  1. As the engine build is approaching the power goals are going up day by day, my s369sxe should only be good for just under 1000hp, looks like i'll need to go bigger... Unsure on what to go for as the sounds of the borgwarner really out-do my last turbo (precision 6266) The borgwarners are alot cheaper than the precisions which made me hesitate at first but they just perform very well, higher than my expectations if i'm honest. Just looking for some opinions as i'm right in the middle with what to get.
  2. Have all still, except the manifold and external wastegate
  3. OEM GTE Inlet manifold - £100 Power house racing fuel rail - £100 (comes with 6an lines) Single turbo 3” downpipe and midpipe (has whiftbitz 4”-3” adapter on it in the picture) - £150 collection from Harlow, Essex

    Syvecs vs link

So i've spent the last couple days researching more into it, speaking with romain etc and it just seems syvecs is far better than the other options... as i have time till i order the engine internals i can hold out waiting for an s6/s6plus to come up used, if one doesn't i'll be going brand new of course but it atleast gives me a window of waiting for cheaper to come up.

    Syvecs vs link

How much did it cost you all in if you don’t mind me asking? I think the s6plus is a fair bit cheaper

    Syvecs vs link

Agreed there I shot him a message regarding the same question as the post, when he has time he’ll hopefully be able to make sense of it to me

    Syvecs vs link

Most likely romain at syvecs as he’s my neighbour

    Syvecs vs link

I mean I wouldn’t call going link scrimping but I get the syvecs is better over link, just don’t know the absolute ins and outs on what the syvecs offers over the link
  9. So it’s been covered in the past but there’s new options from both Brands and with technology only advancing let’s cover it again... I’m in the process of ordering all my bits for my rebuild/forge build aiming for the 1xxx hp mark but I need to out the AEM infinity as I’m not a fan, so it needs a replacement. The new s7plus is out for syvecs but it just seems a bit out of my price range, by the time you factor in sensors, mapping and the unit it’ll be around 4.5-5k with an already approaching 20k bill it just isn’t do-able for me. Now link... they do a plug and play supra kit which im not sure on pricing maybe someone knows and I can update this post? But from what I hear they’re half the price of the syvecs unit. Any information on either brand, wether it be prices, pros and cons I’ll update the post so it can be a future guide for anyone needing to know.
  10. I have the complete cd009 setup, my only complaints are the noise/the shift feel.... Now i've been looking at the magnum-F from grannas and it'll set me back around 8k all to get rid of some noise/shift feel. My buddy darren just built his cd009 conversion and he said it sounds nothing like my one (must be due to being twin plate) and he has gone with the gktech shifter.... it feels AMAZING nothing like my shifter... Heres a video i made of how terrible my shifter is so i advise everyone to stay away from it to be honest, it was a fenfab shifter? maybe its been changed in its design if he even still makes it but the one i have is disgusting. it has no reverse lockout, shifts going across to different gears are to short, feel like your going to money shift everytime you change gear. I'll be ordering the GKTech shifter when my car goes in for engine rebuild etc and will save myself the 8K on the magnum-F
  11. Consider buying a broken one and rebuilding at jacks transmissions
  12. I figured but I’d the link still ok since I’m not trying to support them good or bad?
  13. Some good things to take onboard with the inlet manifold thanks boys.... I asked real street to “build” me a 1000hp engine and these are the parts they have laid out for me... 14. Right ladies and gentleman it’s been discussed many many times... Inlet manifolds, I want to know what everyone’s using. Hypertune is all I seem to see when trying to buy but I refuse to spend £2000 on something that I have HEARD is not required since the stock inlet doesn’t restrict any power? Maybe someone with more knowledge on the subject can shed some light on it? As after all what I’ve HEARD is internet research after all. I would like an aftermarket inlet but going for 1000hp in the future is going to cost me an arm a leg and a kidney, don’t want to throw in a testicle while I’m there On another note whilst I’ve got your undivided attention... with engine builds in the UK what compression should we build for as our fuel in comparison to the US is frankly quite shite, bare in mind I won’t be running ethanol. Would love any advice/knowledge you can put in to this post

    The LHDs are about $110k

I’m a big gamer on PC so I talk to ALOT of Americans on discord with my supra being my profile picture they all ask if it’s mine, how much I payed, what I’ve done to it etc and they go into it saying you cannot find them for less than $80k So if you was to say it costs around $20k to do the transport process landed and registered in the US your now left with $60k and converted that’s £45k not sure how the tax’s will work our but even if you have to pay VAT that’s £45k - £9K = £36k for a twin turbo 6 speed? But this is all based off of gamers that play video games in there spare time that just enjoy cars and YouTube videos so take it with a pinch of salt

To be honest though if you think about it, if you boost up to say 1000hp the car literally isn’t worth selling in the UK you’d realistically want to sending it to the US (which is exactly what I’d do if it came to selling) and the US boys hate the v160s compared to the t56s especially with the new magnum-f Joel grannas offers the shifter on it pretty much sits exactly where it’s meant to with a tiny 1inch arm added on and I’d say from looks it shifts better than a v160 With saying all this I’m against the v160 purely from experience of TRYING to buy a supra (bare in mind I’ve only owned 1 supra) I went to view 5-6 supras before I bought my one from George and 3 of which were v160s 2 of those v160s were f*cked crunching gears, and synchros obliterated as I tried to drive off.

    T56 magnum

this may of been an option but I already have most of what I need and I’m low compression from cracked rings and my valves are leaking so it needs a rebuild and for the price of standard parts to forged parts I may aswell build build so

    T56 magnum

I mean you make a valid point but I’ve also gotta spend another 10k on the engine build/brake kits etc so it’s all stacking up and almost becoming not do-able, so I’m trying to save money where I can that’s all

    T56 magnum

So pricing everything up it’s going to be 6500£ shipped (without VAT or import duty) which is a hefty sum of money.... on a completely irrelevant note... totally not related to this post what so ever..... If one was to put a gearbox conversion kit in a container from America and shipped it to here and picked it up myself would that be a way of missing VAT?

No no thats perfect i emailed him already mainly asking about the price of a kit sent to me and which parts i'd need with what i already have. Thanks for your input though mate

Yeah now it’s become more of a “in thing” the premium put on the price for the swap kits will be down I need to see what’s around for a swap kit since I’m already manual I won’t have to worry about the pedal, interior panel and master cylinder so

Think I’m going to out my cd009 and go for a t56 magnum as it’s much more suited to my driving and the power I’m going to be aiming for, has anyone got a t56 magnum in there supra that could PM me as I have a few questions Cheers
  24. Totally agree, i already looked at it and knew i'd have to change the wastegate pipe, i just wasn't sure on if the flow would be good enough throughout the whole manifold for around 1000hp.
