  1. I need a lottery win..... and then I'd give you guys a bunch of money to sort my car out! Excellent work.
  2. I've got a feeling that you'll find it hard to get much over 100bhp per litre without forced induction of some kind. Good luck though. Hope you do it.
  3. Seen that before. Always makes me laugh because that's exactly the car I bought for the wife to drop the kids off at nursery!
  4. Running a marathon on May 14th in Halstead so can't make it. (Mark & Steve: You'll both be pleased to know that I've just adjusted my rear wiper and it no longer droops horribly off onto the paintwork. Job done.)
  5. Now that's a lovely image to finish the weekend with......
  6. It's certainly cleaner now I removed that tiny bit of dried leaf from your engine bay.
  7. I stood a far enough away from Marks car when I took that picture to make sure that his car looked clean. But believe me, it certainly could have been cleaner. (Check out the large image and you can clearly see dirt...) There was at least a couple of specks of dirt on the wheel arch! (Mine, of course, was utterly utterly clean!)
  8. Thanks to Mark and Steve for coming today. Was great to meet some other members and their advice was highly useful. Slightly on the downside .... it's turns out the I've got one warped wheel and another one with a huge flat spot. A new set of alloys is definitely on the cards. I'm going to try and organise regularly mini-meets for the members around the Colchester area. There's plenty of us and it's good to see all the cars together. (We pretty much stopped work at the tyre fitters place today whilst they took all their photos and talked about the cars) Here's our mini-meet photo: http://supra.mbiggin-dsl.fireflyinternet.co.uk/images/20060422-small.jpg large-image All three cars looked fabulous but I bet you can guess which one got the most attention.....
  9. Mini-meet is at Anderson Tyres at about 9:30am then. Coolio.
  10. The more the merrier mate. Call it a mini-meet if you want. I'll be happy just to get some opinions on a few issues with the car.
  11. Mini-meet sounds good. It would be good to put a face to some names. supragold: Did you have to pay for the replacement clutch? Or was it done under warranty?
  12. I'll be down at a tyre place in the Hythe (Andersons) getting a wheel sorted at about 9:30-9:45 and hopefully having some knowledgeable Supra owners giving me some advice. Might well take the camera in case anyone shows up to help.
  13. s crane, letmeshowyou & supragold: You all have PM
  14. Can anyone in Colchester spare an hour on Saturday morning?
  15. Is anyone free on Saturday morning in Colchester to give a little advice and take a ride in my car? I'm after someone to give me some advice as to a couple of problems with the car. These are really subjective things which are very difficult to describe. Mainly I need advice on handling, the operation of the turbos and some odd noises. Anyone fancy giving there advice/time?
  16. Can a worn p/s pump cause the steering to feel "wooly" when driving in a straight line? (Like you can jiggle the steering wheel a little and it really doesn't affect the steering)

BlackBeauty 17. Dave Haggas 18. supraloopy I'm out guys. The wife's decided to get her hair cut over on Mersea Island and apparently going to a club meet and getting to see lots of great Supras is not an option. Shame because I was rather looking forward to it.
  18. My sister-in-law once tried to get some tar off the door of her Fiesta using a green kitchen scubber. It certainly got the tar off ..... and most of the paint.
  19. What problem with your paintwork are you trying to fix using t-cut? Swirl marks, scratches, ....? You'd probably be better off finding someone whose good with a rotary polisher or a Porter-Cable 7424 and sort the paintwork using right tools.

  21. We bought a Hotpoint freezer which totally stopped working (and trashed all the food in it) exactly 1 week over the years warranty. My wife when ballistic at them and get a load of money off the repair bill. Note to self: When buying electrical items, do not buy cheap stuff. Buy AEG or Bosch and it's more likely not to go wrong and cost you loads.
  22. Anyone know of a similiar place in or around Colchester or in Essex somewhere?
  23. OK. I had a little test on Friday morning. Came round a roundabout and had to floor it to avoid a truck from running into the side of me. It was then that I hit a patch of frozen rain water and I could really feel the traction control working then. The engine just sort of reins the power in and you don't get any drama from the rear end. (I had RLTC set to Wet). I'm happy now that my RLTC is working fine.
  24. Floor the throttle coming round a roundabout this morning with the road cover in water. I guess RLTC is doing it's thing because I simply caned it. No slipping. No drama. Nice one. I have in the past though hacked up a rain-sodden sliproad with the RLTC set to Wet and been all over the place. That was on the 2nd turbo though so maybe that's why. This morning I was only using the 1st turbo.
  25. When my car gets warm I get the most god-awful squeaking coming from underneath. I figure it's an exhaust mount, or something but quite frankly I'm a total d!ck when it comes to all things mechanical. Anyway...... To cut a long story short one Saturday morning very soon I'm going to get it jacked up and supported on axle stands and see if I can identify what's squeaking and hopefully fix it. So my plea to the general population here is ..... Does anyone fancy coming round and taking the p!ss out of me whilst I do it. Perhaps with a view to making sure I don't bodge anything up and hopefully providing some advice whilst I crawl around under a car and knock my knuckles off whilst swearing that I don't have the right tools. (Tea will of course be provided for those who take up this one-in-a-lifetime offer. ) [edit: forgot to mention .... I'm near Colchester in Essex]
