  1. There's 2 different lengths of spacer. Believe the shorter ones are fronts Disclaimer: I can't remember which way up the spacers go, I think as shown in the picture above is WRONG way up but shows you the different sizes
  2. That little spacer is the thing I was talking about that holds the bump stops in place. The rear one is indeed longer than the front one (as in my picture) so your parts look correct. As for running without a bump stop, I've no idea if it's a good idea or not. I guess it depends how hard you're likely to hit some big bumps and need it. Shouldn't have any effect on ride height mind. Edit: I see you are using spring clamps, I had no need to do this when assembling as the lowering springs were already short enough to enable the top nut to bite.
  3. Ok so the following measurements were taken installed with eibach lowering springs. Measurements taken as per pics. 1) From the underside of the top mount to the highest surface of the spring seat. 2) From the lowest TOP SURFACE of the spring seat to the centre of the lower bolt. Rear 1) 280mm 2) 280mm Front 1) 257mm 2) 245mm Another incorrect installation that COULD affect ride height is the little collars that hold the bump stops in place. These are different lengths front and back. The threaded top of the shock has 2 flats to locate the top mount. This also means the top mount will only go down so far when tightened. It is POSSIBLE BUT UNCONFIRMED that a longer collar installed where a short one should be may result in the top mount resting on the collar and NOT bottoming out on the "flatted" part of the shock. Another thing you could check is that the little collars are installed the correct way up. I guess this MAY cause the bump stop to sit too high and also get in the way of the top mount bottoming out. Sorry about all the "may"s "possible"s and "could"s but I am far from an expert so don't like to assert things. I'm just someone with this suspension setup fitted without problems. If your quick and want me to take another measurement, I'm still playing around fitting spacers.
  4. At a guess, the tops of the rubbers are ~10mm thick so not much difference. I'm going to go work on my car tomorrow so will take a look and take plenty of pictures. I've got OEM 17s, eibach springs and bilstein B6s and I'm deciding on spacers so perfect opportunity to take plenty of useful photos.
  5. Fit lowering springs? They're held in place by sandwiching between the top of the spring and the top mount so no avoiding it really.
  6. That what I've used. Bilsteins were OEM on some cars with Toyota labels on them. Interesting side note: The top lip of these dust boots rests on top of the spring. I guess this means the car will ride slightly higher than if they weren't fitted.
  7. http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/ Click suspension on left hand menu Search in page for part number 48257-24010 Not the flashiest website but a really helpful bloke. Best to just ring him and tell him what you're after.
  8. What's wrong with the one at the top of the classifieds just below this thread? Seems to tick every box for you.
  9. This is the only picture I have to hand. The bit that the MAF attaches to is indeed part of the box itself. Took me ages to find mine. Don't worry if you find one with a broken lid, you can still buy the lid new from Toyota for ~£17
  10. If I remember. On holiday for a week but can do when I get back. - - - Updated - - - This looks pretty low. Are they 18s? I'll be on OEM 17s
  11. Fitted mine yesterday. Same springs. Preload is minimal, no spring compressors needed to assemble. Not taken the car out yet but ride height seems "normal"
  12. Sorted now, panic over. And yes rider, in future for stuff like this, I'll not hesitate in buying new. Just for the lack of hassle if nothing else.
  13. I'm after a front top mount. Bought some off here a while ago and just come to fit them today and noticed the threads are stripped off Ideally posted asap as car is on the ramp, thanks.
  14. I thought as much. When I was playing around with them it seemed to make sense and the bump stop fits over it snugly. Next question is if the bump stops need a haircut when being used with lowering springs?

  16. Bump Which way up do these little collars go? Also, there's 2 different sizes of collar, what goes where?
  17. Can't believe these haven't sold yet! What sort of mileage have they seen? Sadly I've just bought new bilsteins and eibach spring or I'd have had these. Also, are they missing dust boots on the rears?

You need to become a member in order to post in those sections. It's £10 for a year or £30 for life. I believe you can find the option to upgrade in settings-->subscriptions
  19. Why not? Plenty of people in the UK import from Japan and pay vat and duty. You might find if the pound crashes that it's cheaper to buy stuff from the UK.
  20. Sadly it's not even as simple as that. There are thin and thick core TT rads. Seems very hit and miss with what car had what fitted. Several different fan shroud fixing layouts too. I emailed Chris Wilson about it a while ago when sourcing a replacement for mine. He had some diagrams for fixing point layouts and even when I told him I had a thin core TT rad, there were still a couple of options
  21. Also interested in these, have PMd you. As an aside Jason, do you know if you can convert between the 2 by just buying the corresponding 1st cat? i.e. the only difference is the Y pipe?
  22. This isn't to say he won't point you in the right direction, but he doesn't work there any more.
  23. Sadly they are very rare. The amount coming over from Japan with induction kits fitted, I can only imagine that the streets are littered with discarded airboxes over there! To answer a few more FAQs, the UK/EU spec also has a MAF but has a completely different airbox arrangement. If you find a box like mine with a broken lid, the lid is a separate part and can still be had new from Toyota for ~£17
  24. This is my vvti box (after 2 years of searching for one!). You can see there's a big hole in the side of the outlet pipe that the MAF sensor bolts to.
  25. Can you post some measurements? Circlip position as supplied, as corrected etc may help others identify if they have the same issue.
