  1. I’m no mechanic so to be honest I have no idea. I have ordered one so I’ll get it fitted and see if it makes a difference. Do you know if you can adjust it whilst driving? i.e. get to say 70mph and manually adjust the needle.
  2. Sorry, forgot to add, it’s a J-spec NA auto.
  3. I bought the car a few years back and immediately noticed that the speedo was out. Basically, 30mph (true speed) reads 36mph on the speedo, 60mpg reads 69mph on the speedo, 70mph reads 79mph on the speedo, etc. I have had it reset twice but it has made no difference. Anyone had a similar issue or any ideas what’s wrong and how to fix it?

  6. Ah so some mixed reviews! It really isn’t in the best shape. I think I’ll probably remove it, clean it up and then look to use some heat reflective material or try source a new one.
  7. The insulation under my bonnet looks a little worse for wear. Some of it sags and some clips are broken. It’s still functional but the question is, ‘Do I remove it or replace it?’ I would really like to just remove it but would this cause issues in the winter with it starting or is it likely to cause issues with the paint on the bonnet due to heat? Any advice would be welcome, cheers.
  8. Coolant level is fine. I have a new thermostat kicking about so could try that I suppose.
  9. Car only blows warm air when the heater is on the hottest setting. It is warm enough to warm the car if that makes sense just not hot as you would expect. Blows cold when on cold setting. Thermostat maybe? Any ideas?
  10. Hi guys, I bought some rear spats from eBay and I've had them professionally sprayed silver (Code 199) to match the colour of my car. I bought them because the ones on the car needed removed for some welding done and I was told that they would probably break when they were removed. Thankfully, they didn't break and I was able to re-fit them so the new ones I bought are spare. They are brand new and the finish on them is superb. I bought them for £60 and the paint job cost £80 (mates rates). Selling for £120. If you're interested, want photos or want further info, I can be contacted on 07545186703. Thanks
  11. Nothing came from the above so still looking for an ECU if anyone has one going?!
  12. Yeah, that's him. I was texting him regarding the car and when I questioned him on how long he had owned it for, he broke all contact! Noticed him selling a few other cars on eBay too, always claiming they're relatives cars for sale etc. Dodgy!
  13. So bought my second Supra a few months back from a guy in Nottingham (I live in Aberdeen). It's a silver N/A Auto import (really need to get my profile pic updated!). According to the V5, it's had 8 previous owners. The guy I bought the car from (Kris) claimed to have owned the car for sometime, however, I'm a bit sceptical! In-fact, I actually believe he had it for no time at all and just wanted to make a quick buck! He couldn't really give me any information on the cars past. The reason I'm looking for previous owners is just to get some sort of history for it. Maybe even be able to trace some form of original documentation too or major work carried out in the past. Car is fine, just interested so if it rings a bell to anyone, let me know.
  14. I can't help you with the length of the pin but what might help is that I recently bought new shoes and I also needed new fittings. I bought a complete set of fittings for under £10 from buycarparts.co.uk, pins included. Hope this might help you out.
  15. I had two kids once mock me because it wasn't a turbo and it was automatic! Youth these days! Usual stuff like nice car, can I take a picture. I once noticed a guy with his phone up recording as I overtook him and gave me a thumbs up as I passed. Oh, best one was a student walking into a lamp post because he was too busy staring as I passed him! Nothing from the ladies though!
  16. Hi folks, anyone got a working ECU for an N/A Auto? (1993 Import) Thanks
  17. Perfect, start with the sparks being changed first then and go from there. Thanks.
  18. I was driving home this morning from work (only a few miles drive), halfway home the engine suddenly dropped in power and a stuttering noise started. I stopped the car and it sounds like a misfire at idle and when it’s running. It’s a really hard noise to describe but it sounds rough almost like a gargling noise. I switched the engine off then back on and it made no difference. No warning lights or other indicators that there is a problem. This afternoon I started it back up from cold and it ran fine. As soon as the engine began to rise in temperature, the misfire noise returned. When applying the throttle, it’s more prominent. Firstly, it’s a 93’ NA auto. I’m aware that there is a leak at the rocker cover gasket and new seals are on order. A friend has suggested that this leak could have caused the spark plugs to flood. They will get changed. I’m really not very technically minded and a lot of things I read on the forum from those who have had similar issues completely confuses me. I’m also aware that there could be many reasons that cause the engine to misfire. Anyone had similar and any suggestions? I’ve only owned the car a few months and up until now it has run as it should. I have no service history to tell me when the plugs or any other components were replaced. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  19. So, took my car to my local garage for some work done and it has been noticed that it has no rear anti-roll bar fitted. I am not sure if it ever had one in the first place or not or whether it has been removed! (No idea why that would happen). There has been nothing picked up about it on previous MOT's and there is a suggestion that it doesn't necessarily need one. Anyone any idea? Does it need one/is it better to have one? The whole thing is likely to cost a pretty penny but if it's no huge issue, I'll leave it as is. Sorry, my technical knowledge on all this stuff is very limited! The car is a 93', N/A, Import.
