http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-1995-3-0-Manual-NA-28767-Miles-/112178018932?hash=item1a1e54ba74:g:C9wAAOSwal5YDLoC Low mileage might lead to a few gremlins that need ironing out but seems un-chavved which goes a long way. Or hold off a bit longer and wait for Kendos to have a few pics as it seems to have received a lot of love.

Really looking forward to following this. Have a feeling I'll be going down a similar route in the years to come. Amazed the W58 is holding that power though. That paint job looks the nuts too.
-
Yeah, cars coming out looking like Frankenstein. Worse still is his MOT shadyness, from that thread he's very clearly passing cars that shouldn't be going through, that's criminal, let alone shady. This has made me want to find a vehicle inspector for this weekend... Any recommendations? RAC/AA don't want anything to do with 20-year-old cars.
-
Holy hell. What a bloody mess! Gotta admit though, who goes to buy a car then buys and drives off in a different one with nothing more than an "agreement"!? Found this in that thread, looks much more damning http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?263371-car-not-as-advertised-horny_devil Urgh... sellers like this... it would break my heart to wind up with a POS. Doesn't seem like there's any honesty in this market (outside forums in fairness).
-
Restless Kustoms or the bloke who was originally selling it?
-
Flipping it for profit is one thing, some people need money freed up fast and a quick-sale is what they're there for. Flipping them without listing the 20 faults the previous owner had kindly mentioned for a MUCH higher price is quite sad. Oh and "excitement" advertising is from traders generally grates on me. i.e - "IT'S LOVELY, IT'S BRILLIANT, IT'S IMMACULATE, EVERY SINGLE OWNER FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS HAS BEEN A GRANNY. THEIR PRICES ARE GOING THROUGH THE ROOF. 30K 50K 100K, WHO KNOWS!?!?! EYE-CATCHING HEAD-TURNING MIND-BENDING BUY BUY BUY. JUST IMPORTED THISMORNING 4 WHOLE PAGES OF SERVICE HISTORY ONLY 46 OWNERS FROM LAST THURSDAY STUNNING EXAMPLE MUST BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED". Got a bit carried away
-
I don't need to talk down the value on them mate. A flick through the sold section on ebay/forums will do it for me. As for the 40k (after fees), that's possibly one of the most collectable/low mileage examples in the world right now. It's apples/oranges, as long as there are "things" collectors will be paying stupid money for the rarest of "things".

If selling a Supra is as hard and depressing as trying to buy one I think I'll nip off down the Nissan dealership! Genuinely feels like my whole life has been absorbed by ebay, sellers and Tom--Harvey. I'm taking your word for it guys... hope this car better be worth it!!!
-
Nahhhh. Almost nothing is budging at those prices. I've been staring at the same array of cars for months now of which I think only 1 sold (which was exceptional in fairness). You'll find something nice for less mate, just takes a long old time.
-
Aw mate I'm sorry if I came across like that! I was half-asleep typing on my tablet in bed!

I distinctly remember a clean TT Triptonic struggling to find 10k last month. Will find a link. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?331965-2000-Toyota-Supra-VVTI-Twin-turbo-Tiptronic-SOLD and another- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?336014-Facelift-vvti-tiptronic-2000-plate and this was in the warmer parts of the year!
-
That sounds like a pretty fun opportunity indeed. If the biggest red-flag on a Supra advert is "sparce details" you're probably onto a winner
-
Again, high quality, fresh import, VVTI, facelift - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/toyota-supra-rz-s--high-quality-fresh-import-twin-turbo/6360608 and again, dealer prices

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/toyota-supra-2jz-gte/6330815 A stock TT on ebay just sold for £8,500 which looked really clean (and this was an auction). No idea where you got 13k from as to be honest, they're really not that expensive. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/twin-turbo-auto--super-low-genuine-miles--one-owner-for-last-18-years/5812621 This one has 20k miles and is bone stock! It doesn't get better than that, and they're still only asking £13k, and Tom Harvey are notoriously shitty for outrageous mark-ups.
-
Edit: Removed my whole post because I've just seen you're currently dailying a 700hp GTR. Forget everything I just said.
-
Big difference between buying a "toy" car you'll get your money back on, and putting £2,600p/a into somebody else's pocket through insurance. Think of it like this, would you still choose to own a Supra if it depreciated by £2,600 in value every year without question? If yeah, crack on
-
On a JDM or UK? Mate..... I'm not gunna lecture you on finances (they're your business) and putting money into a Supra isn't an inherently bad idea. But there's very few scenarios in which spending £2,600 on insurance is a good idea. If you're in one of those few scenarios then congratulations, and don't forget to post pics when you get one!
-
I remember from my days of "can I afford to insure a Supra yet" it was ~£3,500 pretty much until I was 22 anyway?
-
Yeah I saw this and it kinda ticked me off. I spoke to the owner on the phone and he seemed so bloody nice, certain traders are definitely much worse than others but I can't help but think it's just bad sport. Flipping and profiting off people, especially those who're actually pricing their car well... it all contributes to price manipulation (and let's just be honest, they're not worth more than £5,000). They're just not. It was up for one night and Nash was over the next morning... oh well, early bird gets the worm. Side note, I can't see it going. There's been several similar to it priced equally ridiculously that didn't budge after months. £7,000 can get a lot of car, I really struggle to imagine what type of market this car would appeal to. They're too slow for serious enthusiasts, they're too overpriced for "I just want to say I own a Supra", they're too brash for the elder gent who wants a classic car with some heritage, they're too old and the competition is way too stiff for "I want a cool targa-top cruiser" (especially at this time of year) and its got way too many miles for "collectors". Meh... who knows.
-
Lovely looking car mate. You're a bloody long way away but I'll drop you a PM later tonight after I've had a good read over. Edit: Just had a flick through the project logs, looks like a lot of nice work mate.
-
Yeah I'm viewing it next weekend. The mileage being that low is quite a bad thing though, as it doesn't really add any value to me, but means some people would pay a lot more for it... Hopefully the exhaust problem is enough to put these kind of buyers off though. Does it still always make more sense to save and buy TT rather than convert? PS, it genuinely feels like there's an army of people on these forums desperate for me to get a bloody car. You fellas are awesome. Can't wait to get this ride started. Edit: Whelp that shot up fast.
-
Yeah apparently he sold it to his brother this morning.
-
The joke continues. It sold this morning.
-
I caved and booked a viewing with the red TT in Manchester I feel guilty, don't judge me Scooter! It seems mechanically sound, paintwork doesn't bother me as frankly the more deteriorated the exterior the less attention it will probably attract. I'd rather risk eating repair bills for 2 months than spend 2 hours every evening swarming over marketplaces (and I think my girlfriend would have killed me if I kept umming and arring any longer) THIS COULD BE IT BOYS

Aside from Autotrader/Pistonheads/Forums/Gumtree/Ebay/Cars&Classic are there any other classifieds anybody can suggest?
