  1. I understand tailgate rattle is very common. Mine used to rattle and we fixed it, but it seemed a different rattle and squeaking noise. This one is a hard knocking but will check tailgate again. Thanks for tip. Thomas
  2. Re: Further info Pse see my original message of yesterday. Rattle/knocking is difficult to pinpoint. My backside feels it comes from rear, however, when I ask any passenger in car, they think it could be from the front. Really weird. As I said before, several mech's have been unable to find it, and I'm no great technician!! It feels quite bad at low speeds on even a slightly bumpy road. At high speeds it's hardly noticeable, due to general road noise/drive. But its always there, and bl.... annoying. Thomas
  3. Hi, My car is a Japanese import with no modifications to suspension etc Rgds Thomas
  4. Thanks, Gordon - Look forward to hearing how you got on. Sounds simple enough. I've only just signed up to this website but have now searched 'suspension noises'. Seems there are a few causes of rattles, can't find one that fits mine, though. Anyway, am amazed at quick responses and glad to have found this site. Thomas
  5. Several mechanics have tried, without success, to find the cause of a most annoying rattle/knocking on my 1993 Supra non-turbo. It has only 35k miles on clock and I imported it from Jp 4 years ago. Rattle/knocking is not only audible but can be felt through one's backside especially at low speeds over an uneven surface. It's very difficult to find out where it comes from. Obviously, its not the shock absorbers. Any ideas out there? Thomas
