Yeh Don I know the course is pass or fail but so was P Company so no difference there. I am going to pay my money and take the chance, I am confident I can pass and on talking to ex reg guys who have done the course. They dont think I should have any problems. cheers
-
Hell, another soldier - we should definitely look to hook up at the next big meet - JAE etc. It would be a shame for us all to be at the same meet and not introduce ourselves face to face.
-
Steve, how old are you mate, I think they prefer you to be 25+ for CP work. If you are older than this I would give it ago. I am a contract Manager for a private Leisure Management company earning 30k a year. I have decised to return to my routes and I have a missus, kids and a mortgage. If it does'nt work out I can always return to my previous career - weigh up all the pros and cons and then go with your gut feeling

Hello Lloyd, flip its a small world, I wonder if there are any other Para Reg on here - we will have to set up our own sub section on this forum if anymore reg guys make themselves known. I had a look at the Ronin course, looks like a great course but there are no spaces until may 06. My plan is to be working before then so chose Phoenix. I will PM you mate as this is going off topic. cheers
-
Hi Steve Have a look at the Phoenis Course, this is recgonised as the best course, all instructors are 22 SAS. The course costs £3500 for a 4 week course but the possible return is well worth it. I am planning to book myself on a course soon. http://www.phoenixcp.com I have mates working for CRG and Olive, they advised me that they are earning anything from 6 - 8k per month nett.

I got out at the end of 94 but I am considering returning to my routes. I have a ex Reg mates that are doing CP work and may consider this option. When did you get out mate?
-
Hi Don H Glad to see there is another Airborne Brother on here, I was in 2 Para. Which battalion was you mate and when did you serve? Take a look at my sig, does it remind you of the slogans from the Ratpit in Aldershot Hope to meet you soon
-
same thing happened to mine, I just bought another one, decided to get another stock one. Reliable sources say these are as good or better than the aftermarket ones.

my missus drives my Supra more than me, at first she would say the car was mine when she was asked, now she says the Supe is hers. When she first started to drive it, she drove slowly, now she drives fast, she loves the noise of the external wastegate. I think i will be getting asked to put the Supe in her name soon, she tells me she gets loads of blokes looking at her etc when she is driving especially when she leaves them in her dust. dickheads in BMW'S mostly - lol

Ian you are right mate, my fuelling is spot on 11.5 at full boost, i wont cut corners, to much money invested to wreck my engine, Cams Uprated Gear Box Then possibly a bigger turbo cams first though, somone want to lend me some money?
-
Ian, thanks for the info mate, seems cams are definitely the next mod, staggered or 264 all round, well thats another thread. Veilside TT, post up your sheet as I would like to compare fuelling etc and see if that is where the extra power came from. My car was mapped not using the water injection. I suppose I could trim the fuelling back abit for more power and use the water injection to compensate. I suppose I dont want to push it to hard, cams first i think
-
Ian thanks for the answer, I dont want to get involved in teh transmission losses. just out of interest, will uprated cams make a difference, i have heard rumours of 30bhp - is this true
-
Hi Alex it was dynoed at Thor's, I believe he dynoes the autos in drive with the OD off. Unfortunately I was'nt there at the time, Leon from JPS mapped it. Yeh you are right, the BL 61 and the PHR stage1 are pretty much the same. I am curious how veilside TT has made a further 45bhp than mine with the same mods, could this anything to do with the cams
-
Veilside TT, I have PE 650 injectors and Emanage, must be the Cams, are the UK uprated compared with the J-Spec?
-
Heelo Veilside TT, Would the cams on the UK Supra be responsible in the difference between mine and your figure. If so then I definitely need to uprate my cams. If you can find your print out, post it up mate as I would like to see how if the single power comes on at the same time for a uk car as a J-Spec.
-
Ian here are my dyno results from Thorm for my single, when I was BPU running 1.2 bar I was getting 370 at the hubs, Single turbo conversion (PHR Stage 1) 470 at the hubs at 1.4bar I am looking to uprate the cams to either staggered or 264 all round and put on some uprated pulleys. I am interested to know what type of gains I could expect. With teh water injection running a methanol mix + tesco 99 octane, I was hoping I could run 1.5 - 1.6bar on occasion
-
Hello mate, my mods seem to be the same as yours but I have oil cooler, transmission cooler and also water injection. I would love to see your Dyno sheet mate if you have it, my Supra was dynoed at 470 at the hubs at 1.4bar which is probably about 520 at the fly based on 10% transmission loss for an auto. I would love to see your dyno sheet mate so I can compare and see where the differences are. What boost was you running mate when the car was dynoed and was it on optimax cheers
-
Matt done my RLTC, top bloke, highly recommended, so much so I travelled from Northampton to maidstone just so he could fit it.
-
Hello Veilside TT, I would appreciate if you could let me know what other mods you have on your Supra as I am running the PHR Stage 1 and i am a curious what to do next. I was planning cams and pulleys and was wanted to know if you have had this done and what the differences these made to your car
-
I wish I had the Cams and Gearbox done at the same time, saving for this now and it is taking ages. Should of done it at day dot and just let the credit card take a bigger hit.

Hello mate, being ex forces, I did and still do alot of running. Running outside is best but if you are going to run on a treadmill, try the following * Use a mirror, as CJ suggested it will help keep your form * Hydrate yourself adequately before you start * Chew chewing gum, takes your mind off the run * Breath normally * When it get difficult, think about something to take your mind off it, I count to 100 continuously until the difficult period goes. * Keep the workouts varied * Keep a training log * Invest in a good pair of running trainers * Last couple of minutes, increase the pace, this will get you working in a different training zone which will help you improve the buffering of lactic acid so you can train at higher intensities for longer periods. oh yeh and the last thing - TRY TO ENJOY IT

Friday dreaming - Lottery win, which car would you buy first?
Vaughany replied to Aerotop Dave's topic in Off Topic
I would build an absulutely mental Supra, why I was waiting for this to be built, I would buy all of the above depending on how much I won, If it was a big win I would have a different Supercar for each day Please let it be me tonight!, if the missus picks the wrong lottery numbers again, I am divorcing her. -
Hi Ibrar What are the skirts like mate

When was the last time you used your car properly?
Vaughany replied to michael's topic in Supra Chat
Good Point, you have to respect the car, I had a blowout the other day, luckily I was only doing about 50. BUT when the time is right and you are only endangering yourself, F**K IT, it is good to floor it then the car really shows why it is Supra:ecstatic: -

Vaughany replied to michael's topic in Supra Chat
Well I have had my Supra two years, when I got it was totally stock. I then went through all the stages , New Exhaust, Ist Cat out, 2nd Cat out and then BPU. Earlier this year I went single, I have been happy with the power and all stages I have thougt hell this is fast at whatever stage. The problem is that surprisingly you get use to the power very quickly, do I need more power, no, but hell I want it. Just planning my next mods, cams and gearbox next and then I think I will invest in the handling abit. I feel I am addicted and not sure where I will stop. The sad thing is I hardly drive the car and very rarely drive it a full throttle. I find myself taking the car out just for drives so I can justify keeping it and spending money. I think the answer for me is Trackdays etc but this will only make my addiction worse which will only result in more money wasted. WHAT TO DO, HELL I DONT KNOW, I suppose just enjoy your car at whatever stage it is at -they are quick at whatever level of tune
