  2. Hi all, Searching the forum I can see and have read a bunch of older questions / posts about auto to manual conversions- in fact too many to sift through entirely. So I would like a manual conversion for my ‘95 SZ. I have seen a few gearboxes referred to by numbers and some teething problems from some. Could someone give a simpleton some advice about; A) what options there are? B) any recommendations in the Cambridgeshire ish area as to who could complete the job for me C) any idea on current prices I’d really appreciate the help as a lot of the discussions go a bit above my head. For perspective I changed my first discs and pads 1 month before my 40th birthday this year... and that is my mechanical limit. Thanks Stuart
  3. As in the title, I’ve replaced my steering wheel with the Original one and selling the momo setup which came out. Good bits, full plug and play as I’m selling everything which came out. Bad bits, some scuffing on the wheel, visible on the grey- refurb would cure. A little scuffing on the black section, but pretty unnoticeable. (See pics) Looking at recent eBay prices am looking for £75 for everything. Huge variance on prices, so hope that’s about right. I think postage would be about £12 via parcel force or collect from Cambs.
  4. Are you selling one, or a pic to help out? Thanks either way S
  5. Hi all, I’m looking for the original leather steering wheel from a 1995 SZ. I believe there was only one without an airbag? If anyone has one please let me know? Thanks
  6. That’s the one- thanks!! I would never have guessed that. Just tried again, still can’t get it off.
  7. Hi all, Please can you help me- I don’t know the name of a part I’m trying to remove, so can’t search the forum. I’m trying to remove the plastic grill which sits between the windscreen and the bonnet, which wraps around the front windscreen wipers, covering the water runoff. If anyone could name that part please or help me with removing it that would be fab. I’ve taken the 4 screws out but it won’t budge. Don’t want to snap it as I’m sure it costs a small fortune to replace. Thanks for any help. Stuart
  8. Hi All, I have a jammed slider pin... Looking for a Jspec calliper cradle for the rear nearside (Not the piston part). I believe the part number is either: 47721 or 47722. cash waiting - thanks
  9. That's a very good shout. could be the wax either impacted, or contaminated... it was super heated during the hot weather as my wife left it out in the sun (on the 38 degree day) it did go on more granular than usual - I wonder if it could be knackered even. All good stuff, so thanks for the input.
  10. Thanks Peter, it was quite a mess before the polish, virtually perfect after, but now light scratches again. I’ll miss the snow foam, and not machine polish again. You mention dw, what’s that? I think I will look to ceramic coat it after some very minor correction and leave it there. Thanks for the input.
  11. I use a deep pile cleaning mitt. It is synthetic wool, but is very plush. (from Autobrite) Cleans my daily car with none of the same issues.

  13. Hi all, This may seem like a really stupid query - Sorry in advance. My Supe is a black Jspec '95. When I first bought it, it went under a tent and I: Rinsed, Snow foamed (AB), rinsed, 2 bucket washed (Megs soap), claybar'd, de oxidised, cleaned the paint(Dodo Juice), 3 step machine polished, and finally 3 coats of collinite 476 over about 13 hours. Now after that it looked lovely. A couple of weeks ago (a month after the above) I Rinsed, Snow foamed, rinsed, 2 bucket washed, and dried with big fluffy micro fibre towels. I now seem to have a ridiculous amount of scratches back and I just don't get it. And by that I mean it needs another machine polish. Is the clear coat particularly soft? or does it have trouble adhering to some sealants and waxes? I've owned black cars before, but never seen this level of damage after a month and a wash. Just any thoughts on the above would be great.. Ta
  14. So the reason I wanted to try this was that I couldn’t see any actual confirmation that home remedies would work- only the YouTube videos of a miracle cure. For context my drivers seat belt would not retract at all, I had to feed every bit. I now have a fully retracting seatbelt, completely cured of its ills’. The method I used was: -Washing up liquid, laundry detergent in a bucket with boiling water. Soak as much belt as I could.(fully extended) -Scrub and wipe at 15 mins, 40 mins, remove at an hour onto a towel and vigorous towel try. (Towel, scrubbing cloth and bucket all black with dirt). - air dry accelerated with a hair dryer, **at this stage retracting quite well -polish with furniture polish -then allow to dry Voila- I fully retracting seatbelt.. I promise no one is more shocked than me. Try it- you might like it.... Ps have researched all the chemicals involved. Nothing should have detrimental effect on the material of the belt, and the inherent strength. - - - Updated - - -
  15. You’re a star. Yeah I will prob end up swapping out. But I’ve always wondered if the bucket soaking / furniture polish / silicon spray type of YouTube solutions work. Thanks for the pictures!!
  16. Hi All, Would anybody be able to point me in the direction of a diagram of the front seat belt assembly please? I am looking to purchase a new tensioner at some point, due to a retraction problem, but am going to try a few "home remedies" on the old belt as I'm really curious how effective they are. Ideally, I would like to know where the reel sits in relation to the protrusion point of the belt into the cabin. A pic would be great. Thanks
  17. True Mike2JZ. Prob not a chance I should take over a few quid.
  18. That’s great thank you. Exactly what I was after. I can’t find any kits of those O rings on ‘tinternet. Do you know if generic O rings would do? I have one of those massive selection boxes.. Thanks for the responses!!
