Supra turbo started having problems in full boost ... I need help!
leon_83 replied to leon_83's topic in mkiv Technical
ok, i will try a smoke test from my mechanic ... hoping it can help solve the mystery I noticed, however, one thing .... disconnecting my HKS ssqv bov, and blowing inside the tube connected to it, the air does not remain sealed but vent a little ... (I blew with my mouth not with the compressor) , is this vent normal? or in any case at low pressures should they be completely sealed? -

hi guys, Unfortunately the supposed air leak is not coming from the vacuum hoses (none are damaged, or they were inserted wrong, all clips were tight) ... Only thing that is left "old" 20 years is the HKS ssqv ( I bought the kit to regenerate the internal o-ring, and a new reinforced silicone hose ). Regarding the temporary TTC mode, I had a doubt ... that is, even if I did it, it would allow me to know if there is any solenoid / vsv not working well, but not that there could be a air leak, and, above all , where it comes from .. I'm going crazy: \ -

The hose are all BF Goodridge, with high pressure and heat resistant (with the rope texture inside them). the silicone couplers are by Whifbitz. Since i have the JDM spes i change the oem BOV with HKS ssqv one -
Supra turbo started having problems in full boost ... I need help!

what do you mean by the two link pipes between turbo and intake? are you referring to the aluminum pipes or the rubber pipes that connect the aluminum pipes? because I have also replaced the original rubber pipes with silicone one(which could swell and block the flow). In addition, the turbines received the modification to the core assy by SRD, so no more ceramic assy, to withstand even the 1.2 / 1.3 bar of boost. I had read something about the temporary modification in TTC, but from what I understand it serves to rule out any problems related to the solenoids / vsv. I had thought of proceeding in steps, first check that there are no vacuum leaks, and if all the tubes are ok, proceed to check the solenoids. I'm going crazy looking for a method. -

ok ... I will try to hear if there is any leak from any pipe or duct .... and I will double check all the vacuum pipes. Could problems with the solenoids and the Vsv be ruled out? -
Hi guys, I started having a little problem on my Supra S2 (2000 late model, 2jz-gte VVT-I, 6mt., JDM Spec.). as for the changes it has totally stock engine, it has only a full bpu with Mine's ecu. The engine has approximately 67,000 km. Suddenly he seems to be having trouble reaching maximum pressure in full boost. Normally it reached 1.2 / 1.25 bar of boost, while currently it can reach 0.98, sometimes 1.15, other times 1.08 .... Even the speed in revs seems more "sluggish" than before, but beyond that it has no grumbles, it has no progression failures ... in short, it seems "alone" with less hp Even at idle, the turbo pressure gauge, which normally fluctuates between -0.4 and -0.5, is now fixed at -0.6. In short, it seems as if there is an air leak, but about 6 months ago, all the vaccum tubes were replaced, with new clamps as well. Clean all the pipes, clean the intake system and change the filter, change the spark plugs .... etc. the car was fine, and after a few months it is showing this problem. What could I check? could it be the solenoids / VSVs? Thanks in advance guys

I have carefully read all the pages and also others on the Lexus forum ... they speak of compatible models, but no one indicates the oem part number for the various spare parts, and, for example, for the 3.615 ratio that I am looking for there are 3 codes different (including two for the same models / years): 41201-59055 41201-49135 41201-49125 .... I would not want to spend several money and then discover that they are not compatible

it is really difficult to find a UK / Euro differential with 3.58 (bif diff) and if it is found it costs a lot, plus I would have to change the drive shafts (mine is a jdm with small diff A03B). So I wanted to buy only the crown and pinion. the difference between my ratio 3.26 to 3.61 is about 10% (3.78 seems to much on the TT with v161). the problem is to understand which is the correct part number for the lexus 3.615 r&p spare part

hi guys, I am a Toyota Supra owner and I live in Italy. my Supra is a 2000 m.y., JDM spec, 2jzgte vvti engine, V161 / A03B trans / diff. Soon I will rebuild my diff. and I wanted to shorten the final drive, by installing an R&P in 3,615: 1 (currently I have a full BPU, 18 "wheels, and I don't care about top speed but to have more acceleration). Having said that, I have read everything on this page and something on the Lexus forums too, but unfortunately I have not found the answers I am looking for, and before I spend any money, I hope someone here can help me. Consulting Toyota / Lexus EPC I found this out regarding 3,615: 1 compatibility -41201-59055 (500usd): Toyota Celsior (UCF30 / UCF31-3UZFE) Soarer (UZZ40-3UZFE); Lexus GS430 (UZS190-3UZFE), LS430 (UCF30-3UZFE), SC430 (UZZ40-3UZFE) -41201-49125 (720usd): Toyota Century (GZG50-1GZFE); Lexus GS300 (JZS160-2JZGE) GS430 (JZS160-2JZGE) LS400 (UCF10 / UCF20-1UZFE) -41201-49135 (502usd): Toyota Century (GZG50-1GZFE); Lexus GS300 (JZS160-2JZGE) GS430 (JZS160-2JZGE) could you explain to me the differences between these R&P? Anyway which of these is 100% bolt on on the Supra's small 8" diff? I also read that some R&P, despite being adaptable to the Supra small diffs, are "thinner" in the crown diameter and must be flanged Thanks in advance

Hello to everyone, I need your help... I am installing the greddy profec oled ebc, and I would like to have some advice on which is the best spot from to take the boost pressure source to power the greddy oled control unit, not the solenoid. for now I have used a "T" fitting on the OEM pressure sensor tube located on the intake manifold (from the side that gives on the valve cover; many peoples use it as a source for the boost gauge. ic attached). but I would like to find a different, more reliable and direct source (the hose is only 1/8 "and therefore it could blow away). Furthermore, the greddy manual says:" For Toyota's JZ engines, Mitsubishi's 4G63 engines and engines with fuel pressure controlling solenoids, make sure to tap the pressure in between intake manifold and fuel pressure control solenoid. (do not install on the line between the fuel pressure control solenoid and fuel pressure regulator.) ". what other source can i use safely and reliably as a boost pressure source?

Many thanks....and Do you know of any company that makes a rigid collar to install instead of the OEM one?

Hi guys, I am owner of a Supra jza80 TT, JDM spec, v161 and A03b differential. Since I have a second differential A03b that I don't use, I want to use it to mount a 2-way lsd, and a shortened final drive. I wanted to know if it is possible to install the 3.77 final drive coming from the Supra differentials of the model with automatic transmission A02b or A02a. Are they completely plug and play? alternatively do you know of some site where to find the final drive for A03b and the relative rigid collar to use instead of the original one? Thanks in advance

in fact I can not even understand if it is a widebody or not, and who distributes it can not tell me much more (and I can not find information around). I would be interested to understand if it can be installed on the original front and rear fenders ....

Hello, does anyone know who makes this body kit (manufactur or dealers)? http://topbodykit.co.uk/p/5074/toyota/toyota-supra-mk--body-kit It seems like a TRD copy one. I would like to have more info about this, some reviews or other that can help me to know somethings about quality\fittings ecc.... thanks
-
I just wanted to try and figure out which is the best way to install it. some use a T to connect wastegates, others plug the first and only use the second. I also read about vsv bypass mode and I wanted to understand what it was and if it was a good change to do
-
Hi everyone, I've just bought this greddy electronic boost controller to complete my full BPU mod.: 1st and 2nd decat 3" catback Walbro 255LPH FMIC colder plugs external hks BOV single hks intake kit Mine's ECU so i decided to purchase this greddy Profec oled from a friend of mine because I paid less than half. what I would like to know is how to install this EBC on my 2jzgte with the original turbines that operate sequentially? Does i really need to do the VSV bypass mode? I ask this because I often read that the only ebc for the twin stock are the HKS ..... some say it is better to do the vsv mod... in short, I would not want to mess up My Supra has a JDM spec, 2jzgte VVTI, manual 6 sp. Thanks
-
No rca, but steering column and driveshaft, because on my previois car i've had this problem when lowered the ride height
-
Hi guys, since I bought the supra with a lowered coilovers, I would like to know if it requires a steering rack and diveshaft spacers to align them to the new vehicle's height. for example on the previous s2000 with lowering over 2cm were necessary. thank you

Thaks gor replies. I know tha these kits must be wired on stock wires with the elimination of the stock ignitor. This is not a problem since i want to do this upgrade on the standalone ecu. So, to improve the performance of the stock ignition system, ther'a way?
-
Hi, i am trying to find more info about a coil on plug system for my 2jzgte vvti engine. I saw several supra who did this upgrade https://www.platinumracingproducts.com/product/complete-kit-1j-and-2j-vvti/ And the same system but with Audi R8 cop Other that there are the Ignition Project kit https://www.ignitionprojectsusa.com/products/ip-hexa-pac-for-toyota-2jz-gte-1jz-gte-engine-sku-ip-h137607 I know that these system must be wired into oem wires and does not support the oem igniter ( and in the case of wiring on oem ecu, the tachometer does not works anymore ) So i would like to know what do you think about this upgrade? what are the possible pros and cons? which guarantees the best choise between reliability, efficiency and power?
-
Oh yes...the tuner is major "problem". There aren't many supra in italy and the tuners doesn' t have many experience on 2jz expecially on vvti. So the first thing is to find a good one that can work on the ecu first. And in italy the aem and ecumaster are the two most used in tuning. And the ecu master is the best bang for the buck. So i want ask on it, expecially who used/tuned/have it on 2jz gte vvti jdm one
-
Hi, hi boyght the hks 4501-RA002 std type as show on hks site, vompatible for vvti, but does not work. But thereisn't a big problem since i'll Think to go with a standalone and i am searching for more info as possible as request on first post ( many people said me that the fcd can't work properly on vvti jap spec )
-
Hks one and doesn' work....and no one can get me the right info for the right fcd for my engine spec. So i asked for a standalone ecu and tuning fine the engine
-
I recently made a bpu mod on my supra (2jzgte VVTi jdm spec 2000 m.y.). I installed hks fuel cut defender but without results (the car often sobbed, and still cut, as if the fcd did not work on this car). Is my car having some problems or does the fcd not work properly on this model?without looking for alternatives, I thought directly of a specific standalone. what do you recommend? I read (and like) about ecumaster .... but I have seen that many go with aem, link, proefi ... keep in mind that maybe in 1 or 2 years I would like to opt for a single turbo and about 600hp. the car has: -fmic -hks suction kit for vvti -1 colder ngk spark plugs -hks evc ez2 boost c. -1st and 2nd downp. with 3 "catback -hks ssqv no recirculating the car already had the ssqv not recirculated ... I read that it can create problems on the vvti, but sincerely runs smoothly, does not stall or pulls while driving. Thanks
