4 spoke steering wheel swap to JDM 3 spoke steering wheel
ironman9 replied to ironman9's topic in mkiv Technical
Yup UK Spec. Cruise control isn't working anymore no idea why after the manual conversion. Can cruise control work with the 6speed manual? Airbag gone I am okay with that. - - - Updated - - - -
Hey guys! My car is a 1993 Toyota Supra twin turbo EURO Spec. I am trying to swap my 4 spoke air bag steering wheel to a JDM spec 3 spoke non air bag steering wheel (the one with the Supra logo on the face). after taking out the 4 spoke steering wheel, i tried to fit the 3 spoke in, i found out that the back of the 3 spoke can't fit in the the steering column part to be screwed on. Any idea what needs to be changed or modified in order to fit it? 20180516_183738 by Jas T, on Flickr 20180516_183757 by Jas T, on Flickr 20180516_183801 by Jas T, on Flickr 20180520_100258 by Jas T, on Flickr

yea it is expensive! so removing the air in the brake line may help right?
-
yea that's what i thought. there isn't many supras here in my country. And all of the owners are keeping theirs. The market is different to that of US, UK or Australia. Its very limited in my country. I guess i may have to pull the trigger on this, but still gotta think really hard if it will be worth it or not.

i would import a Turbo supra by now, but the law in my country does not allow vechicles ages more than 7 years from today to be imported in..it sucks so much..

Hi guys. I am currently looking at this 1995 Toyota Supra SZ, NA Auto Supra. I know its not the desirable Supra to most, even to me, but finding a Supra that is up for sale is, can I say, rare af in my country! I would like to know how much a NA Auto Supra may worth today because the seller is looking for like around 20,000.00+ British Pounds!!! Which honestly i feel it is ridiculous! Most of the car is in stock condition, no modification done to the engine. Comes with 19x9 Advan RZ with new tyres, GAB SSS Coilovers, Grams Ridox Style kit, new battery, and new sound system. The running currently is at 156,xxx km mileage. I took it for a spin yesterday, and it runs smooth. I don't feel any clucking in the gears or hear any weird noises from the engine. However, when I applied the brakes, I had to kick it ALLLLL the way in then only the brakes start to slowly activate (I have no idea why). And there is the Master warning light that is always on, the owner says that this is may be due to when the active front lip has been removed, the plug hasn't been disconnected yet. Other than those, the car looks like it has been taken care properly, hardly driven.

thank you!

btw, does anyone know where I can get a rear bumper for the 1994 supra? it can be used but should have no dents. Im planning to replace the rear bumper rather than removing that blended bodykit as im afraid the workmanship here isn't that good. and i dont even know how to remove it.
-
okay thanks man! i will try to get it tested if the owner allows me to do so.
-
my plan if i do get this car, i will repaint the whole car and clean up the engine bay and change that wheels. its ugly haha for the compression/leakdown test, is that compression gauge thing a specific tool? where can I find that tool? and what coil is good for the car?
-
These are what he can recall from the top of his head that he changed on the car: 4" Whifbitz fmic Hks bov Ati/titan crank pulley Sard radiator Trans cooler + fan Megan racing Rear end link Aeromotive 340lph fuelpump Mvp Billet tensioner bracket Superspark iginition coil any of these stuffs good?
-
yup its full of dust and sand because there is a construction just next to his house. I forgot what air filter it is. Is there a way to remove the blended part of the bodykit? I just want the stock bumpers and side skirt so i can fit the Shine Auto kit on.
-
your car colour is nice! its one of my choice! but what colour is that blue supra? That colour looks nice too!
-
yup, im set on going for the Supra. I mean, if i wanna get a R34, i should go for the real deal, GTR R34, rather than a GTT. Whereas the Supra on the other hand, is already the real deal, a Supra! haha yea i dont mind the automatic transmission, as i can use the car daily for now before i have the money to swap it to the 6 speed. I saw that there are 2 6 speed, the V160 and V161? whats the difference between the 2? and which is better?

Hi guys. So i went to view the Silver supra this afternoon. and my goodness I was so damn disappointed. The car has not start for 4 months! (maybe more) we tried to jump start the car but it still couldnt start. the owner said could be the fuel pump. The condition of the car is so bad, the interior is so dirty and it has a stale smell. The owner says that the Supra is his "dream" car, but i was thinking, if it is your dream car, why aren't you taking good care of it. I'm nt going to bother about that car, there could be so many problems that he isn't telling me and he is asking for soooo much for that condition. I also want to add, this silver supra, was originally a NA Supra. The owner swapped to a 2jz engine and a 5 speed manual transmission from the 1jz. Fast forward to later in the afternoon, i asked my friend to find me another Supra, and low and behold, there is another Supra! This is a 1994 Supra J Spec. however, this owner isn't going to let go unless his price is met. This one is in orange colour, 2jz twin turbo and Automatic transmission. Everything of the engine bay is stock except for the 4" Whifbitz front mount intercooler and HKS ssqv bov. other than that, some small parts have been changed, but no ecu upgrade. Still running on J spec hp. How is the Automatic transmission? If i do get it, i am planning to swap it to the 6 speed manual.

I just checked with my friend who is the friend of the owner of the supra, it is originally a TT, but it was an auto TT. which is then swapped to a 5 speed manual, (WHICH I ASSUME IS the 1jz manual transmission, but im not 100% sure. will have to reconfirm that again). About the ABS, my friend said that it should have but i will have a look in person soon.
-
how do you check if the car has ABS or not? or the ABS has been removed?
-
okay thanks so much for the information all! I will have a look at the car again! really appreciate your help all!
-
is there a site where i can get the chassis no. with a registry online? I know i could do that with the GTT but not sure of the Supra.
-
okay i will have a look into that when i view the car. But is that not an air filter fitted ? - - - Updated - - - no, the car wasn't a NA to start with. It is the TT version but auto. - - - Updated - - - how do i check if the car has ABS or not?
-
haha do i really sound im leaning towards the GTT? opps my bad. I shouldn't have really emphasize on the GTT too much. I am not too sure what 5 speed is the supra running, but I am thinking of swapping it to the stock 6 speed Supra transmission if i get it. However, the GTT is really really well taken care of, unfortunately the seller doesn't allow test drive (typical in my country). I'll only have to wait till this coming Saturday to be able to see the Supra in person. i have attached some pics of the Supra. I'd say i need some work to make it look nice. I cant seem to upload the GTT photos but its way way way cleaner than this. I am actually leaning towards the Supra tbh. I can't get over the fact if I own the GTT and it looks like a GTR but doesnt have a GTR engine (i could do this but i prefer the 2jz engine).

yup i know haha but would love to hear some experiences from you guys Supra owners. what are the things u guys like and dislike about the car and all.
