Wow, that looks worrying. Didn't know know some Supras came with an extra side pod! Really enjoy these updates- seeing a Supra slowly get resurrected is incredibly satisfying.

Agree with all the comments so far- fascinating build and great to see a Supra being saved from the rot. I think we'll be seeing more and more threads like this in years to come.

    Shed find

Welcome. Pictures would definitely help but side skirts are usually held on by a row of bolts along the sill and a few round the wheel arches. My old skirts had side skirt tape strips as well- found a chemical that dissolved it but it took a lot of effort. I ended up sanding and repainting the sills as the tape still left some marks and residue. All the best with the work- keep us posted!
  4. Love the upgrade. Thanks to all involved for your hard work. Long live the forum!

  6. If your dash doesn't have the pre-facelift rubber coating on it then I'd suggest a tar and glue remover if the warm soapy water doesn't work.
  7. Starting to look good now! Glad you were able to see the potential in it. Keep us posted.
  8. Pretty much. The scouring pad also roughs up the surface nicely ready for paint.
  9. I used oven cleaner foam- spray it on, wait half an hour, most the rubber then scrubs off pretty easily. Brake cleaner apparently works too but I haven't tried it.
  10. Just thought I'd share what I'm working on today as it may be worth a check if your Supra is an Aerotop. When I bought the car I noticed someone had used bathroom sealant or similar on the front Aerotop seal, presumably because it was leaking. When I came to replace the front seal however there was quite a lot of rust in the channel at the top of the windscreen which is odd as the rest of the car is rust-free, so I'd guess the leaking seal had caused water to become trapped in this channel. It's now been sanded and treated but just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has or has had a leaking seal. Also check out my new super lightweight Aerotop roof! Good for 200mph according to the Internet.
  11. Thanks for all the replies so far everyone- really helpful, plus I've learned a couple of things! At the very least is sounds as though most people who have this exhaust are happy with it, which is a good sign.
  12. I've done a fair bit of reading on here already but just wanted to see if anyone could give me some more specific feedback about the above exhaust. My Supra is BPU with hybrid turbos, fully decatted, and currently has a 4" single box exhaust which I find a bit too loud, especially in built up areas. I'm looking to change the exhaust for something a bit quieter but not too quiet (I know that may not be very helpful!), and with less drone to it. Does anyone happen to have the same or similar spec car to mine with the HKS Silent Hi-Power, and if so could you tell me how you find the exhaust noise levels and note? I'm well aware that on a decatted car the HKS is far from "Silent", but that's actually what's making me consider it as I'd still like some noise, just not masses. Hope that makes sense! Any input welcome, thank you.
  13. Looks really good. I had to trim mine quite a bit for the intercooler piping but it looks as though you haven't had the same problem.

    Radiator

I recently got the Mishimoto- very happy with the fit and quality. Only thing I miss is the gearbox oil cooler built into the base of the OEM rad (for autos only), so had to fit a standalone cooler at the same time.
  15. Looks nice. Not too messed with either. What restoration are you doing?
  16. One of the previous owners on this forum took the initiative to get in touch with me and offer his support when he saw I'd bought the car (I didn't buy it directly from him- a couple of other people had owned the car in between him selling and me buying it). Thought that was really nice though. As the car had been in the club previously I was also able to track down a few old photos of it from Dragonball and car show outings. Wish I could get some photos of it when it lived in Japan...
  17. Welcome to the club Matt. Just wanted to say you've the right attitude in waiting for the right car for you. As has been said, it likely won't be a perfect car when you find it but hopefully it will be something you can work with. Without wishing to be discouraging I searched for nearly two years to get mine and it got a bit frustrating at times, but I'm really glad I held out. All the best with your search.
  18. The photo was useful! Seems my kit is missing one spanner and whatever that blue rod is...

  20. Welcome back and congratulations on the new purchase. I've just had a read through the thread you did on your first NA- very enjoyable but what a state! Fair play to you for doing as much as you did to sort it. Hope the new one is less hassle.
  21. Bit of advice here, post #10: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?274404-Scuttle-Panel-Bring-back-to-life
  22. Hi, As above, I'm after a set of front "hockey sticks". No clips needed. If anyone has some spare could you drop me a PM? Thanks very much. Dave
