  1. Any update on this mate? Manage to get it working?
  2. Quick roll call! Anyone own a supra around East london/Essex seen a few about & would be good to know some other local heads.
  3. Good to know some other local owners- I've seen a few around woodford (black)/ chingford (white) / leytonstone (grey) / Canary wharf (grey)
  4. Still available? Where are you based?
  5. Hey man. Are these still available?
  6. Hey man. Just wondering how the conversion is holding up a year or so later? Any advise you could offer or owt you would do differently? I also have to agree that Paul @ Whifbitz definitely puts in the work to be approachable when discussing options etc - I must've exchanges at least 50 emails with the guy and he was very patient to be fair. My NA auto is booked in for the na-t in 2 weeks time so was interested to see how yours was holding up. BK
  7. I saw a nice black supra at the car wash in Jet petrol station near the Green Man roundabout at the top of Hermon Hill (between south woodford and Leytonstone). Looked good and sounded pretty raw on rev!
  8. Hey man what was the spool like on the turbo?? Did u use it for na-t? Interested in a few parts here.
  9. Hey man thanks v helpful. What other turbos are you taking into consideration for your forged build? Or are you just that happy with the gtx3073 that you dont need to consider anything further? Also when i say 450bhp i actually mean I want around 400 - 450 whp so im guessing that equates to anywhere between 470-550 bhp depending on the efficiency/flow of the set up. I will look into the manifold too asap!
  10. This also sounds interesting. Currently available for ~£500. Let us know how your dyno results go later in the year man! Do you find the 3k full boost a bit early?? I understand it is personal preference - just for some reasom I have it in my head that 3800-4000 is the sweet spot but thats based just on my gut feeling
  11. Thanks man - i think the value proposition of thr s360 makes the most sense at the moment from what im reading
  12. Tnx man - what bhp u packing? Would you recommend buying the s360 then? Or would you do things differently in retrospect?
  13. thanks will add it to my list and send the excel file comparing them all at the end. any more suggestions are v welcome BK
  14. Hi All I am currently undertaking the Na-t conversion and purchased a GT45 as part of a kit (acting on someone else's advise). I have since discovered the GT45 spools at 6000+ rpm but was looking for a something that spools late 3000/ early 4000 for a street car (min 450 bhp). I have researched into the following turbos which come at different pricing points: Garret GT4088 $1400 Precision 6266 $1800 Borg Warner s360 $900 Ebay GT35 $280 Borg Warner S300SX3$800 The borg warner & gt35 were kindly put out there as suggestions by Mike2jz on my build thread (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?348056-Hadouken!-(Na-t-project-2018)/page2&highlight=hadouken) The rest of the turbo kit is not particularly high end just your usual parts but in the main unbranded. My questions are: 1) Does anyone have any further suggestions of Turbos that meet the requirements? (min 450 bhp, low spool) 2) Does it make sense to have an expensive turbo in the middle of an otherwise relatively inexpensive kit? (The idea would then be to upgrade the remainder of the kit over time) If it makes the car more unique, I am prepared to go to the higher price bracket. The rest of the car is being built to take well over 500 bhp (suspension, fuel system, tt headgasket, hybrid autobox etc etc) BK
  15. Hey man Sorry i didnt receive the invite but think ive managed to join the transmission group now. I will PM you right away. BK
  16. Turbo update: Aiming for 450-500 bhp on a street car Looking at getting the precision 6266 gen 2. Has anyone got any feedback on these? Not sure if it's overkill but cant seem to find any decent spooling turbos these days.
  17. Thanks man - some good pointers. The last GT45 ebay turbo I've seen on a 2JZ was hitting boost at 5k, with power coming after. Complete waste of time for a street car in my opinion. ---thanks, noted. If your budget it tight you can try a ebay T4 T70 or GT35 turbo. Both sizes will kick in around 4k. You can also find Borg Warner S300SX3 63mm turbo's on eBay for £575, which is pretty cheap for the performance you will get for your money. Those turbo's will spool in the late 3k to early 4k rpm range. ---thanks i will do the due diligence today. If my budget isnt so tight, can you recommend a decent turbo that is worth the money? (cheaper = better but a general rule of thumb is that I prefer to pay for quality so if there is a turbo that is slightly more expensive but comes highly recommended I will look at it) I've been advised recently that if you are running the NA autobox you will be limited to around 300 ft.lbs of torque before you kill it, regardless of how many coolers you put on it. The TT boxes take more abuse, and I believe DavidP can build you a hybrid autobox good for even more power if you bring him the right bits. ---thanks i've seen DavidP's name around but couldnt find him using the TapTalk app last time i tried. I will try again You can achieve 450hp on an unopened 2JZGE but you will be starting to reach the limits of knock on regular pump fuel at that sort of level. Advisable to put a TT headgasket and/or TT pistons into the engine to drop compression. Or start running meth injection/knock resistant fuels. ---TT headgasket is part of my kit so hopefully that is covered. The distributor ignition system is a point of failure for sure, but there are a few guys running 400-500 NA-T's with distributor. See if you can get away with it on yours before upgrading. ---great tnx. Do you know of any builds on the forum that I can refer to for this? BK
  18. Current barriers - what do u guys reckon? ----- Turbo Basically, i picked up a turbo kit (parts listed in very first post) but the issue that has come to light is that the turbo spools at ~6000rpm which is too high for me. I was looking for a turbo that is compatible with the rest of the kit and spools at ~4000 rpm. My guy is currently looking into something from AET Turbos but im waiting to hear on specifics Q 1) what turbo would you guys recommend? (Also taking into consideration the below point) ----- 450 bhp Now ive been told to make the current turbo work in a set up ~500bhp I will need to upgrade the ignition system and a few other rods etc. However, i have been told that we can achieve 450 bhp with the current set up (cusco zero2 suspension, UK front brakes, hks 1000cc injectors, braided lines, autobox cooler). Q 2) A) do you guys reckon i still need to put in work souping up the ignition system on a 450 bhp set up? B) do i still need that autobox cooler BK
  19. Updates: -Turns out theres already cusco zero-2 suspension in the car! -Turbo and manifold are now in - FMIC in (had to custom make bracket which slowed us down) -Downpipe is being worked on right now -Decided to try to go with a mishimoto set up for autobox cooling Couple of pics attached BK
