    Lunchbreaks?

I belive if you work 6 hours you are entitled to an unpaid break of 20 minutes. More than 6 hours you are usually entitled to 45minutes to 1 hour lunch break. However all of this should be stated in your contract/terms and conditions of employment. With regards to the use of DSE (Display Screen Equipment) your employer should carry out a risk assessments on the use of these. They should provide other duties throughout the day so you can have a break from using a computer. This will alleviate eye strain, back pain and repetitive strain injuries and lower limb disorders. Please read the following, this has been passed as law and employers are meant to adhere to these regulations. I believe if you have an eye test and the findings say you require glasses, the employer should contribute to the purchase of these aswell. If you can prove your health has suffered as a result of the employers unsafe work practices, you can claim against them. For many years the employers have been exploiting their employees to improve their profit. YOU HAVE RIGHTS - USE THEM The Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992. The main provisions apply to display screen equipment (DSE) 'users', defined as workers who 'habitually' use a computer as a significant part of their normal work. This includes people who are regular users of DSE equipment, or rely on it as part of their job. This covers you if you use DSE for an hour or more continuously, and/or you are making daily use of DSE. Employers are required to: Make a risk assessment of workstation use by DSE users, and reduce the risks identified. Ensure DSE users take 'adequate breaks'. Provide regular eyesight tests. Provide health and safety information. Provide adjustable furniture (desk, chair, etc). Demonstrate that they have adequate procedures designed to reduce risks associated with DSE work, such as 'repetitive strain injury'. Hope this helps, remember your health is at risk so dont let them bullshit you with "We dont need to do that"

  4. What are the standard widths SZ -R? Are they the same as the TT, if so Alex, 8" will not be wider enough. Speak to Ibrar at Pro-Alloys or some of the other traders on here, I am sure they have some decent wheel/tyre packages available.

  6. I think it looks PUCKER mate
  7. Markie , you are a star, you were righ, I blew the tail light fuse when I connected the Fog light incorrectly. I did'nt even know there was a fuse box in the Drivers footwell. Thankfully all sorted now, you saved my life because my missus is now talking to me again. She was not happy at the prospect of me working on the car all day especially as it is her birthday tomorrow. Cheers
  8. I will have to have a look at it in the morning, I hope I have'nt done anything serious. Thanks for the advice, I wil sleep on it and I hope the CAR FAIRY fixes it for me whilst I am sleeping. thanks
  9. thanks mate, this has totally done my head in, I have checked all the fuses and they seem fine, does this sound possible that the fog light not being reconnected properly could break the circuit tot he rear lights and the front fogs?
  10. I took my dash off today to tidy up my stereo install, I disconnected all the connectors including the connections to my rear fog light (J-Spec TT with import Fog Light) Tidied everything up and put it back together, I thought job done until I noticed the following is'ent working * Rear Fog Light * Front Fog Lights * Front side light in front indicators * Rear Headlights All other lights, brake lights, indicators, main beam and front headlights are working but not the above. I think it has got something to do with the rear fog light connectors. I have 3 wires that connect to the fog light switch, unfortunately the wires are not traditionally coloured (they are off white, white and green) and I thought I new which way they went on (but obviously I dont) the fog light switch has the following on the box, POWER, GROUND and ACC (this shows a picture that looks like a light). one of the 3 wires and connectors connects to each one of these and hey presto evertyhing should work. Has anyone got any ideas, does the above problems sound like it would have anything to do with the Fog Light switch ant the connectors to it. Please advise me on what I am to do to sort this problem, I suppose I need to test which wire has power etc then run this to the power connection but how can tell which wire is the ground (earth) etc. This has done my head in so someone please help me cheers

    mat h

I would have to agree - Matt and the rest of the blokes at Sextons ae top geezers. Matt just fitted my RLTC and was very helpful regarding further mods advice etc for my Soop. Cheers Matt, the car drives much better now and I feel much more confident in planting my foot to the floor now. Many thanks
  12. Excellent, I cant wait.
  13. Yeh I have a J-Spec, I have already spoke to Ian refernce mapping when I was going to get the hybrids and he said that would be fine. Leon is going to map initially then I will ask Ian to fine tune for me. With the single on, are there any other issues, does the car start, drive much differently when just tinkering about?
  14. I have the Emanage and Profec E01 combination. I have been imformed that this will work well. What setup are you running Alex?
  15. Thanks everyone Paul, as requested you have first dibbs on all you mentioned.
  16. A couple of weeks ago I posted thread called "BHP on Hybrids" the thread got alot of views and some interesting replies. I asked what BHP could be achieved on Hybrids and if they are worth it considering they cost about £2000. There were some for and some against, the opinions that stuck in my mind were the people who have had hybrids and have now gone single. If I can remember correctly they were all in favour of the single conversion and felt hybrids were not worth it for the money. After a week or so deliberating, I have made my decision and have decided to go SINGLE. I was undecided between the Boost Logic Kit or the PHR Kit. After alot of thinking about convenience of fitting, costs and looks. I have decided to purchase the PHR Stage 1 DBB Kit, the kit looks pucker and supposedly is good for 600+BHP. I live in Northampton so it made sense for Leon from JPS to source the equipment and fit it. I am hoping the kit will be fitted within the next 4 - 5 weeks. As a result of this I will soon have a lot of bits for sale, these will be posted in the "For Sale" section once they are off the car but at present just guaging interest. * CW Uprated SMIC - Been on the car for 5000 miles - £400 * CW 1st Cat Replacement Pipe - Been on the car for 6 months - £100 * 2nd Cat Replacement Pipe with 02 Bung - £125 * 4 or 5 Samco Hoses (Black) for the Intercooler - £125 * Apexi Power Intake - Been on the car for 5000 miles - £90 * Jspec Turbos (64000 miles) - only run at 1.2Bar since Sept 04 - ? * Restrictor Ring - £10 * 440cc Injectors - ? If you are interested in any of the above, PM me but like I said all of this will be posted for sale in the appropriate section once it is off the car. I would like to THANK everyone who posted in the above thread, you have saved me some money in the long run as I now wont have to replace the hybrids was I get bored with them. However my missus would like to KILL you all as I have just spent alot of money and obviously she is PISSED. I am hoping she will change her mind once the project is finished and she has a spin in the motor. Cheers
  17. Tigger, what £300 cheaper then £760 and you have all the same mods, thats a great price, who is your insurance with?
  18. I am fairly sure I am going Single now and forgetting about the Hybrid route, not entirley sure whay kit to go for but it is between the BL 67 kit or the PHR stage 1 DBB kit. Anyway my current insurer wont touch me as they said they will not support those type of engine mods. So I phoned Sky Insurance (Club Insurance) to get a quote Quoted on the following * Fully Comp * Protected NCB * all mods declared including Single Turbo Conversion * Agreed Value of Car - £16000 ARE YOU READY FOR IT - ARE YER £760 - Not bad, when I go ahead with the conversion, they will be getting my business. I am 31 years of age with full no claims who as an SP30, This quote worked out £15 more than my current insurance but I dont have agreed value on that. Give them a bell, it worked wel for me.
  19. I spoke to Turbo Technics, they told me their Stage 3 were good for 1.7bar and 500bhp. I suppose it comes down to how you convert the hub figure we have all been mentioning My car is producing 371 at the hubs, I know we all use an transmission loss of 15 - 20%. Using this figure would mean I am supposedly somewhere between 430 and 460 at the crank (Sounds optamistic). If this is the case then the buying Hybrids rated at 500bhp (Crank) only gives me an extra 40 - 70bhp for £1600 exc fitting. Now if we all have the the hub to crank conversion wrong and it is only actually about 5 - 10% loss, then my crank bhp would only be 390 - 412 based on 371 at the hubs. in this case buying turbos rated at 500bhp will give me a possible 100bhp gain which aint to bad for the money. What do we think, AGREE OR DISAGREE What power figures are the people with singles making on the T61 Kits or the PHR Stage 1 Kits?
  20. Exactly Mate, I have been dynoed at Thor making 371rwhp on stock twins at 1.2bar, the examples on here are making 408 - 412 at the hubs (Thor) on hybrids. Thsi is my point, is it worth spending £2000 on hybrids for another 40bhp at the hubs. Please someone tell me that Hybrids make more than this, I thought they are capable of 1.7Bar and 500+Bhp
  21. Exactly Matt, the Hybrids do not seem viable. I am F***ED now.
  22. Screwed now, definitely cant make a decision, the hybrids are the cheaper option but I am worried in a year or so, i will want more. £2000 for an extra 50bhp seems steep. Here is the link to the Turbo Kit I am looking at. Can someone with a whole lot more experience than me have a look at it and let me know if there is anything else required for the Install. The kit is the PHR Stage 1 DBB. http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/Templates/frmTemplateH.asp?SubFolderID=211&SearchYN=N Also could I run this on 650cc Injectors effectively or do I need bigger Injectors again. Thanks
