  1. OK, cheers - I'll have a look in the morning when it's light.
  2. Hey Guys My clutch has developed a click when I put my foot down on it, at about 50% of the way to the floor there is an audible (and can feel it slightly with my foot) click. Gear changes havent been affected, no difference in smoothness/etc - and happens if I'm in gear or not. I can replicate stationary with the engine off, in neutral. It doesnt click if I press down ever so slowly through full travel (not good for the legs!), and never clicks on the way back up. Always clicks at the same point, and is audible outside the car. Any ideas? N/A manual. I'll be having a look in the daylight tomorrow.
  3. Okido, I'll pick some spring whatsists up tomorrow. Any ideas the best place to get them?
  4. Hi all Got some replacement rear shocks being delivered tomorrow for my N/A manual. Have had a look under the arch, and in the boot above them... quick question - how easy are the shocks to replace? Is this something I can do with the correct tools and a 'proper' jack? Or is it garage time? Cheers
  5. thinking about it tho - 217km, is that around town driving? Lots of heavy first and 2nd gear bursts? That would drink the petrol. I tend not to get that at home 'cause work is only 5 mile away and the Supe is only just warm by the time I get there (basically I keep it below 4k revs until warm). Only time it really gets opened up is at the weekend on long runs.
  6. blimey, that's some horrendous mpg heavy right foot? On mway runs I can confirm (just went back through my little notebook I keep in the car lol) that 300 miles (500km ish) out of a tank is usual. Mainly because a run from my home to Penzance is about 310 miles and I can do it with only filling up at home, then fill up when I get to PZ.
  7. My N/A manual has a definite kick at 4,5k revs. Most noticable if pulling away in 2nd gear at about 20mph, foot to the floor, feel it build up, wind up, hit 4.5k and off you go! 250kms? Good god you just have been having fun! - just did a long mway run avg of 90 and got best part of 500km on a tank. Usual round town and work trips is 370 to 410 kms on a tank.
  8. Recent trip of 400 miles, steady 90 (including foot to the floor from 70 to 90 plus to get past/shock those lane hogging slow *******) gave 23.4mpg on my N/A Avg about town is 21 mpg.

    Odd Rattle

Where is the silencer located? Sounds like the rattle is about 2 foot max and slighty to the left of me as a driver?

    Odd Rattle

Well I do fancy a CW de-cat and exhaust job :flame Dev so this may be just the excuse...

    Odd Rattle

Still the standard exhaust, no de-cats, no engine mods, 100k miles. Yup it does it if sat still and I blip the throttle. No axle stands, so dont fancy sticking my head under it!
  12. Lo all I've done a search through the tech forum and not found anything the same as this... On low revs, accelerating very slowly either: Out of gear trying it out (ie on drive) 2nd gear pulling away from a junction I've slowed down for I get a rattle that seems to be coming from the middle of the front half of the car (ish). A mattlic rattle is the best description. This kicks in at about 1.8k revs and stays till 1.95k revs. It is noticable if I blip the throttle past 1.8k revs and let it drop back down, on the revs dropping down the rattle is noticed very briefly. Never notice it if I pull away in 1st gear as I'm probably giving it more than that many revs! Some days this rattle isn't evident, some it is. Went on a 400 mile round trip the other day (23.4 mpg at an average of 90!!) and at the start it rattled, at the end it didn't. Rattled this morning. lol. No change in performance, everything is smooth, engine idles very quietly, no tappit noise, etc, etc. Car is a N/A manual, 5sp. Any ideas?
  13. you sure it's not the clutch through the bulkhead needing some lubrication? I've had it on my last 3 manual cars, n a quick bit of lube sorted the problem. Wouldnt happen to have started with it being dry for a few days then getting wet eh?
