  1. Some serious man-hours have gone into that cabin!!
  2. There seems to be a lot of "price inflating" all round for cars that really aren't worth it. Someone recently put a 300ZX up for sale that had a 9 year old forged engine, various bodywork issues and the driver's seat was tatty beyond belief. And they were originally asking nigh on £10k for it! When I suggested finding a better seat, to stop the overall look of the interior from being "shoddy," I was told that the price was already discounted to take that into account! In my eyes, just because something is on sale for a certain price doesn't mean that it'll sell at that price.......
  3. I've seen Stevo's carbon skinning first hand and he does a cracking job!
  4. Making really good quality mats (or any cabin parts, for that matter) isn't cheap, I'm afraid.
  5. I know Anthony at For Flock's Sake very well so it's good to see him get such a glowing recommendation. In fact, it may even have been me that sent you his way!
  6. I know a contact of mine tried swapping his Gen 7 Celica wheel for a Corolla one, but, despite it all looking straightforward, he just couldn't get everything to work correctly.
  7. The logos will be heat-bonded onto the material, so replacing them will involve getting some the exact same dimensions and heat-bonding them yourself.
  8. Personally, I'd be very wary of brand new Recaros at that sort of low price! There are plenty of fakes around and that pricetag is ridiculously low....
  9. As everyone else has said, without the funds cleared into your account then the car stays put. Personally, I'm surprised that the buyer was prepared to transfer the whole amount without seeing the car first. Had it been me, I'd have paid a deposit and then brought cash for the balance once I was satisfied that the car was exactly as described. Hopefully this will turn out to be nothing more than a delay with the transfer, rather than something more sinister.....
  10. I'd like to think that, if the OP rocked up to a meet with a "fat one" hanging out of his mouth, someone would call the police and get him done for drug-driving! To think that there are still people out there who think it's acceptable...
  11. Are the Supra gearknobs the same as the Gen 7 Celica ones? If so, I have a spare one here.
  12. Flocking will be cheaper!!
  13. Really glad you're happy with your new interior, Karl - I think it does change the whole look and feel of the car now. I know there was a lot of travelling time involved (not to mention a couple of dogs!) so I'm glad it was all worth it! Just to add a couple of bits into this: the Recaros needed a couple of brand new lower bolsters and, in an ideal world, a couple of upper ones too. However, the upper foams are only available for the Speed seats (with the less pronounced shoulder "spikes") which means the only way to adapt them to these SR seats would be to cut the bolsters sections off and bond them on to the existing top halves. Karl and I decided not to go down that route and instead I repaired the damage to the upper bolsters as best I could. I also dyed the flocking on the harness slots as the original mid-grey wouldn't have worked with the new black trim at all. The seats and door handles were all completed for when Karl arrived here on Wednesday afternoon, which meant a looooong night to trim the three sections of headlining, the sun visors, the central armrest and the gear gaiter! After I'd picked him up from the BnB yesterday morning, I made his bespoke handbrake cover and then we set about putting everything back together again. Andrew Muirhead leather, by the way, is commonly regarded as being amongst the very best in the world (if not the best). Aston Martin, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Lotus all use it in their vehicles, and it will also be found in all British Airways First Class cabins and many Premiership football stadiums too. It's seriously top-notch stuff! Also, before anyone starts suggesting "back door trading" or anything like that, I'd just like to say that I paid up as a member back in October last year and did my 3 months of being a good forum member. Since then though, I've PM'd a few members of staff asking how to actually apply to be a Trader on here, but I haven't received a single reply!
  14. Off the shelf covers will never ever fit as well as a proper bespoke retrim. Yes, you pay a little more but the end result is far superior!
  15. Unless you paid about £1k per seat, they're not real leather. They're Ambla leather, which is a synthetic material.
  16. Fun fact: proper automotive leather has a vinyl surface to it. In fact, all quality upholstery leather does. It's this vinyl surface that has the grain pattern debossed into it. Even automotive Nappa leather isn't "true" Nappa - it simply has an incredibly fine grain debossed into the surface to mimic the surface of lambskin Nappa. Factory leather from most of the major car manufacturers (aside from the really high-end ones, of course) is notoriously cheap quality... probably something to do with there being many thousands of their cars to be trimmed in the stuff. If a trimmer can do a pair of front seats in full leather for £450 then they're either not paying themselves much of a wage, they're using super-cheap materials or they're getting the new covers made in China and just fitting them! I'd imagine either option 2 or option 3. A full hide of leather is around 55 square feet on average, and that will trim a pair of front seats with maybe a small amount left over. Andrew Muirhead leather, which is found in Aston Martins, Jags and British Airways First Class cabins, is typically £265 per hide, plus VAT and delivery. Then you have the cost of the thread. And the foam to back the new leather panels with. And the adhesive. And the embroidery costs. It all mounts up...
  17. Stevo does some cracking work with CF! I remember seeing his own steering wheel a few years back, and it looked goooood!
  18. I was going to get a set of Metal Monkey dials for the Zed a while ago, but just never got around to it. They were ridiculously helpful during the design process. Couldn't fault them at all!
  19. I have absolutely no idea where I got the idea it'd only done 10k miles from!!
  20. That driver's seat doesn't look like it's only seen 10k miles!! And isn't that price a little cheap for a UK TT6...?
