Toyota still has most of the bearings for the V160, gears and synchros are sold out though. I recently did the front input shaft bearing in one, and front and output shaft seal. Parts all from Toyota. Also i have all synchro's lying from Syncrotech for another V160 i'm soon to be changing for a mates box. So the V160 game is not all dead. In worst case, bearings and seals should be possible to get from a bearing shop. I know that a lot of the tractor mechanics get their special bearings from those.

I've been told that V160/161 transmissions are in stock at Toyota in Germany, brand new for around 21.400 £... Also i've been told that it's the same trans which is sitting in the Skyline R34 apart from the clutch housing and transfer case - though i don't have any experience with it myself!

Anyone running dual intakes or a 4 inch on a bpu car?

I've made a custom "airbox" for my A80. It guards for all of the hot air from the engine, and also meets with the danish law regarding open air filters (open filters are not allowed on the street...). This way i keep the open air filter sound and i love the looks of the green HKS mushroom filter. Still kind of prototype, have thought of making it in a better way with other materials. Made of aluminium. -
I've got Work Emotion Kiwami in the Ash Titan Bronze colour, and i think they're perfect on a white car. I do think white wheels fit a white car nice too.

Cool thanks a lot! Is it correct, that amongst all the OEM diff's on the JZA80, this is the strong one?

Hey guys. I need help to find out what type of diff that is in my Supra. I've taken down the diff case to change the side seal, since it is leaking oil. Also i want to change the diff oil as a part of servicing the whole car before summer. But i want to know if it's just the OEM Torsen LSD or if it's an aftermarket diff, which may need a special sort of oil? When the car was bought at the Japan auction, it was typed in the spec list, that it had an "aftermarket diff". So that's why i'm concerned if it is the OEM or really is any aftermarket? Cause i found out, that the "aftermarket clutch" it also should've had, is just an OEM Toyota clutch. So i wonder if the diff is also just the factory one? The car is from factory with "B03B" differential. 8.7'' - 220mm, 3.267:1, B (Torsen LSD). The current diff has these numbers on it (cannot find anything from them on Google): - 0031-3601695 - 34-0530 Thanks in advance!

I've sent you an email.

Hey guys For some reason, the button to turn off "Slip control" in my Supra has been taken out. So i called my Toyota parts dealer about it, and they seem to struggle a bit with the shorter japanese Vin number. He did though find a part number on the button i need, but he could'nt see if it is the "Slip cont off" or "Trac off" button. It is pretty expensive, so i want to be sure before i order it. Does anyone know if the buttons fit to the same connector, or how do i find out which of the buttons my car was born with? The "Slip cont" light is blinking when driving, so i assume that i have to find the "Slip cont off" button!? The part number he gave me is: 84988-14020 I might think though, that it's the button for Euro spec model? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the help guys! I've now ordered Work Emotion Ultimate Kiwami for my Supra, in the Ash Titan Bronze colour. Sizes i went for: Front: 8,5x18 ET30 Rear: 9,5x18 ET38 I already have 265/35 tires for the rear, and will probably go for 235/40 at the front. Cheers
-
So you say that ET38 would be better to choose, than going with ET30 at the front? I did, after hours of searching, find a picture of a JZA80 with what appears to be 8,5x18 ET38 at the front, and i think it looks like it fits nicely!?
-
Hey Syco I've attached a picture of how the front wheels line with the arches in front, front size is as mentioned 9,5 wide and ET10. I don't have a similar photo of the rear wheels, but it is pretty much the same problem in the rear with 10,5 wide and ET12. The arches are rolled yes.

I have recently recieved my Supra JZA80 from Japan, and i'm sooo happy! I't came with some very cool Wedssport TC105N wheels, but the offset on those are very bad. Front: 9,5x18 ET10, Rear: 10,5x18 ET12, they're rubbing the fenders badly and sticking out too much.. So i am looking for new wheels, and have fallen in love with Work Emotion Ultimate Kiwami in bronze. The sizes i'm looking for is: Front: 8,5x18" Rear: 9,5x18" I've found out that ET/offset 38 is perfect for the rear, but i cannot decide which offset for the front? I can choose between offset 30 or 38, but which one will fit the best? It's running on HKS hypermax coilovers, and i'm not going for any extreme ride height, just don't want to rub the fenders! Thanks in advance!

Hey Fitz My bad, it IS a V160, i've corrected it in the text. Still learning on the Supra platform numbers..

Hey all My name is Steffen, 25 years old and i live in the northern part of Denmark. I recently bought my first ever Supra, which also is my no. 1 dream car. So i registered on this forum to follow you other Supra owner's projects and for technical knowledge on the model. I bought it through JPDjapan.com, a well known danish import firm. From today i still have to wait about 1-2 weeks before i can pick her up, the waiting time have been so hard! I have always been a hardcore car guy, and have always been a big fan of japanese cars and japanese car culture in general. Daily i drive a Toyota Carina E 2,0 with coilovers, wide JapanRacing JR10 wheels and such. I work as a car mechanic, and in the spare time i also have got a little workshop with a good mate, who recently bought a Silvia S15 - so the Supra's going to get some good company.. About the car. It's a Jap Spec. Supra RZ from 93, 3.0 TT non VVTI with 6 speed V160 transmission. Spec. list: Discharge headlights Aftermarket suspension Aftermarket 18 inch wheels (Wedssport TC105N) Aftermarket muffler (HKS Silent Hi-power) Aftermarket navigation Aftermarket air cleaner Aftermarket Intercooler (Greddy) Aftermarket diff and clutch The future plans is more performance wise, cause i really like the way the car looks now. I want to keep it with the hybrid turbo setup, but i dream of getting a upgraded hybrid setup and maybe around 400-500 HP. I want it to be driveable as a daily. Cheers!
