  1. I have recently fitted a restrictor ring to my car to keep the boost under control as I have recently had the first cat removed. The restrictor is holding the boost at about 1 bar now, without the restrictor the boost was peaking at 1.4bar. Rather than get a new slightly larger diameter restrictor made. Can I just file down this restrictor a bit to enlarge the hole so more boost can be reached. The current restrictor is about 2" diameter and without the restrictor fitted the diameter was 2 1/2" as this is the size of my first cat pipe. I was thinking that if I increased the diameter of the restrictor ring from 2" to 2 1/4" this would hopefully raise and hold the boost at 1.2bar ( Desired level for my J-SPEC on stock twins) What do you think does this sound about right? I would appreciate if this dilema could be answered asap as I was going to give it a go tomorrow morning.

  3. Hi Supragal, I know this is a separate post but have there been any developments with the 2nd Club Clothing buy. Kind Regards
  4. No worries Chris, I will send it again
  5. Thanks everyone for the info. I have made my mind up and I have decided to get Mr Wilson to fit a kit for me when I have the Ist Cat removed. Thankyou for the constructive opinions. Chris did you recieve my email regarding the date I would like to come to yours? Cheers
  6. Sorry Heckler, I posted again before I saw your reply. You are obviously in favour of the Kits and I have spoke to Chris Wilson who recommends them aswell. I am hoping to get a few more opinions before I make my decision. I like the idea of lowering EGT especially as I will be running 1.2 bar soon. However the comments regarding dodgy pumps does give me cause for concern. thanks
  7. What are we saying then, they are no good. Surely someone must have a good experience of these kits. Dude, who is T and what is the info on the kit he is using. If they are no good, maybe I will have to take the £320 and put it towards the 650cc injectors and the SAFC 2. What do we think? would this be a better buy? Just out of interest what is the cost of these items for supply and fit from Vortex.
  8. I have just booked to go to Chris Wilsons for the fitting of my 1st Deact Pipe and a Restrictor Ring ( 2nd Cat already removed) I am thinking about having the ERL Aquamist Kit fitted the same time to complement my Chris Wilson SMIC that I already have on the SOOP. I am not entirely sure what the benefits of these kits are but I am led to believe that this with Uprated SMIC should bring my cooling efficiency close to being on par with a FMIC. Has anyone on here used these kits before and if so what are there opinions on them. The Kits are £320 + fitting, is this money well spent. I am not sure if I need it at the moment but I am planning for a Budget Single conversion from Vortex in the future and thought this would aid in my preperation for this. I would be grateful if someone could explain the use of the kits and state there opinion if they have one on how good or bad the kits are. I believe you can run the kits striaght from your screen wash using a mixture of methanol and water. Cheers
  9. Supragal I recieved my stickers this morning, many thanks.
  10. Hi everyone, just need some info on the following. I was wondering what the recommended fluid change intervals are for the following. 1) oil - Every 3000 miles 2) Auto Transmission Fluid- Sump exchange 2litres - ? 3) Powersteering Fluid - ? 4) Brake Fluid - ? thanks Just out of interest how would you change the Power steering fluid?
  11. Terry The fitting of my 341 has already been done, am I likely to experience any problems if a 341 is fitted instead of the 342. The flowrate etc is the same I believe so once fitted as long as it is secure would I be correct in saying that I should'nt experience any problems. I would hope that Envy will get on this post and explain why they are sending out 341 for J-Specs when they should be sending out the 342. thanks
  12. Cheers dandan Thats a relief as I have had an ICE install done since fitting the fuel pump. I did'nt fancy removing this unless I really had to. I am surprised though that some traders are supplying the 341 for J-Specs if the 342 is would be a better option. thanks again, you have saved me a job and a headache.
  13. Terry Can you clear this up for me, I purchased a Walbro 341 Pump from Envy for my Jspec TT. I did'nt fit it but a mechanidc did, all he did was replace the old pump with the new and a bit of soldering a I think and it fitted fine. I have had no problems with it that I am aware of and has been on the Soop for a few months. Being a J-spec, would it of been better to have the 342 instead of the 341? Cheers
  14. Hi Supragal I did'nt recieve my stickers etc when I joined 1) Vaughany

    Hello

Hello Prawn How are you, glad to see another Forum member from Northamptonshire. There are about 5 Forum members from Northants now. Where exactly are you from, I live in Northampton, drop us an email sometime so we can hook up. Excuse the pun. Cheers
  18. Fuuny you say that but a bloke in my street has just bought a 1994 J-spec Supra RZ in silver, thats the colour of my car, 2 the same colour within 100 metres. The bloke is nice enough and I have already spoke to him about the club and the mods for the car. Now this is the surprise, are you ready for it. He told me he paid £5000, yeh £5000. Not bad for a TT RZ with Advan Racing Alloys, Uk Brakes and a HKS exhaust. Admittely the car needs a good clean but for £5000 that is a bargain, if he spends another £5000 he will have a pucker Soop f10,000. Bloody hell I hope he was lying about the price but you never know but £5000 did sound very cheap. I to looked on the Auto Trader and I only saw 1 or 2 High milers RZ for £7000 - £8000 so I dont have to start worrying yet. I think the prices are dropping but not that much, anyway I am not planning to sell my Soop so I am not bothered about the price. The only problem I can see is that they may become more common. When I bought my Soop 11 months ago there was only 1 other in my town i think. I now know of 5 or 6, I think all prospective sellers need to drive the prices up, dont be tempted to drop the price for a quick sell. Supply and demand, the more demand the higher price so start high.
  19. Thanks Dude for the advice, I will investagate the problem further.
  20. thanks for the info, is the top timing cover easy to get off. I have never done this before so have not looked to see how you remove this. Is it case of just unscrewing bolts etc or is it more complicated than this. thanks again
  21. I have noticed a clicking/ knocking noise coming from my engine bay. It can be heard when the car is in gear but stationary and i turn the steering wheel. On investagation it looks like the top part of the Drive Belt Tensioner is vibrating/moving causing the noise. I have checked the drive belt and that looks in good order and the markings on the drive belt tensioner show that the indication mark falls between the three lines on the tensioner so that seems okay Does anyone have any ideas what needs to be done to rectify this or has anyone experienced this problem before. Do i need to change the drive belt or do I need a new drive belt tensioner? I was going to take the car to Toyota but dont want to be ripped off by them buying loads of bits that I necessarily need. If i am changing the drive belt is it worth changing the tensioner aswell or vice a versa. Cheers
  22. Thanks for the info everyone. So the chances are that I wont be able to hear if my soop is suffering from DET. The car has been dynoed and the fuelling is fine so I am hoping that everything with car is good. If I am unable to hear the DET without specialists equipment, is there any other way that you can tell if you are getting DET. Does the drive alter etc, can I take the Car to a tuner who will be able to test for det using Headphones etc. If so does anyone know of one in the Northamptonshire area. There is a company called G Force in Aylesbury that I believe have a rolling road and all the necessary eqpt to test for Det. Has anyone used them before and what is their opinion of the place. I have been lead to belive that they specialise in Porsches and Imprezas so not sure if they will know anything about Supras. Thanks
  23. Hi all Camn someone please clarify the following for me as I am not entirely sure. 1) What is detonation? 2) What causes it? 3) How can you stop it? 4) How can you tell if your Supra has it? Thanks
