  1. I nearly bought this exact plate last week till I found out I couldnt use it on a 93 TT. I guess I will have to go SUP too, is there any other options we're allowed at our car ages that anyone else uses? I've seen 50PRA but I guess I'm stuffed on all but ones ending SUP? My BMW 535 has a decent plate but because Supra starts with S and is 'too young' it really throws your options out of the window doesnt it?
  2. Do I need to buy a head unit for 6 speakers for a '93 TT JDM Supra, I see they have 4 large speakers and 2 small, but dont know if the two small piggy back from the other main fronts? Any help would be appreciated
  3. But the white box is still immovable so i guess its screwed in to the car physically somewhere? I didnt want to have the whole dash removed just to fit a stereo but its this the best way forward? Also Does anyone know where a Supra Stereo cage can be bought, I've been looking for a while and am more liely it seems to find a herd of wild unicorns eating pixie grass than one of these for sale. Even ebay has let me down for once. If anyone has a spare one (bearing in mind its a JDM, not sur eif this makes a difference) I'd happily buy it. Also do stereos for SUpras need 6 speaker output, as Supras have six speakers of course, or are people ignoring the 2 smaller ones on the dash or maybe the wiring splits to both at the front?
  4. Yer I saw this, you can get a comparable system with rear camera and loads more for about £200 elsewhere though, not Pioneer but a high review bit of kit. I also avoid anything thats even remotely 'Apple' related. There's defo a white box on mine, maybe yours is a UK spec which differs? I went for this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FD8R0FQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In hindsight you can get a single DIN with a pop out screen which does everything a double din does and would be a heck of a lot easier to fit in the lower mount with a spacer but I wanted a double din flush to the dash as it would look amazing. Any help with this white box would be appreciated Also as a side note, the Supra seems to have 6 speakers, do I need a stereo with x6 output or are any doubled up like the two tiny ones on the dash? I've tried to upload a pic of the white box
  5. Yer the price was a bit dramatic. Trouble is Halfords dont sell any stereos with DVD or I would, they charge £60 for fitting on a Supe So I had to buy the head elsewhere. Any ideas on this white box thing and how to move it? Mines a JDM TT if that makes a difference, not sure why it would
  6. Hi All I know this will have been covered to death but I've bought a double din stereo and the aperture is slightly too small on the Supes dash to fit it physically in, but even if I did the stereo (and it seems pretty much all Double Dins) would hit a white box behind the dash which protrudes into the top section. Obviously I can just make the aperture bigger with a file but what does everyone do about the white box which assumedly houses the blower controls or something? Is it move-able? I suppose I could swap the new stereo for a single din and a spacer if I have to? Is there any current double dins with dvd etc built in that just go straight in? Mine is a NaviskAuto which was a bargain and had great reviews. Any help would be really appreciated. I've just had a quote to fit it locally of £215, wow! Is it just me or does that price seem like getting F'd in the A?
  7. Thanks so much I finally decided to have them removed I just didnt want them to damage anything and came to the same conclusion. I've kept them though just in case!
  8. Hi All Just bought my third Supra, after previously owning a Mk III and another TT Mk IV I found a jet black MKIV TT and couldnt resist the urge! As we all know with buying a 24 year old car, there's a lot of work to be done! All tyres have been replaced, its had a full service, brakes stripped down and checked, timing belt checked, new plugs, loads more. Still lots to do but during the service Ihad these brass 'boost blocks' removed off the air lines - these things were allowing the turbos to boost to over 1.5 on my aftermarket gauge (and allowing the fuel cut to bang in too) and I thought it was pretty hard on the Supe so had them removed. Does anyone else have any history of these things as with it the car just flew (its pretty quick without though) if not a little roughly. Also does anyone here know of any previous owners of my car its a 93 black Supra L141 PRB and seems to have been off the road in storage for about 4 years prior to the last year or so? Steve
  9. Hi All As a new owner of the jet black 93 Supra TT Reg L141PRB I wonder if anyone knew anything about it, was a previous owner or any info on it whatsoever. This is my third Supe, having owned a Mk III and another Mk IV before, and after a break of 4 years I had to get another. Its getting hard to get a TT these days and beggars cant be choosers, its bound to have problems, I think it has a bad bearing or stuck brake already but with TLC and lots of ridiculous bills I hope to get it up to full spec shortly. Also, the previous owners put some as he calls them 'Brass Boost Blocks' on it, this is allowing it to boost up to 1.5, I dont have a Fuel Defender on it so its obviously glitching past 1 and I have wound them back down, but what the heck are these things really called and does anyone have any experience with using them? Are they safe? If so I will get a Fuel Cut Defender and bang it back up to 1.5 as it is a stunning drive at this setting but although I know they're tough and can stand a lot of pressure I dont want to strain my Supe overly. Any advice would be welcome. Cheers
