  1. Hi... Re: 2JZGTE with VVTi and first Cat removed Toyota list cylinder head bolts: 90910-02102 and cylinder head bolt washers: 90201-11018 as separate items, hence an additional cost. I'll be replacing the full set of cylinder head bolts but is there any reason to buy the washers? First time for cylinder head to come off.
  2. Hi guys, I'm unable to source a TSRM for the JDM 2JZGTE vvti timing belt installation. Possible links on this website have expired. Both camshaft pulleys have two markings: a dot and when turning the camshaft clockwise a line will appear. When referenced to the two notches on the No 4 timing plate cover, which marking is used for top dead center for No 1 cylinder? Direction of crankshaft is clockwise. If anyone can source the relevant page(s) even if in Japanese I can get it translated. Thanks...
  3. Hi, I'm only replacing the camshaft oil seals and removed the VVTi camshaft cap to make things easier. The VVTi pulley # 13050-46010 is a non serviceable part except for the oil seal for the cap bolt. When assembled it is laser aligned and must be reassembled using precision markings taken before dissasembly. You can purchase the large internal 0 ring but not from Toyota. I recently saw them listed on the Japanese yahoo auction site. There are some Youtube videos on the 2JZGTE vvti pulley dissasembly. Thanks for your reply.
  4. Re: 2JZGTE vvti Hi guys, does anyone know the torque setting for the two smaller bolts of the VVTi camshaft cap? There are four bolts that fasten this cap, two large and two much smaller, maybe alignment bolts. My Toyota dealership were unable to find out. Thanks...
  5. Hi Brian. Did you solve the issue of no power to the dash panel HVAC controls? I've just reinstalled my dashboard and have the same problem. Everything goes but the HVAC. I have permanently removed the audio system, ETC and boost guage. My Supra is a 98 RZ-S VVTi and manual. Cheers to the Supra community...
  6. Hi, I've purchased a Jspec twin turbo Airbox but not VVTi. I plan to plastic weld the MAF Sensor housing from a JZS161 Aristo VVTi Airbox which uses the same MAF Sensor. Can't do anything until April as am overseas but will let you guys know how it goes.

    Supra Airbox

Hi Gareth. I'm looking for a twin turbo VVTi Airbox for my RZ-S. I emailed a 3D printer in Auckland. From two images of a n/a Airbox, I was quoted a 'very rough' estimate of NZ $1500. Also because of difficulty in scanning the two piece item, the box would have to be painted white! But don't take this as an absolute answer. I could forward that email as there is some additional information. Good luck in finding someone who would be willing to lend their Airbox too. The n/a, twin turbo and twin turbo VVTi air boxes are different. The VVTi airbox has a MAF Air flow sensor mounting pad on the outlet tube. I haven't been able to source an Airbox ex Japan, new or used and I've been looking for about six months! SOS to all Chinese entrepreneurs...lol
  8. Hi, I noticed an image (using Tap a Talk) of your engine bay that your strut brace was identical to mine. Are you able to name the brand please? My 98 RZ-S was imported from Japan and that small detail has eluded me. My apologies for interrupting your thread. Thankyou.
  9. The n/a airbox outlet is a different diameter to the twin turbo inlet pipe. However the real issue is the intercooler pipe clearance which requires major removal and re-designing of the box after the air filter. I've got another six months to think about that before I can drive the car in anger so...
  10. That's a Jspec SZ Airbox dummied into my Jspec 98 RZ-S twin turbo VVTi. Note: the extreme end of the outlet is not mid-aligned. There are two adjacent mounting flanges.
  11. The Jspec n/a Airbox will bolt in but there's a big clearance issues with smic pipe and the snorkel extends too close to the engine, therefore factory intake pipe won't fit. I'll send some photos of a n/a airbox dummies in my tt once I work out how to send.
  12. That Jspec TT, VVTi airbox is very elusive... Next move is to get one 3D imaged and made. Can anyone help?
