On the left hand side of the engine bay (if you are standing at the front of the car facing the engine) there is a fuse box that contains large fuses for Traction Control I think. Can someone tell me how many fuses this should have in it. It looks like it should have 4 but mine only has 3. As you look at the box from the right wing, the top left fuse is missing. Is this a spare or something, I have not noticed any problems so if a fuse should be there, god knows what it does. Anyone help me with this? Cheers

yeh I like it, the Taffia it is. Speak to you again Mr Jones

Your right, your not a lesser being. We are all equal but some are more equal than others. This applies to Supra drivers being far more superior than all othe road users. Dont worry the welsh are alright, well I have to say that, my old man is welsh hence the name "Vaughan"

You dont like my phrase then, it is something that is from my Army Days with Supra replacing another word. As for the Homepage, I did,nt put that on, so not sure where it came from. Anyway deleted it now and put something on there that will help my brother out. I liked the phrase, it shows that the Supra is up there with Gods other great creations. Maybe this is to much for you lesser beings! Well dont worry, I will educate you Only joking!

Thanks for the advice, has anyone had a look at the strut brace that are advertised on ebay. They look alright.
-
Hi everyone, what is the score with using ebay and do the members recommend it. I have just been on there and they are advertising the following Strut Brace for Mkiv Supra TT - $7.50 Down pipe - $105.00 I know you have to pay shipping, insurance etc but it sounds cheap. Have any members used ebay before and what safety measures do you recommend when using it Thanks

Advice please I was reading this on a previous thread refernce changing gear whilst in Manaul mode on a Auto. It stated that when driving in manual mode you should take your foot off the throttle when changing from L - 2ND - D. Is this true, i have been keeping the foot to the florr when I change up through the gears. I thought this method would be quicker etc so more speed would be reached much quicker. Please tell me this true, otherwise have I been causing damage to the gearbox etc whilst changing gear while the accelarator is to the floor. This question never really got answered on the thread. Some said you should takre your foot off, some said you can leave it on. At the strip, what do the Supras do, surely taking your foot off the accelarator you loose power and ultimately forward momentum. What do we think and what do we/should we be doing Thanks

I dont get my soop out often for a hard drive so yesterday I took it out for a good run. My J-Spec has had a performance mods such as uprated plugs, Induction Kit, Nurspec R and the 2nd Cat removed. The Soop is just short of 1 Bar but yesterday I was driving hard and the Boost Gauge was showing just over 1 Bar. So guess what happened, yep fuel cut cut in and killed the car. Me being so impatient I phoned and left a message for Pete explaining what happened. I was'nt expecting him to phone me back as it was Sunday but he did. We discussed the problem and Pete said I could bring the Soop down tomorrow to get it sorted. So I arrived at Thor early on monday morning and Pete diagnosed the problem as the fuel cut. He changed the stock fuel cut for his own unit which allows 1.25 bar safely. We done a power run to check everything was fine and that the problem had gone. Well It was, all my fuelling is good and the Soop is back running sweet. Well chuffed with my power figures, 325 rwhp and 331 ft/lb of torque. Not bad for a car with the 1st Cat still in and no manual boost controller fitted. However these will be next. Enough of the waffeling, Big thanks to Pete Betts and to Thor Race Engineering. Top job at a price that is right .Oh yeh he also sorted the loose connection with the engine management light and the ABS light that we all have, (Well I did) THANKS AGAIN

Cheers Chris If you dont mind, I will contact you in the near future so we can discuss my next steps to achieve more performance. Thanks again

Thanks for the advice everyone. The difficulty is that everyone has a different opinion. I am thinking about forgetting the ECU upgrade and going the other route. cheers

James Oh yeh I am driving a J-Spec Cheers

Hi James Thankls for the quick reply, just a quick question. Do I need to remove the 1st cat if I decide to fit a mappable ECU and if I dont what effect will this have on the car. What I want to achieve is raise the boost but get the correct fuelling etc and keep the car safe without any of the downfalls etc. Can this be achieved with a ECU upgrade or do I need to go the common route of Boost Controller, First Cat out, Fuel cut etc. My car is only running just short of 1 bar and I want to rise this to 1.2 bar. Can this be done by just removing the first cat and fitting a restrictor ring to stop over boosting. If this is the case why does everyone fit a boost controller? I know they allow you to turn the boost down but why do that if the car does'nt go above 1.2 bar. James I think I'm right on some bits and wrong on others. Please let me know what you think. Many thanks

I have just had my soop lowered so I definitely want to get the wheel alignment checked out. Does anyone know of a place that does this in the Northampton area. For you lot that dont know where this, it is junc 15 on m1, near Milton Keynes (JPS) and not to far from Warwick (Thor Racing) Cheers

Hi everyone I need abit of advice, I have done the usual mods, exhaust, Induction Kit, 2nd Cat out. I am now looking to progress further. I am aware that the next option is first cat out, fuel cut, boost controller raising the boost to 1.2 bar. Total price in the region of £1200. However, this is where I ned the advice, would it be better to miss all this out and just purchase a mappable ECU such as Motec system. I know this is more expensive but I have been led to believe that this is better and safer for the vehicle. Can anyone spread some light on this. I know with a ECU, the car will have to be remapped everytime I want to adjust the boost. I am thinking though that I could just run the optimal boost all the time. If the car is mapped correctly then there will not be a requirement to lower the boost etc due to weather conditions that may effect the boost pressure. I was talking to a gentlemen who builds rally cars. This is what he suggests as he said that the car is totally reprogrammed to run efficiently and safe all the time. Please let me know what you all think. Cheers

Chris Thanks alot, you have saved alot of hassel and phone calls to Eibach. Cheers again

I have just bought a set of Pro Kit Eibach springs for my Soop. I'm sure it will become apparent when I take the old springs off but the springs are not labelled etc so I am unsure which springs are for the front or rear. I am sure the mate I have asked to fit them will know as he is more clued up on motors than I am. So just out of interest for the members who are running these springs or for just the people who know. Which springs are for the front and which springs are for the rear. The springs are different lenghts and one set are more compacted at one end. Help appreciated as I dont want to mess this up, I spoke to Eibach, they told me they would be marked up HA or VA with HA being for the rear of the car. Unfortunately when I got them ther was no HA or VA on them. On the springs it had 8222.001 and 77312 on one pair and 8222.002, 97808 on the other pair. cheers for the help if anyone knows

I am looking to get my Soop lowered. My question is what springs are best, I was thinking about Eibach. My car is on 19" alloys and has a Nurspec R Exhaust that sits quite low so I am abit worried about speed humps etc. I think the Eiback springs lower the Soop by about 30mm. Should this be okay, what is everyone else running with the same setup. Cheers

Excuse my stupidity but where is the Trac fuse. I have checked everywhere I thought it would be. Please help, and how could this affect the Overdrive off so it is flashing on the dash when the O.D Off Button has not been engaged.
