  1. Hi there, First of all - forgive me if this info is available elsewhere - I did tried to find it and generally failed. Im looking for someone experienced and reliable - ideally as close to South Wales as possible - to install and map an ECU on the basic NA-T setup within next couple of months (the car is not ready yet). Also - I'm in a need for an uprated fuel pump - I was advised to use TT - is it the 195130-1020 or 23221-46110? Is it best sourced from Toyota directly? Is it plug and play? I'd be grateful for opinions on other options. Walbro seems to be somewhat cheaper - are they plug and play too? At this moment I'm looking to stick with stock JDM injectors as they should be sufficient for now, but will be upgraded in the future. Many thanks! Max
  2. Hi guys, just to let you know me and my Mrs will arrive a bit late tomorrow - ETA 8:30PM - apologies. Sadly, I need to get to work Sunday morning too, so I'll have to cut short on the party side. Just dont get too drunk by then as as I need to see all your wagons! Thats my first meeting after all Have a safe ride. Max
  3. ellis. Im embaressed to say you were absolutely right. The left panel switch needs to be in as well for it to operate (seems right panel just sends a signal to the left panel), but the window was just switched off. I wouldnt say I wasnt aware of this switch, as Ive seen it countless times, but never used it and quite honestly havent even crossed my mind. THANK YOU works again!
  4. Thanks for the response. If you mean drivers side window, it operates as normal. If you mean the passenger window drivers side switch, its not pressed, simply doesnt work either nothing happens, no noise.
  5. Hi there, I had a car for a full valet and got some problems since. Another one I have just noticed is passanger window doesnt work at all from neither switch. Drivers is fine. I was looking to test out if its a power motor, a switch or something else. I have managed to check the voltage on the cable connected to the motor and it seems to be very low, variates between 1-3v, drivers side cable provides proper 12v. Tried to connect 12v straight to the motor as well but doesnt do anything. Id be grateful for any information as to what else to try before I'll get replacements and if the above proves the motor is dead? What could affect the voltage? What else to try? Thanks!
  6. hm including postage Paul?

    Dash mats

Im using similar ones (more like a gel type) - ony by my bed and one in a supra to hold a phone. In a car they stick to the phone very well. Its actually difficult to take it off. Got a phone with removable battery cover and sometimes the cover will stick too much and stay in place! As to the bed scenario - as long as the mat is in vertical position it does the job. I got a shelf over my head and I have tried to attach a phone to the bottom of it and it gives after few minutes. Hope it gives an idea of how strong it may be. Also - it does get dirty and loses its attributes then. You need to wash it in warm water and it works again.
  10. Something I was advised myself - check with local companies that refurbish alternators. Paid £45 recently and few hours job and all works again. New alternator is pricey (£300-£500), even when you're looking for a refurbished one you have to send the old one back, so its still around £150.
  11. I had mine refurbished locally recently for £45. Its hard to find a place where you can just get a new alternator without shipping back the old one. Try to search locally - something I havent thought about (been advised by my friend when I was moaning I cant just get a new one) and it took few hours to take it out, refurbish and fit back in.
  12. Its a seriously good work. Cant wait to finish the end product.
  13. I ended up refurbishing my alternator at the local specialist and all fixed. Many thanks for your help guys
  14. Thanks Mike2JZ. Last question - since I need to replace it Ive got a choice either to recondition or swap out. If swapping out I may as well upgrade. My car is N/A at the moment, but I dont like to spend money twice. If I'd like to add some extra toys to the engine in the future (no cash atm), is it worth upgrading to something like this one? 160A alternator I only assume turbo and non turbo are fully compatible or the same? If I'd go N/A-T in the future will the standard do or better go for more amperage?
  15. Well well well, I have tested with the engine off and the voltage was 12.3v and with engine on... 11.7v with revving making no difference. I was worried sick over last two days and you all have helped within hours! I'll search for a thread on how to safely take it out. Thank you all!
  16. I didnt, I just assumed that if I can start a car no problem, then the battery should be ok
  17. Hi guys, I was slowly driving down the hill the other night and suddenly under no load at all 5 lights came up on the dashboard. They dont seem to make sense to come up all at the same time. These are: Master Warning Light (fair enough - due to others) Oil Can Over Oil - Low Oil Level Warning Light - checked oil level and is within the range. I got slightly wet engine, but no patches anywhere. Topped it up just in case, no difference. Battery Symbol - Discharge Warning Light - battery is only few months old and the car starts no problem. Pipe With Wavey Heat Lines Above - CAT Temperature Warning Light - comes up as soon as I'll start the car, shouldnt it come up when its hot? Car With Rear Light On - Rear Light Failure Warning Light - havent had a chance to check all lights (I'll do that in the evening), but I dont think there is an actual issue. m pretty sure when it came up originally there was also low oil pressure light on, but its gone now. As a summary - lots of lights but the car starts and sounds normally. I have checked main fuse box and all was good. The main 120A was a bit green, so Ive cleaned it, but it certainly didnt look like an issue and the lights are still on. I am out of ideas. Havent had any of this type of issues and now all these lights came up, this just doesnt make sense and doesnt look or feel like an actual issue to me (especially that they all came up in a same moment), more like electrical fault, but no idea where to look for the answer. I will check internal fuse box next, but I wouldnt imagine cat or oil pressure is anything to do with internal fuses? Thanks! Max

  20. As another update, while working on the temp dial I have resoldered all defogger light connections and it was all needed to get it back to work. I have also decided to try to install some similar sized chinese digital clock. With a bit of luck I may get it to work. As to the telltale's harness, I'll take it to electrician to redo. As a test I have managed to hold cables in place and start a car. Lights go off (so at least I know no serious issues with the car), but no ABS light. It either doesnt work or... has all Supras had ABS installed as standard?
  21. Forgot to take a pic during work! Its just 2 of these soldered in and placed in the controller circle: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262762466125?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=561727685991&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT 3mm constant blue I got (as the rest of my dash is in blue). Works fine.
  22. Thanks Stevie. Jellybean, I actually got an issue with heater control light too. My predecessor already soldered normal 12v led bulbs onto it and they died. I aim just to swap em out, as there is solder on the connection so trying to clean it up would prob cause more mess. So - an idea, but more of a one way road. Will stick a pic later on when I'll get on with actually doing it as new bulbs came in just now.
  23. Heyy, partial success. The unit is fine, but during refitting one of the lights have blinked. That pointed me to playing with harness a bit more and it turned out some cables are damaged just behind the harness. When connected at one certain angle it makes a connection and both oil lights came up. I will have to redo the harness and hopefully this will resolve the problem. Still - not sure how to redo it and not sure what lights shall I expect when the car is off, in ignition or when turned on? Could anyone send me a quick video with the procedure? I would be most grateful.
