  1. I've already mentioned it to a couple of people who is consider bringing with me, and the email has been sent to my manager, so I'll see where it leaves me and hopefully begin planning for it!
  2. Oooooohhhhh... Now that looks like something to look forward to! I'll have to get onto my work and see what my Rota pattern and overtime/callout pattern is! How many miles you imagining we will cover? I'll attempt to work out my fuel costs and start putting money aside
  3. I'm in Shrewsbury and an hour Southwest, also more than happy to help out if needed same as above though, no way I could have anyone in the back seats unless it was 1 person and they're willing to put their legs up
  4. That would have been me yeah, for a younger looking lad he was about one of the only people who asked the good and sensible questions about it! Was just unfortunate that someone else had a viewing scheduled beforehand. He did mention he had a brother in law who was around here as well once I mentioned the Supra! Hoping I'll be able to get to some shows this year and meet a lot of you
  5. Definitely interested to see your next build thread Mike And I appreciate all of the comments; I'll take that into consideration thanks Barry, appreciate that, much easier than poking around under axel stands! I'll likely look to start my own thread soon once I've planned out a couple of ideas for it and learnt much more about the car itself!
  6. So, I finally took the plunge after looking for a few months at what was about for my budget, so firstly I'd like to thank all of you that took the time to slide into my DM's or messaged on my classifieds post whether it be advice, information or cars for sale, and also Rider for being kind enough to show me around his Supra while it was up on his frame. I'd like to seriously thank Glanza_Mike, not only for being one of the most genuine car sellers I've met, but for being so patient with me once I had put the deposit down at the back end of December. Shortly explained, Barclays stitched me over unknowingly on a 1K per transaction spending limit that wasn't removed from when I was 16; I then had hell with my work over the last 2 weeks due to 1 of our team members retiring, meaning I've had to cover some ridiculous hours and also weekend working to save my employer from some hefty late completion fines, which in turn meant that I had set Mike back 2 weeks on the agreed pick up date. To say he was gentlemanly about it all was an understatement, so this is just a voice of appreciation again for that. On the whole, 100% worth it, I have ended up with a stunning low mileage Auto example that has had some brilliant upgrades with the money spent in really sensible places, by someone who clearly knew what they were doing and setting out to achieve in the long term and I really couldn't be happier with it! Knowing I also have the build thread to view as extra history is the icing really. This is the vehicle itself, which is a photo of Mikes, and a quick photo of mine once near home, just waiting on being able to clean and detail it and also some daylight to take some more photos of it asap!
  7. Hope they're alright, that looks awful, here's hoping the passenger isn't as bad as it initially seems
  8. I'm really not keen on Mike Brewer; a lot of things he does grates on me, things like thinking it's normal to knock panels with his knuckles as he walks around them, also constantly leaning on cars he hasn't bought get your hands off them
  9. I daren't put up any pictures of the car as I feel it would bring me more bad luck It is forum owned however, and I'd say the lad is definitely an active member! I know, I've never had good luck with these sort of things but I'll be able to collect next Tuesday (maybe even Saturday if work give me a break)
  10. Little update, I actually put a deposit down on a very well looked after auto example on the 24th December, I've just been waiting on Barclays to lift a rogue 1K max payment limit on my account that should have been removed when I was 18... I'm now 27, go figure that for customer service Also waiting for work to quiet down, we have had 2 people retire in our team between Christmas and New Year, and man have they left us in the s***, non completion of works left right and centre so I'm being dragged here there and everywhere on every given day to complete things asap as the company are seriously racking themselves up some late fines. Lines my pocket though I guess even if they are driving me insane. I just want 1 solid day off to pick up the Supra! The poor lad has been so patient with me organising a day. Going to have to buy him a few beers on top for sure, although he did state he was happy to have the Supra around for longer
  11. Have a good Christmas and Boxing day everyone involved here; Hopefully meet a lot of you at the events Next Year
  12. I imagine if it were to fail, you'd need to get a jack with a larger jacking scale next to it, jack it higher, remove failed jack, and then lower again. Never used one, looks like a nice bit of kit if you need to avoid manual. Sam
  13. That definitely seems reason enough to restart my subscription! Congrats on that, look forward to reading it!
  14. Could be an issue with the hardware you're using rather than the actual cabling to the property itself, in this circumstance unfortunately Openreach will want a callout charge to investigate it as it's not within their hardware the problem sits
  15. Microwaves and bell wires are other points of potential signal interference if they're near your router
  16. I get all of that bud, they're a nightmare at the best of times, I couldn't get Openreach to help me with 1 of my issues for over 3 months last year and I work for their parent brand! Are the cables to your building overhead or underground out of interest?
  17. My first suggestion would be to change your filter; Second suggestion would be to open the socket you're connected to and put it into the internal test socket directly and run more speed tests. This is the first 2 steps an Openreach engineer would probably take from experience of them being around sorting my internet in the past
  18. Have you been using something such as speedtest.net to check it? What sort of download and upload have you been seeing? Annabella has kindly asked my 2nd question! What sort of building are you in? It's possible to have other equipment signals interfere with the wifi, and it's also possible that if you have other routers in the same area that routers on the same signal channel can "fight for dominance" Unfortunately this is definitely an Openreach problem, and out of my personal skill range (I only know certain things through fixing issues with my internet myself) If you can't get it sorted by the end of this thread though I'm more than happy for you to send me a complete breakdown of the issue and I'll forward it onto the family and friends service for you, they've helped people I know in the past.
  19. I'm not on Openreach engineer (if it's a Wi-Fi problem) however I am a BT Power Engineer. Common misconception that it's BT that sort the housing side of the telecommunications. Happy to help if I can though? If it is a Wi-Fi issue I can also send off the issue to a private section of Openreach that sort "family and friends" issues that are having issues with resolvement. Sam
  20. Yeah the matrix is fine, that was more of a question I asked out of interest after it was brought up. Cheers for the info
  21. I suppose essentially I could source a 2nd hand one if needed as well. What sort of labour costs am I looking at messing with things like this? Not after anything exact, just ballpark figures from those with experience so I know the best and worst case scenarios etc
  22. No advert on here I'm afraid, it's forum owned though and was one offered me if he comes to the conclusion that he definitely wants to sell it
  23. Thanks for the insight. The person who's car it is, is on the forums, they seem very genuine, good to speak with and they've told me about the problem in advance, so if all else checks out I would have no problem going for it, if they're still happy to let it go of course. I'll check into the heater matrix also, as I'm sure I've read elsewhere that they're an expensive and pain of a job
  24. I'm potentially looking at a Supra, it's very clean and appears to have been very well looked after; but it's developed an AC fault, all he's aware of is it just won't run. If I was to view and like this car enough to buy it, how much in a worst case scenario could I be looking at to rectify the AC? I'm aware I could just dismantle the AC system but I'd prefer to fix it. Cheers, Sam
  25. I suppose as with anything, all you can do is give it a really good look over, and listen to it starting and running. Would it help to take one of the really experienced guys from the forum with you? They may see or hear something you wouldn't
