Dont know how true this is, but I was told that Continental are allegedly in trouble (finance wise I assume, I didnt ask) and I should watch and see as the prices of their tyres would drop a hell of a lot.
-
Thing is, its not you or I that we should worry about. Its the brainless bastards who go out, get volleyed, then think they go 10 rounds with every person that walks past, proving that they cant really handle their ale. But then I guess the argument would be why persucute everyone for the actions of a small miniority? Unforutnately, IMHO I think softening the laws would mean an increase in neanderthals like that who go round looking for trouble when theyre tanked up. But then again I may be totally wrong

Congratulations mate!

I spoke to a lady at Sky Insurance who couldnt get me any less than £3000, Im 27, have 2 cars with access to a third, and with 2 NCB living in Liverpool, supposedely in the "best" (safest) area for insurance. She said it was because of the area and the fact that Sky Insurance only really cater for the South East (or West, I cant remember) of England. She said when somewhere up north like Liverpool comes up the premium shoots up, I guess due to the underwriters. Ho-hum. I ended up going with Norwich Union direct at £1769. Bear also in mind, that my premium BEFORE I added my fiancee was around £2268, I added her (she had wrote off her car previous year) and it unbelievably it came down £500 - weird - so that may be something also to consider.

No, the c*nt took my money and never sent anything. Ive raised it with Paypal and am awaiting my money back. His name on ebay was www_ebookmanuals_com and I have his name and address, though I hardly think its worth going down to rattle someone over a few quid.... Sorry guys

Ive just bought a 2002 EPC (apparently) from ebay, though its probably exactly the same as all the others! Ill let you know what its like when I get it, and, if it is different Ill upload it somewhere.

Aw, thanks very much indeed for checking Todd, I really appreciate it! Glad to hear you have got your valves sorted

Same thing has happened to one of my Veilside Andrew racing alloys and thats exactly what I was told too. They suggested taking them to a refubishers. Ive used "Tyreweld" in the short term as Im getting some new wheels now, and this seems to have stopped the leak for the most part, though I still need to check every weekend. Id be interested to know if there is a more permanent solution.

Couldnt agree more. The poor parrot must have been petrified. What a tosser. I hope he goes into prison with an arsehole and comes out with a porthole. Wankers like this need a bloody hiding.

I did exactly the same and managed to fix it. BUT it will also invalidate your warranty. I had some pin headers (the ones xbox chips mount on) with the long gold pins, so I pulled on of them out of the pin header plastic holder. I desoldered the pin on the controller card (just heat it with a low wattage soldering iron) and pull the remains through the hole with tweezers. Then took the long pin from the pin header and manouevered it through the hole so it was placed on top of where the old bent pin was soldered to, then soldered it to make a connection where the old pin was located. You have to be careful, but it does work - its currently sitting in my server PC working away! EDIT: DOH! Trust me to post without reading the entire thread Glad you got it fixed!!

Happy Birthday guys! Hope you both have a cracking day!

Currently Saying on Sky news that police have shut the ring road, stopped people getting into Brum and have evacuated the city centre. Theyve also carried out a controlled explosion on a bus, but Sky are saying the police arent linking this to the London blasts. Hope all our Birmingham based forumites are okay.

Thanks guys! Oh gawd, so theyre around the same price as the dobule six's then! Makes my decision a bit harder as I was hoping theyd be far too expensive, or much cheaper! Who'd have thought trying to choose alloys was so stressful Cheers fellas! EDIT: Ooops, forgot to ask - Rallure - what was that website please mate? Ill go and take a look!

Hi guys, Ive been hunting for a set of wheels recently and, having gone from liking the Racing Hart CR's, to the Do-luck double-six's, until I saw these cracking examples on b'have's car. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/1959/cimg00369ah.jpg I dont suppose anyone knows what these are do they? for any help!

Usually dont even try to overtake a bike thats going at speed, no matter what it is. I dunno why, maybe I guess its in case the biker thinks "what is that wanker doing trying to keep up with me", which I guess he would be right in thinking for the most part, or maybe out of respect. Maybe I just havent got the balls If he's going quite fast then the last thing he wants is some cunt (me) in a sports car thinking he can have him off. I guess they get enough of that from the "boy racer" crew. Ive been quite lucky really, first time I saw really bad driving on a bike was last week on a motorway when a biker was going from 1st lane (which was also slip road off the motorway) into third lane, then cutting up the car in the second lane (which went straight ahead) to move back in. He did this around 3 times to seperate cars, bloody dangerous and it only got him to the lights about 10 seconds earluier than he would have go there anyway. Really stupid indeed, though I guess youd have to see it really. Aside from that though, I cant really say Ive seen too many idiots, most are courteous and only fly by me when its safe.

Happy birthday mate!!

Id be very angry if I bought an alleged 20k mile car, that really had 40k miles on it. Trading standards as Jake says - though may it have been a typo?
-
Jeez, what a nightmare. Gutted for you Jake. Hope you get it sorted to a successful conclusion soon, sad thing is, whatever it is costs money
-
Aye, it was bloody roasting here too mate. Its just started absolutely throwing it down - and its nice and cool too now

I wonder if anyone has the domain name "JEMGarageAmatuers.co.uk"? Im sorry to read about this, youve had such a lot of bother recently I would have said get an indepedent engineer out (but that would cost money) and then speak to a solicitor to see where you stand legally (but again, that would cost money) and then going to court to reclaim everything may cost even more. By the time thats over you'd be well out of pocket /shakes head at situation Their repuatition, on here anyway, is now absolute toilet. What a bunch of wankers.

Ill second this. I used to have a Rover with a T16 engine, and it was only the T16 engines that had the turbo's as far as I am aware. I also went for a Klinger, but the damn mechanic forgot to take out a restrictor located by the 4th cylinder (which you are allegdly supposed to remove when fitting the klinger - if Id used a standard one "Rover" one Id have been okay) which meant that the leak opened up again and I had the same problem. Said mechanic sadly disappeared after this into a new unit elsewhere in town (nothing shady about it - dont get me wrong!) by the time I took it back. As far as Im aware the T16's were in Rover 220 coupes and vittesse cars of 1994 and 1995 (thats all I personally know of) and perhaps early 96 (though I *think* they changed the engine to the variable valve 1.6 and 1.8 models from Aug onwards). I think the Honda was only used 92-early 94. Then from August 94 the T-series was introduced. I still have my Rover and its done 138,000 miles and still working! There is a yahoo group - "rover-coupe" (with oblique) - that is very useful and an excellent resource if you want a properly definitive answer!
