  1. Hi All How do you put a profile pic of your Supe on your account here? I see everyone else has and cant find anywhere in the options to do it, I've emailed the site and not had any answer either.

  3. Hi All Ever since I've owned my 93 JDM TT its been smokey when cold, then when its fully warmed up the smoke pretty much entirely disappears. It's not condensation, and knowing what we know about the Supe its going to be needing new valve seals. Does anyone have experience of having this done and what the cost should be? There's no other issues with it and its fine when running and warm and not causing any damage but it is a touch embarrassing and will ultimately lead to problems I'm sure. I know the parts arent too dear but labour is going to be a swine.
  4. Yes, just to confirm my garage are of course certified they're the only one where I live that will touch a Supe too, all the others seem terrified. As I bring mine up to spec I'm trying to use genuine parts as much as humanly possible even if it means importing though. Who is Keron, I assume he's on here?
  5. In my ongoing quest to get my 93 JDM TT fully up to spec before going BPU I've been trying to get my aircon working. I had it checked and the condenser was snafoo so after having to import one from the US (kaching) and having it fitted, my mechanic filled the system with UV marked gas and both pipes have leaks on corroded ends - does anyone know where I can get these two pipes, I've even tried Toyota and can only find one. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it so much. Also how do you get a picture on your profile, everyone has their Supe and I want to put mine up but cant find it in the settings anywhere.
  6. Brill I might get double decat and put some random box shroud round it then and see what happens. Thanks for the help Style. And Anabella you made me join the forum as a paid up member so you should be on a percentage or something
  7. I'd love to join the forum and happy to pay, I've just looked though and cant seem to find where on the site it is?
  8. Style - do you mean Younger than 96 the test changes by the way?
  9. It was, the fuel cut system was banging in every time I put my foot down for more than a second. The previous owners (or abusers I should say) had installed boost blocks making the turbos madly overboost. Needless to say I immediately removed this dangerous addition but now I want to upgrade the car properly - - - Updated - - - If anyone wants the boost blocks to make it boost to about 1.5 they're welcome to them by the way.
  10. Mine is a 93 TT Import I was wondering if emissions would be lenient for such an old car, is this the case then?

    Decat

I'm going BPU and most people say on a JDM to double decat, but surely my emissions wont pass the MOT will they? Why is everyone recommending to do this when I will surely get F'd in the A on my next test? Am I missing something? Are Supes now so old that emissions are very generous on them for the MOT?
  12. I've been checking the forums and there is a bit of a difference of opinion on the brake issue, some say the UK brakes give better stopping distances whereas other say just because they have more pistons the pressure is still the same due to the limitations on the fluid itself - they say the only advantage I will get is they wont overheat so quickly? Not sure who is right?
  13. I have a JDM TT and I wondered can I just buy UK brakes and fit them as they are so much better or dont they fit (I have 18 inch alloys so thats no issue but the discs have a shroud which would seem to prohibit larger ones)? I have the twin and single pots as I can see my pads and whilst I've upgraded pads discs and lines for new stopping isnt my Supes strong point. If I cant fit UK is there any upgrades that dont make me exchange intergalactic spice to pay for them? Also in a similar vein can I just buy and fit US model turbos to my JDM, they are as we all know stronger and handle more boost and I imagine are identical in dimensions. has anyone done this? 93 JDM TT
  14. So is there a limit to any PU I can do as I have a JDM Auto? Someone here is saying they only handle up to 500HP? If I spent a lot and went big single I guess I cant alter the gearing anyway so I would have a glass ceiling of performance?
  15. Cheers Mellonman but what times are you getting on that set up?
  16. Hi All As someone who owns a stock TT Supe I know there's been various forums about going BPU and APU but none of them actually mention the 'real world effects' of both and I'm sure all of us stockers need this info before making any upgrade choices. So with this in mind, and moving away from quarter times I have a couple of quezzies for those who have took the plunge: 1) We know Supes are about 5 secs/60 stock, what 0.60 do you get from say a 450hp decent BPU and a 550 Single APU 2) I assume when the science kicks in the top end will be less affected but assuming a stock has somewhere around 170mph what effect on the top end would a 450 BPU and a 550 Single APU have. The point is we love our Supes because they thrill us and we like to blat them now and again to balance the costs of owning and adoring them, but I'm not into telling everyone my HP, I just want to feel the Gs. Any info would be appreciated.
  17. I'm in Louth, the touch up bits arent bad in my untrained opinion, couple of rust spots on the bonnet, one on the rear window, you know classic Supe weak points, then theres a few scratches and the handles and spoiler base need doing, other than that its all really minor.
  18. I've been to F Paints in Louth who quoted £3200 just to touch up all the scratches and do the rust and repaint over there but the trouble is when you take a Supe anywhere everybody just visibly gets big cartoon pound signs coming out of their eyes. I'm after keeping it black its not a colour change, there's the odd bit of rust but most of the problems would go away with a full spray. Its really difficult as £3k would probs get my engine upgrades completely paid for as well. I was hoping for someone to touch u all the little problem areas for about a grand. Maybe a touch optimistic.... - - - Updated - - - Someone in the trade says MPH Body works Ltd in Grimsby are really good and fairly cheap, anyone know of them?
  19. Hi All Has anyone had their Supra re-sprayed and if so what kind of price was it? I have a Black TT Import 93 and its 90% fine but where it has problems they are really in need of attention. I've taken it to two bodywork specialists who seem to want more money for doing the problem areas than a full spray in other places. Also anyone know of any decent sprayer/bodywork people in the Lincolnshire area?
  20. 2 Sup is minimum 6000 quid, I asked for a quote! I could get my whole planned under the bonnet upgrades done for that!
  21. If you want a laugh 2 SUP is a 'minimum of £6000' I thought I would ask just for giggles. I could have my whole engine upgrades done for that and pretty much double my horses!
