  1. Can anyone recommend a garage in the Colchester area to do a little work on my Landcruiser. I need someone to fit some reversing sensors and also a new wing mirror (that my wife has just informed me has been smashed off by some git in a white Transit van)
  2. Take a very powerful small torch next time. At least then you'll know WTF is was.
  3. It did sound gay but assuming you kept your trousers on I bet you'd have a laugh.
  4. Did you see Gok when he did that cooking thing with Gordon Ramsay. Gordo asked him why he was gay and Gok simply replied that it was because he preferred c0cks. Obviously. Made me laugh at the time. Some cracking women in there tonight.
  5. I had my disks skimmed. Cost £30 per disk and gave me plenty of extra miles on a set of disks. If money had not been a factor then I would have just bought new disks.
  6. If you're going to buy vitamins and supplements such as Glucosamine I can recommend getting them from zipvit.com Great service and the prices are very low. You can get a years supply from them for the same price as a months at Boots. I've used them for years. (The glucosamine in liquid form is pretty good)
  7. I want to say a big thanks to everyone that took an interest in this. I can honestly say that each car I was offered I weighed up carefully. On balance I decided that I wanted to spend near the top of my 2 grand budget and try and get the newest car I could. After seeing a few cars I also decided I wanted Japanese build quality. Here's what I've ended up with: She's in great condition and I think will serve me well through the winter months with my 4 mile drive to the station and back. As soon as Jurgen find me my car she will be up for sale though.
  8. I know you're trying to help mate and I'm being as careful as I can not to criticise the asking price. A car is worth whatever someone will pay after all. I've come to the conclusion that Parkers always highly undervalues cars and I think a better way will be to judge on what else is available and what that actually sells for.
  9. How do you get a book price of £1500 to £2200? Assuming it's a 1999 V-reg 1.3i 3d then Parkers show a good private price of £955. The most expensive they list which matches is just £1,215. I'm not saying the car isn't what you're asking for it, just that I can't get confirmation that it is a reasonable price. EDIT: I just had a browse around the cars on Autotrader and the prices listed there are more in line with those listed in Parkers.
  10. Regarding the Fiesta and Ka. It's been a while since I've looked at the prices of small cars and I'm struggling to reconcile what Parkers guide says I should be paying compared to the prices mentioned on here. I know that a car is worth whatever someone will pay but I've got to be able to sell it in 6 months and I bet I'm going to have to price according to something like Parkers to be able to sell it.
  11. I think I'm drifting towards spending near my 2 grand budget. It's taking an age finding my Supra and I've got a feeling that I'm going to need this runabout for more than a couple of months. I've also got to be happy with the wife driving it occasionally. Thanks anyway.
  12. Let me take a look at the ad tomorrow and I'll let you know. (Off to bed now.... knackered)
  13. I'm interested. Can you get me some details?
  14. That's a bit more car than I need. Thanks anyway.
