  1. Heh.. I assure you I still have the problem. Thing is, you cant keep it floored. During my runs, I was feathering the throttle all the way through second gear unsuccessfully trying to keep the wheelspin under control. All the while steering into the drift. Its a bit ballsy, but not much you can do at Pod skating rink.

  7. Ah ha! Typical, the one place I couldnt get to was at fault. One of the Vac lines to the WG from the BC Solenoid had split an end. Readjusted the jubilee clamp and reattached and voila.. 1.3 bar again. Least I was spot on with the Spring setting on the WG. Boost Controller just couldnt force more boost due to the line being cut. Thanks for the help guys!
  8. You would also have to put up with it being a Left hand Drive. I wouldnt say its FnF hype. They've been expensive for a long time. There is a huge demand for them once the tuning became readily available. Crazy HP for cheap money when compared to what you need to dump into US domestics for equal power. There is 0 importation, so the market reflects the demand.
  9. I had seen pics of this, altho it stops your car from getting stonechips, there was a dull look when compared to the standard paint. So, if you prefer a show shine I wouldnt.. but if you dont want stonechips.. *shrug* I would want to see some examples up front.
  10. Only if imported from Japan, correct. Europe made no Aerotops at all. USA made Aerotops quite a bit later and always had the option for manual transmission. Supras ceased production for US markets in 1998. Its quite funny cause Aerotop Turbo supes are like rocking horse shit here, while its exact opposite in the USA. Aerotops (Targa Tops) are common as anything, while Manual Hardtops are rare as feck there.
  11. Aerotops ceased production in Japan (Europe's Aerotop supply) in 1995, so no Triptronic would be available for it.
  12. Yes, but spring pressure for my single turbo should be around 12psi. This just so happens to equate to ~0.83 bar. Coincidence? Maybe my boost controller is nackered and not keeping the WG shut allowing me to build more boost? Got a slot in with Leon tomorrow, so we can take a better look at it with some real tools and equipment. Appreciate all the help tho.. I'm running out of ideas.
  13. Really dont think the guage is faulty. Ive got 3 exact readings. One from S-AFCII, one from the Boost Controller, and one from my Greddy Guage pod. There's quite a load of difference in 0.8 and 1.3 bar on a single turbo! The only thing I cant really check up on is the Wastegate due to location. Hopefully I can get it on a lift tomorrow for closer inspection.
  14. As I said, last night I played with the settings to try and turn up the boost but it made no changes. I dont think this would be the cause unless the controller has gone faulty. I had pre-dialled in the settings when it was dyno tuned.
  15. PHR Downpipe and Midpipe and HKS Exhaust. Unless some twat has stuck something up the zorst to be funny. Doubtful, but I will have a look anyway. Come to think of it, my cat as been missing for a few days! J/K
  16. Its definitely not heatsoak. From a cold start it does the same and Ive got an R-Spec Intercooler. Shouldnt see nearly half a bar loss of boost from heatsoak anyway, IMO.
  17. Im just trying to fish around here for ideas. Noticed over the weekend that while giving the car some stick that it didnt feel like it was pulling as hard as it should. A quick look down at the boost guage and it reads about 0.8-0.9 bar. Since then, I have comepletely removed the front bumber and gone over IC piping. Tried dialling up more boost, but just simply cant push anything more than 0.9 bar. I was running approx 1.35bar peak before. All vac lines out of the BC Solenoid look intact, but the only thing I cant really get around to is the Wastegate. Any other ideas or suggestions? Keep in mind this is a Single Turbo, so its not a blown stocker. This puts a big damper in things as I was planning on running it at Pod this weekend.

  21. I have had an HKS SSQV before and after going single, and its not ever made the noise I am talking about. Its also 100% sure not wastegate. Wish I had a vid of the sound I am talking about. Maybe a search on Supraforum's will bring it up. Adrocktt (moderator) from Supraforums has some vids of his single Supe with compressor surge if you look for it. Here's quote from a PM:
  22. That flutter sound is compressor stall. You get it when letting off throttle lightly on stock twins as well, but its not nearly as loud. Basically, its +pressure going in reverse through the turbo thats not gone through the BOV. You can adjust your BOV if its really bad because it can wear on the blades, but most big singles all flutter. I like the sound myself.

  24. ftlog.. why? LOL As has been said before.. anything can be done with a price. But, why? Cars are built for balance, and it would make it extremely arse heavy and would drive like complete poo.
  25. Been in a car with a turbo that blew and its was like a smoke bomb went off under the bonnet. Loads of white smoke everywhere. I am leaning toward a blown Intercooler pipe as well. Make sure to check them all!
