  1. I would never pretend that the D4D is fast but if you floor it it'll pull pretty well. But it's definitely not a performance vehicle. 0-60 is not exactly sparkling. To be honest though you get used to the fact that it's not a fast vehicle and make allowances. The reason we never went for the 4 litre petrol was it's thirst. Performance was better and the engine is a little smoother but the diesel won the day. If you want resale value on a Landcruiser you have to get the diesel. Petrol versions are hard to sell, hence you wont find that many around. Getting a new Landcruiser was a huge decision for myself and the wife. We got a great deal on it but it's still the most expensive car we've ever bought by some considerable margin. We love the thing though. It has great road presence and you feel pretty much invicible in one. (Be nice to eventually pay off the loan as well... )
  2. Having just spent two days cleaning, polishing, sealing and generally pampering my Landcruiser I'd have to say that I'm biased. I think Landcruisers are great. Fabulous choice. ....obviously I'd rather be driving the Supra but you can get rather more stuff in a Landcruiser.
  3. That's brothers for you. Mine doesn't bother remembering either me, my wifes or my kids birthdays. Anyway. Gav's just got his pay rise and bonus so now would be a good time to ask him for a nice present....
  4. Happy Birthday Doug. Hope Gav got you something nice?
  5. Yup. Exactly. I would dread to think what would happen if you got the gearbox into Reverse and then left it there long enough for the gearbox to actually engage the gear. I would hope that the electronics would assume you'd done it by accident and not engage the gear. CW is right though. Count the number of lives you've got left and don't do it again. Best thing to do is to learn exactly when you need to use the shift button because if you only use it when you have to you reduce the risk of shifting into Reverse when moving between 2nd and Drive. As far as I know (from the owner handbook) you need to depress the lock release button for the following changes: - shifting into and out of P shifting into R shifting into L
  6. Nope. I nearly redlined it in NEUTRAL whilst rolling forward. To get into reverse I would have had to push the big shift button in and I'm not that stupid. What happened was that I was going round a roundabout in 2nd and wanted to put the car back in D. I clicked one notch too many and ended up in Neutral.
  7. You can always shift from D into N without pushing the button. The button just stops you from going into R. I've done this also and in my car the revs very quickly zoomed towards the red-line and I at once eased off until I was doing about the right revs again and then I engaged D again. This was done totally by accident and I'm trying never to do it again. (At this done between 20 & 30 mph) - I got absolutely no nasty noises from the autobox during any of this.
  8. You know what you did and you're a star. Big thanks. Flynn
  9. Thanks for that. I'll give them a go.
  10. High twenties is a dream ..... But then I rarely get the Supra on a motorway.
  11. I can easily see single digit mpg on my TT Auto. If I take it really easy then I might get 20mpg. And the answer is .... go single and get better fuel economy!
  12. Does anyone here have access to the Subsidy (IMEI) unlock codes for a Motorola V3. My sister-in-law just gave me her old phone and I've got to wait a week for Vodaphone so supply the unlock code.
  13. This is the set up I have on my car. I have one Cat still in and a bleed valve to control the boost.
  14. Hire/borrow a slow car for a weekend and then get back into the Supra. It'll feel like an F1 car again! I love going from the Land cruiser to the Supra. It's a totally different world of acceleration.
  15. It's funny you mention it because my back is starting to ache .....
  16. We made sure I bought all the DIY stuff before I got laid off.....
  17. Friday the 13th and it's my last day in my current job. Still nothing sorted out for next week but I live in hope. (I've got to get a new contract soon because the wife is organising lots of DIY jobs around the house for me to do whilst I'm not working)
  18. I thought it might be but I hadn't seen it come up on the thread and it's such a sight.
  19. Body Kit I did a search to see if this had been posted before but couldn't find it. Apologies if this is a repost.

    I'm a dad...!

Congratulations mate. 5.13lb is a good weight for a baby born 4 weeks early. Hope baby and mother are doing fine.
  21. I've got 18s on and at the wrong tyre pressures they will make the handling feel awful. Get 'em right though and all is well.
  22. Hi and welcome. When you get your Supra make sure you get RLTC fitted.......
  23. It goes over the radiator and ducts air into the stock air box. I have an aftermarket air box which has a hole through (that is blanked at the moment) which the ducting should feed air into but I'm missing the ducting. You have PM Rob.
