  1. OK. Here's a strange issue I have with my car which I've lived with for ages but I thought I'd finally ask about .... When the car is idling if I rev it in neutral I can hear a gurgling sound just behind the dashboard (or right at the back of the engine next to the bulkhead). In fact it's totally related to the rpm I'm doing when I rev. It's sounds weird. A bit like a couple of dwarfs running around in a paddling pool under the bonnet. Very strange. Any ideas anyone?
  2. I had to get baffle for my HKS exhaust (£30 delivered from TDi) and I have to say that it makes a huge difference. If I take it out I have "Powerboat" Supra and putting it in gives me "Stealth" Supra. It's not quiet when it, it still sounds nice. But the neighbours are far happier. (only downside is that if you look in my huge exhaust you see a little black pipe which wouldn't look out of place on a Nissan Micra ...)
  3. I had what sounded like a belt squeaking when the car warmed up a bit. I didn't really worry about it because winter had just started and belts squeak a bit in the winter ..... .... and then my crankshaft pulley blew up. Oh fabulous. Very lucky not to had any damage to the radiator, SMIC, hoses, pipework. But still cost £400 to rectify.
  4. ..and in the new year I'm going to take his advice and rip off the Blitz SUS and replace with original equipment. (Plus I'm fed up with my mooing intake. It's embarrassing) On the similiar subject. What's a fair price to pay for a set of standard shocks and springs. (I'm fairly fed up with my shopping trolley handling as well)
  5. How much would you expect to pay for a 2nd hand standard airbox and front ducting? (the one that sits on the radiator) - for a '94 Jap-spec TT
  6. http://www.paragon-it.co.uk/ is popular with the contractors here at UBS.
  7. I saw Supragold's installation of the T04Z and it certainly looks nice. I'm sure if you look up his profile he's put the dyno chart up.
  8. Cautella IT in Colchester are time wasters IMHO
  9. AFAIK you don't need to disconnect the old system to have RLTC fitted.
  10. I work through Elan for an Investment Bank in the City. Other decent agencies are Aston Carter, Lorien, MSB, iKAS, McGregor-Boyall, Huxley, Progressive, Deerfoot, FDM... You get a job down here and we'll have to start the City Chapter of the owners club....
  11. If this wins then I'll put the spoiler up for "auction" again because I don't need it.... Q: How do you make a woman scream for 10 mins after 0rgazm? A: Wipe your d1ck on the curtains
  12. A lot of the professional Yank car detailers use leaf blowers when they detail a car to speed up drying. I'd only want to use one after washing the car and if you rinse it right there shouldn't be much water left on it anyway.
  13. FYI - Cyclic Redundancy Checks (CRC) are a way of building a number from a load of data. Whilst processing that data you calculate the CRC and this lets you know whether the data is corrupted or not. If you're getting this then it's either the disk you're copying is damaged, or maybe the disk manufacturer has done something very very cunning to stop you "Backing it up". (It's more likely to be a damaged disk) I'd try another tool and see if you get the same error just in case it's a problem with DVD Shrink (which is a great tool btw). Other tools you could try are: Vobrator, DVD Decryptor, AnyDVD, CloneDVD, DVD2One, etc HTH
  14. How on earth do I know that your doing anything? That's the problem. Email, PMs and posts disappear into a black hole. Please don't start having a go at co.uk site. This has nothing to do with it. ...and there was me thinking you were being helpful. I never realised you resented me asking. I never intended to start a war, and I'm not going to continue this now. I'm sure in some way this is all my fault so I'll back down. You get your final reply in and I wont respond. If you can get me the documentation then you have my thanks. If not then so be it.
  15. Jspec on paper is 280, but that just the published figure....... I reckon about 300 at the fly in standard form.
  16. Thanks Chris. I'll be giving that a go tonight.
  17. If you're not out getting drunk then you're welcome to come and tell me what I'm doing wrong.
  18. I'm going to jack the car up on the rear diff (having studied the workshop manual). Can I put the jack straight onto that or do I need to put a bit of wood between the jack and the diff?
  19. I don't get spotted often so I thought I'd better reply. Veilside skirts and spats. Big wheels (with one flat tire). Big exhaust (which the wife hates) and a big grin.
  20. I'll be on the 17:08 from Liverpool St tonight if you fancy giving me a hand changing a wheel!
  21. Yup. And the silver beast is parked in the car park every day. Don't bother with the card, I've got my own! (both .net and .co.uk because I don't believe in politics )
  22. I reckon that under the diff at the back would do nicely, but I'm a bit of a technical dullard .... so I don't suppose anyone has a picture of exactly where I put the jack?
  23. Thanks for the help guys. One question about jacking though: "There are rails along the sides of the car under the sill that are for jacking." Arn't these for the standard jack? Where should I jack using a big hydraulic jack? Bear in mind that I have Veilside skirts and the car is lowered.
