  2. i have the defi link meter gauge. the best by far. you do have to buy the control unit though, you can link up to 7 gauges, wicked. i fitted mine next to the clock where the air vent was. supa fit. i installed the gauge so that it rotates just like the vent, cool!! see pic.... i hunted high and low to get the best price, and i got the best deal from http://www.scoobymania.co.uk
  3. Thanks guys ok, not gonna worry about it. i'll see what happens. nippy though !! well certainly learned something anyway.
  4. yeh, its the charcoal filter(now i know what its called) gave a little knock and it started again i have to say its not loud at all, i only heard it cos i had my head down there looking for something, nippy though. thing is if it is that, why would it start to rattle all of a sudden when the car was cold and the battery disconnected?
  5. thanks very much jake can you or someone tell me part numbers price etc. looks pretty easy to replace does that mean then the charcoal or whatever's in there has broken up?
  6. thanks guys charcoal filter hmmm is it suppose to rattle though? does yours? i have noticed pics of some super sooped supes dont have it.
  7. hi all can anybody please help tried the search, but to no success. i am getting a rattle coming from...see pic yes i donno what it is:( after driving for about a hour i lifted up the bonnet to help cool the engine and noticed a small rattling sound from that thingy. waited about 15-20mins still there. ignored it. then last night while the engine was cold, i had the battery out (to pop in a new one)it started again. i gave the thingy a little shake and it started to rattle even more, sounded like theres something loose in there. carried on fitted the new batt(Exide Maxxima 900DC)the sound had stopped after 10 mins or so. would be very grateful for any help Rahul
  8. just to clarify the headlights were £262.20 inc. vat. for BOTH HEADLIGHTS. i told my Toyota man that most dealers are giving 12% discount, he put me on hold for a sec then came back with 10%. i did pick them up from him 10 mins away from where i live. i have been checking out the bulbs PIAA (jap innit) closest to HID, not bloody cheap for all the bulbs thats 3 pairs Super plasma blue will cost roughly £130. might just do the halford job?
  9. thanks for that albundy68 yeh your right it kinda all makes sense now. cheers. still donno what to do though!! the headlights (without bulbs) to be exact were £123.97+vat each. Managed to get 10% discount. Total paid inc. vat. was £262.20 (Western Toyota Edinburgh) part no. without bulbs LH 81170-1B210 RH 81130-1B210
  10. hi again just thought i would mention, i called my friendly Toyota dealer he told me that lower holder is indeed for indicators WEIRD! if i put a bulb in there either for indicators or side lights i'll need bulb holders which are £8+vat each. even if decide to put nothing in there then i would have to block the hole with something, dunno what to do? you what i might just order the buggers, i mean i've gone to the expense of buying new glass headlights etc. might aswell. i've been checking out, most new cars now have the indicators built into the headlights anyway. never ending is it?
  11. send a pic of your car.. please
  12. i'm glad you aknowledge what i mean. are your indicators toyota jobs, did you fit them or were they already fitted. check your bulb it should be Made by KOITI W21W (12V 21W)
  13. will fit the new headlights tonight. i'll let you guys know how i get on. anyone fitted PIAA bulbs and if so which are the best value for money? attached pic of front indicators front & side view(see what i mean)
  14. thanks for the replies. what i will do is remove the internal amber lens, probably knock it out with a screwdriver or something, then buy the silver bulbs(flash amber) and pop them in. getting the bulb is not a problem as previously mentioned silverfusion.co.uk sells them, only the one i need will take about 4 weeks. the bloke at silver fusion told me the bulb will be a W5W wedge type, but after checking it's the W21W bigger. apparently these are now fitted as standard on the new jap cars 2002/2003. hence thats why they are getting them manufactured. by the way the lenses i do have are original toyota jobs, some people have said that they are fitted on 98 cars, but mine is 96' ----------------------- one other thing i would like to mention is that i have just taken delivery of my new glass headlights (chrome inside) from Mr T look the business. i paid £260 inc. Vat. without bulbs as i will prob. fit PIAA Jobs (any suggestions which are the best) there's a motor on them for electric adjustment, can be wired up seen installation intructions on the net somewhere. my jap lights were plastic with a greyish inside later painted black when i done the oven treatment plastic polish etc. thing is these have a place for indicators in them aswell, which on the back says W5W will i be able to get the bulb holders from Mr T and pop em in? and the connetion can that be taken from the indicators in the bumper is that safe to do? suppose then i will have 2 sets of indicators on the front, will that look right? or ignore it and cover the holes with something?
  15. hi i'm the new guy. can anyone help i have what most people would call the newer clear front indicators(in bumper). only thing is they are only clear when looked at a certain angle. side on yes they are clear, but straight on they are not. well the outer lens is clear, the bulb is clear but inside there is another amber lense. what i want is true CLEAR indicators - Help one solution would be to buy clear bulbs which flash amber wedge type KOITO 12V 21W (W21W) from http://www.silverfusion.co.uk who will be stocking them in about 4/5 weeks time, and to remove somehow the amber lens? any ideas? i have tried the search.
  16. hi i am a new member and just want to say hello to everyone. Rahul
