  1. I have a MK2 MR2 and a TT6. Try and drive a manual before committing. The V16X box is rather agricultural in feel compared to the MR2. For me I knew I wanted, and could afford a decent manual, so that was decision made. If in your head you're on the fence between the 2 and wouldn't mind an auto, I'd just buy an auto. As said, the manual is not without it's compromises so I'd buy one only if you want to "because manual".
  2. Even though I'm a manual man I've been watching this with interest. Any progress on the shifter surround? I assume it'll be best to get a design knocked up and get them made when you have the numbers?
  3. IKEA have an app if you just want something quick and easy. Quick to draw room dimensions and place furniture etc.
  4. Think I'll commute on my flying pig instead
  5. Interested in the dash PCBs plus LEDs. What is involved in fitting them? If it's easy enough I'll take them
  6. Boxes are different, lids both have the same part number. I guess second hand would be better than new just for colour match.
  7. Last time I checked, the boxes were discontinued but the lids were still available new from Mr T
  8. The guys on 2 brutal were bringing them over as group buys a while back. ~$3000 all in I think or there abouts
  9. Certainly several 2GRs have seen there way into MR2s. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=829813 I'd love one in my MR2 but may suit the supra too? Similar power as a TT supra before any mention of FI. And we know it can handle being supercharged. Something that's probably rather tricky to do in an MR2 but easier with a supra engine bay.

    Supra Airbox

If it helps, last time I looked, the lid was still available from Mr T.
  11. IMO it looks like they want a new sports car line up. They have a Celica replacement in the GT86. This would be the MR2 sized offering. Then comes the Supra replacement.

    Tyres

I've got them on the front of my daily MK2 MR2. Driven hard on crappy single track roads in all weathers and they cope very well. Will probably see me 10k+ miles no bother at the rate they're going. Ive done around 5k on them but only do c.5k per year so ask me again in another year or so.
  13. Is there any reason you don't just buy some German Bilstein B6s??
  14. I've got a pretty standard 1999 TT6 and just insured with AF. My agreed value is still in progress but I aimed above £20k. Have provided pics, some bills/reciepts, original purchase receipt of car and a valuation from Jurgen. Will keep my eye on this thread and let you know how it turns out.

    So much hate

And where did that £10k figure come from?! I have a TT6 but personally I'd rather have a TT auto than an n/a5. The price difference between those 2 seems to be closing. £3-5k is probably more realistic due to the increase in price of n/as lately.
  16. This probably just allows for stricter testing of post '78 cars without the need to add a load of get out clauses for old cars that would otherwise never pass. Easier and cheaper to exempt them rather than invent another rust/integrity/basic safety type test for older cars.
  17. Fans will just keep bringing in more damp air. If you're going to dehumidify, you don't want so much air circulation as you'll be fighting a losing battle. Similarly you don't want it TOO dry either. I'd look for a tiny amount of air circulation and a dehumidifier with a humidistat. Google thinks somewhere in the 40-60% range is good for cars. Not sure how the costs add up but have you thought about heating. £500 buys quite a bit of electric if it's only temporary.
  18. Still waiting on someone in the UK to provide some real world info on rebuilds from Munro racing. They look like the best rebuild I've seen so far. Didn't even realise a ceramic rebuild was an option.
  19. Mine seems to trap water under the seal. Can go to it a day or so after its rained, car bone dry. Lift the edge of the seal with a finger nail and water dribbles out. Wonder if you could add a liquid sealant under the seal to fill that gap so water can't sit beneath it??
  20. Ooo I'd be interested in these if Mr AMG isnt! ETA: the dust boots that is
