around, and has no.1 status and the resources of Ferrari behind him. Should all be over by August
  3. Will the comeback still be up and running come Silverstone time? I may well be proved wrong, but I think not
  4. Snap On 3/8'' drive 9.6 volt impact wrench and 14 piece socket set from 8-19mm and 21 and 24mm on a socket rail. Works well but really will need a new battery (about £60 from Snap On but surely cheaper elsewhere). Charger and plastic carry case included. £120 - which is about what the sockets would cost new on their own
  5. Indicator and wiper switches. Two wires have been cut and re-soldered together. Never used so no warranty! Free to collect Warning lights from the right side of the dash. These are the ones which sometimes get dry solder joints. Not tested but practice your own soldering skills . Free to collect Orange side repeaters, enough said. Free to collect
  6. Kato 1/43 Supra model in storm blue. In plastic display case and original box £25 Castrol SRF brake fluid. The best you can buy bar none. as used by McLaren, Renault and Williams. £30 for 1 litre, £50 for 2 litres. Full spec here Ok now the free stuff Stock front bumper in storm blue. Has had the gauze for the radiator bonded in. Lower rubbing strip needs refixing. Free to collect Stock SMIC. Has seen better days, but has no leaks and could get you out of trouble. Free to collect. Plastic trim for n/s rear wheel arch. Free to collect
  7. Everything collectable from Beccles Suffolk. Will post small items. Ok - the not free stuff first Stock rear spoiler in storm blue. Would need repainting if it was going on a car of mine. £15 Full set of J-spec brake calipers. Worked perfectly when I took them off. Re-furb them and put them on your car when you have finished. £30 Stock aerial. Bought from a member here who assured me it was in perfect working order. I've never tried it, so if anyone wants to take a punt. £15 Stock door speaker covers. Nice condition, no holes or rips £20
  8. I tend to think that 100% of the people who socialise at the local pub with their friends can no longer smoke in there. Statistics eh?
  9. Complete stock Toyota exhaust from manifold to tail pipe, including both cats, from sub 30k mile 1994 J-spec TT auto. I bought this a few years ago to keep as a spare but never used it. Would probably cost all four limbs from Toyota and too good to scrap for the cat value. £150 collection only from Beccles Suffolk
  10. No longer have the real one so this might as well go as well. No box but in good condition. Best offer over £60 by Friday evening takes it. (No silly 1p / 20p increments please )
  11. He drove in the same team as HHF in 1990 for Eddie Jordan in Camel sponsored Reynards. They had three cars that year. The other one was driven by Emanuele Naspetti, who had a nasty accident in Donington at the first round with Alan McNish which took the life of a spectator when the engine and gearbox of one of the cars ended up in the service tunnel. Chris, there was a yearbook published in the early years for F3000. There are a few pics of your car in the 1991 book, and also all the results from the season. There were probably not too many printed, but you may find one at one of the motorsport book specialists.
  12. Brands of the World You can download these in eps format and get vinyl cut from these files. First pic looks like it was taken in Enna, Sicily.
  13. Having seen the onboard with Button, Barrichello and Alonso, none of them lifted. They know the rules and got what they deserved.
  14. If you look at most of the punishments meted out by the FIA, they normally reflect the circumstances of the accused rather than the offence that was commited. McLarens core business is F1 so they were easy prey for a big fine and the loss of the previous seasons points. The last thing the FIA wants is for Renault to leave F1 especially after losing two manufactuers in the last year. Apart from running two cars themselves, they also supply engines to Red Bull and all the the cars in the GP2 feeder category plus WSR 3.5 and all the Formula Renault series. If they had received a hefty fine all they would do is ramp up the costs to everyone they supply to recover it (and more, probably).
  15. Even so, most insurance companies will ask for convictions for the past 5 years, so you will still have to declare them.
  16. Have you got her out in the rain today? She wont be used to that Thanks Danny and the other guys for the kind comments. It was a difficult decision to sell, but I hope you enjoy owning the car as much as I did. My membership here doesn't expire for a while, so I might stick around for a bit.
  17. Have you tried here? Or maybe just get in touch with Lisa - she has probably got a garage full of them

    Sick Heil

I gave up at the start of paragraph two where it said 'Sun investigation'
  19. I passed the place on Monday afternoon and stopped off for a quick look round. Didnt see the black one, but the silver N/A was outside. Filthy interior, 'bodykit' which was badly fitted, cracked, and falling off in places, yellowest headlights I've ever seen, and someone has tried to lever open the drivers door with a screwdriver or something similar. On the forecourt for £6995
  20. Ah - fair enough. Hope it turns out to be a good one.
  21. Have you checked this car out or just put a deposit on something you have seen through a showroom window?
