Hey, I put my beloved Soarer up for sale. Only 24hrs left on eBay. I have just had a new MOT on the car, needed new front discs which I had done, otherwise no advisory's. It's a very rare example, other manuals come up but most are conversions and not made in the factory. Contains lots of rare parts I've collected over the years. Overall in perfect condition the car is worth a lot more. I've had a lot of px offers but I'm not looking to px. For the asking price I will include my spares. Approx £150 in oil engine/diff/gearbox, bigger injectors and walbro fuel pump and anything else I find between now and then. Anyhow here's the link, thanks for looking. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302404134999

I've used Noble for just some basic servicing, they always seem nice, professional and I'm always happy when I leave.

Breakdown Cover for vehicles over 15 years old!
Suprachargedtt replied to Safely Insured's topic in Insurance
Complete cover here is cheaper and cover older cars no issue... http://www.autonational.co.uk/autonational/breakdown_cover.jsp -
I ordered complete refurb kit from Rockauto.com which included the pins etc, however they do sell individual bits, delivery from them normally takes a week which is good from US.

- False, I had been dealing with your company by phone quite regularly (Approx 20 phone calls) but while I'm at work I obviously cannot deal with this, it was in fact you that firstly emailed me and I have just replied to them. - You say this but this is the first time anyone has ever mentioned this 'bolt-on' even exists to me, have you listened to the call in which I took the policy out? In this day and age a car is such a vital part of day to day life i highly doubt if i was presented with this option it would have been refused. Even without the 'bolt-on' you have sent me an email which states my policy entitles me to a loan car!! - Yes I agree, however it was not my fault that the garage had a backlog of work and were unable to fit me in within this time, no one ever said to find a garage that can have the repair completed within 28 days, I was told simply to find a reputable garage which I did, a reputable garage will always have a backlog of work - I thank you for your efforts however after dealing with your 'Customer Services' and being told there was nothing else he could do I decided to put my experience on here and your Facebook wall, isn't your job title 'Marketing, Media & Public Relations' as signature in your email? so am I right in saying without people like me airing things in public you wouldn't have a job? The parts were never an issue, I have a breaker at the end of my road, he is actually one of the companies that you contacted and in fact is the person who recommended the garage I finally went with! The main issue I had, out of the garages I contacted was that no one wants to work with fibreglass any more, that is what I was being told. - Sky knew the car was in the garage, I spoke to Simon 9am in the morning and told him I would be dropping the car down, he was due to call me back about the loan car situation and them taking it which he never did, 5pm'ish I then had to call to chase him in which he was unable to speak to me but I had a lengthy conversation with one of your girls again informing them the car had been delivered to the garage - I appreciate that you have tried to help but suggesting to find another garage isn't really going the extra mile is it BTW the email you sent me to my private account, I can rip apart by 'the facts', just like I have in this response here, but I cant be bothered anymore....

Chris, thanks for your reply on here and again I'm very appreciative that Sky are trying their best and all I'm saying is that its simply not good enough. The solution suggested to me in an email was to... pull my car from the garage at where it currently is, to maybe another garage that could do the work sooner. As pointed out the car is in an illegal state to drive (smashed rear light) so this would be completely impractical, but yet it seems this is what Sky is encouraging me to do, even if it was drivable when am I supposed to find the time to run around finding more garages? What if I get stopped by the police? All I wanted was a Loan car to see me through the time until my car was back from repair, on a fully comp policy one would assume this is standard procedure but with Marketstudy this doesn't seem to be the case. Right now as it stands if someone had called me when they said they would have then I could have let them know the garage has already started work on my car and it will be ready for collection this coming Saturday. I'm not on here to damage your business, we are an on-line community and I'm just warning fellow members of these issues. I have been 'Waving the Sky flag' for over 10 years now recommending you to anyone that asked me who did I use for insurance (which is quite a few people), but sadly I don't feel like waving it any more.

Im also having issues with Market study and would never renew with them, im also unsure if i would use Sky again as even though they have tried their best its still not good enough- ill try and keep this short! I had an accident which was my fault, early morning countryside, sheet over ice road, nothing I could have done. Car suffered a dented rear wing and smashed rear light, all cosmetic but illegal to drive because of the light. 1) I contacted Market study, the underwriter who didnt know the car was modified even though Sky have a list of mods and everything was fully declared. 2) Because of the mods/bodykit they said right away that id have to find my own garage as in their words 'its a specialist car and their garage wont touch it'. I explained that my car is illegal to drive as it has a smashed rear light and any garage will want to see the car before they quote, I was told it wasn't their problem and that this was my responsibility. (Why am I paying specialist insurance if I have to do the leg work?) 2) I was told as the accident was my fault I wouldn't be entitled to a loan car. I obviously didnt accept this as paying Fully Comp you would expect a loan car. After many phone calls Sky managed to sort this for me. 3) I had to wait 2 weeks for an engineer to come out and asses my car to whether they would accept the quote or Write it off, this was terrible as my car is my only option to work and I was forced to continue using it through this time even with a smashed rear light. 4)The engineer came out (and was very nice) then the next day I get a call to say I can have the loan car dropped off. I explained I didnt know what was happening yet whether a repair or Write off but as my car was not road worthy they insisted that I was to take the loan car and it was ok to keep it until everything is sorted. They said if I need it for longer they would extend the hire period no problem. 5) Over a week passes and I hear nothing, so I had to phone Marketstudy. The first person said they are waiting my documents so they can pay me the Write off, I was shocked as I wasn't expecting this. I then speak to a 2nd person who says the quote was accepted and my car is being repaired and to speak to the garage. 6) The garage have a back log of work and said that they will be in-touch when they can get the car in. I chased them each week but they were just unable to get me in. I then get a phone call from the Hire company wanting to pick the loan car up!! I explained my cars not even been repaired yet and I was told I can have it as long as was needed. I was told that Marketstudy want the loan car back. The hire company said they will speak to Market study. 7) 4 days pass and I then get a call from the hire company to say Marketstudy want the car back and I am liable to pay for the extra days ive had the car!! (Im obviously refusing this and im still fighting this now as it wasn't my fault they took 4 days to get back to me). 8) I speak to Sky who said they would speak to Marketstudy about this. I get a message from SKY saying that Marketstudy have spoken to the garage and the garage say they have been trying to contact me for 3 weeks to get my car in and as its my fault causing this delay they are pulling the hire car!! 9) I spoke to the garage who confirmed this was a lie and they never said this 10) I then I spoke to Sky who said they would speak to Marketstudy about this, and to get my car to the garage ASAP as even if they cant start work on it, it will help with the case if my cars in the garage and Sky will be in-touch once they have spoken to Marketstudy. 11) I get no phone call back from Sky and again had to chase them to be told they are taking the loan car back now because i've had it long enough for the repairs to have been made and that Marketstudy cant be held responsible for the garages delay to current work load. They said that there was nothing they can do and altho they appreciate now the delay was not my fault Marketstudy will not go back on their decision. So as it stands I currently have no car to get to and from work and I'm being charged for the loan car for the days they delayed in getting back to me. To use public transport for work would mean id have to leave home at 5:50am and I wouldn't get home till approx 10pm. This is obviously one whole messy saga and im now being forced at having to pay for my own loan/hire car. Sorry for the long post but i cant urge people enough to stay away from Marketstudy. I believe Sky have done what they can but it really doesn't help me in this current situation.

As the title says Many thanks James

This is on a 1jz and it has to be connected to front and rear turbos...
-
The reason it took longer was of how he did it, instead of joining to an existing hose he replaced the whole lot properly, it meant instead of squeezing his had down the back of the rear turbo he actually took extra bits out to enable the hose replacement as I had nice thick reinforced fuel hose to use instead of some poor quality silicon... Im happy a good jobs been done

Just an update I went to Slide motorsport and i am VERY happy! Matt @ Slide did a great job, he could have cut many corners but he didnt even though it made the job alot longer! He took real care in the work that he done and treated my car as if it was his own, it helps as hes a real enthusiast rather than 'just a mechanic'. Best of all even though by Matt taking the extra care it took him 4 times as long to do the job and he stuck to the original quote no quibbles! Even though they are a bit of a drive from me (Chesterfield to Pontefract), i think ive found my new garage! Thumbs up Matt, Great job!!
