  1. I was driving my J Spec TT Auto home earlier when I noticed that the Overdrive off on the dash started to flash perodically every couple of seconds. This had not been engaged by myself, when I did turn this button on, the O.D Off light stayed on as it should. When I turned it off again it started to flash perodically again. This lasted for a bout 5 minutes then it sorted itself out. Whilst this was happening I did not get anyother warning lights showing there was a problemand the rev counter did not change or jump as if the car was jumping from 3rd to 4th and back to 3rd as the dash display was showing. This is probably nothing but very odd. As anyone experience this before on a J Spec TT Auto. If so I would be very interested to recieve any news to what this could be. Thanks Oh yeh just purchased some pucker 19" Braid Interlagos with 275/30/19 Rear Tyres and 235/35/19 Front for my Sup. They look the business filling the arches up with a 19"x 10" rear wheel. I got the polished rims, anyone know of some decent products for cleaning (removing all the ground in dirt) and polishing.
  2. Pete thanks for the advice, a couple of questions though. * Taking into account my existimg mods, what level of boost would I be running at the moment. Also could you clarify the following. I noticed sometimes boost is measured in bar and other times PSI. what is the difference and is there one. * A fuel Cut Defenser, I have heard that these are bad as they only disguise the detonation and dont stop it. By having one of these on you are stopping the ecu from doing its job and risk blowing up the engine. Is this true? I have recently had my plugs replaced with TRUST Racing plug No 8, are these anygood and do they meet the required spec you mentioned. Man thanks Vaughany
  3. I am looking to purchase a Boost Controller for my J-Spec TT. Is there a particular make/model that is recommended and do I require anyother eqpt to run the Bosst Controller safely on my car. Just out of interest what boost can I run safely on the car before I need to purchase safety mods etc. My current mods are as follows. Blitz Nurspec R Exhaust 2nd Cat removed HKS SPF Induction kit In Increasing my boost what gains in BHP can I expect and just out of interest, what boost will I approximately be running at the moment. Cheers
  4. cheers, I will pass this info onto my man, hopefully he will be able to sort it out
  5. I own a J Spec TT, when it was brought it into the country they placed the Fog Light at the botton of the Bumper which looks s**te. A friend of mine who knows a bit about electrics etc carried out a Fog Light Conversion for me. The setup is as follows. * Tail Light next to the indicators are now Brake lights and Tail lights. * Tail light next to the Reversing lights are now Tail light and Fog Light. (no longer a brake light) A couple of questions, is this the correct setup or does it not matter which Tail light you use as the Fog Light. The problem I have the Geeza has never done this before on a Supra so its a bit of trial and error. Unfortunately the Brake Light warning light now comes on as soon as I put my foot on the Brake. All the lights and bulbs are working as they should be. I can only imagine that when you detach one of the Brake lights and change it to a fog light, you must have to isolate the sensor so the car does not pick up that the Brake light is no longer a brake light and wont register a fault. Is this correct and if so, how do I do that and what should I be looking for. Cheers
  6. Glad I could be of assistance, the noise is annoying is'ent it. Hopefully your problem was the same as mine and can be remedied easily by changing the clips around. Good luck
  7. How is everyone, a couple of days ago I posted a thread reference "Brake Pad Retaining Clips" and which way round they fit in the caliper (UK Brakes only) I am glad to inform everyone who is interested that the clips can be fitted either way but it will make a difference when you brake. If you fit the clip with the V SHAPE of the clip to the top of the caliper you will hold the pads to the top of the caliper alleviating any clonk noise when braking forwards. However the noise may be present when you brake in reverse. (This is much more tolerable than the noise when going forwards). Likewise if you have V SHAPE part of the clip at the bottom of the caliper. You will hold the pads towards the Bottom and may get a clonking noise when braking forwards but not present in reverse. All this aggro is because the pads have a little bit of play in them and they slightly move in the caliper. I have now changed my clip around so the pads are held to the top of the caliper alleviating the annoying noise I was getting whilst braking going forwards. A trip down to JPS Motorsport today ensured that I got the correct info. Brakes are now fixed and whilst I was there I purchased a HKS Super Powerflow Induction Kit which I fitted this afternoon. Looks good and sounds great. I hope this post will be of use to somebody.
  8. I am off to see him tomorrow but I thought if I could solve the problem then I would save both mine and his time. Cheers anyway
  9. Can someone help me with this, I have recently had my front Brake Pads changed. I noticed that I was getting a clunking/knocking noise when I was braking. This noise only occurred when the car was going forward and was absent when is in reverse. I was informed from a BBS Member that the Brake Pad Retaining Clips may have been put on upside down. I have changed these around and the noise only happens in reverse now. Is this as it should be? The clips are now on with the V shape part of the clip at the top of the caliper with the point of the V pointing out and the top clip hooked over the the top caliper pin. Is this how it should be or have I put this on wrong. Could someone please explain to me the correct setup of how the Brake Pad Retaining clips should go in. Unfortunately I did not change the pads myself so I didnt see the original setup. Youre help in this would be most appreciated, should there be a noise when braking in reverse or is there still a problem. Cheers for the help
