  1. Very nice, they both look mint
  2. Thanks for the replys guys, il contact James too. doesn't hurt to have a few quotes and from the replys it seems he has done quite a few already. Cheers again
  3. Oooft the cossie is naughty What colour will the supra be going?
  4. #Hi guys, some of you may have read that I'm looking to do a complete underside re-haul soon and I've just posted this in my other thread (oem bushes) I have a few questions regarding pricing and I need some subframes if anyone has any?# I started out wanting new bushes, its somehow snowballed into me refurbing the underside completely lol However like many members have said it future proofs the car for some time to come I'm pretty sure I'm going ahead with the project now after giving it some hard thought, a nice member on here by the name of erachter is helping me source all the bits (very helpful chap) and today I arranged with my mechanic to meet with his guy that does alot of bodywork and restorations on older cars (mainly rs fords and skylines i believe) they are called platinum paintwork. We will all meet as soon as covid rules permit and go over the details. Il be looking out for front and back subframes so I can get them galvanised and completed prior to doing the job. Il then give my mechanic a crate load of underside parts to build up the complete subframes with arms, suspension, etc Meanwhile the resto guys can deal with the removal of the old subframes, fuel lines, brake lines and the old underseal It had when it arrived in the uk in 2010, it will then be repainted in factory renaissance red before having the completely new subframes and other parts (fuel tank cover, lines etc) fitted. A costly job as many have said but one thats worthwhile in the long run and I would think I'd see my investment returned if I came to sell as the car will be good for another 30 years. Any of you that have refurbished your underside could you please tell me what garages you used to do the work and a rough guide of what an average price would be to strip the underside of underseal and repaint it with the removal of everything underneath and the refitting of all the newly built subframes once completed by my mechanic? Many thanks and a happy new lockdown , Grant

  6. An na will do 165? Are you sure, I didnt think the 220hp was enough to push it that far?
  7. Thanks, quite worrying as I'm abit ocd and if I start it it must be done perfectly
  8. Definitely, I'd want to do all the rubbers if I do go ahead with it
  9. Ah ok yes galvanising sounds much better then, thanks. Yes I didnt realise how hard it is to get parts for, I mean I knew it wasn't easy but so many parts are no where to be found. As regards to the rear roll bar I had that replaced last year as it actually broke (I broke it on the carousel on the nurburgring) Really! 5 figures, damn I had a figure of upto 5k tops, I figured 3k for parts, 1k for fitting and 1k for extras, but then looking at other things I've done i can see how it could get out of hand quite easily. Hmm decisions decisions, 5 figures really is quite alot, all I wanted was fresh underside and new bushes all round lol
  10. I know, its mega money for something you don't really see i suppose. I found eibach springs and oem bilstens for £750 all round so it would be about 4.5k job minimum i guess
  11. Oh yes I forgot about tcb, thanks
  12. Wheres the best place to get the arms kit? Not sure if this price is about average? Might be alot easier to do it this way tbh. sandblasting the old stuff and trying to source bushes and fit them and paint it all is a pita
  13. New arms sound mega expensive, is it only aftermarket kits available then?
  14. Hi guys After much thought im thinking about taking subframes down, sandblasting and repainted, all new bushes, new oem suspension and springs and refurbs calipers. Also clean up the underside and recoat in underseal. However I'm struggling at the 1st hurdle, bushes! Is there anywhere i can still get them from? I can find the odd one here and there but I want oem all round. There's a multitude of aftermarket poly bush kits but I want to keep it oem. Any help much appreciated. Many thanks, Grant

    Sup 2j

Ha yes that was me on a road trip to Cornwall
  16. I've been upto 165mph and it was still pulling, they do fly
  17. This is a cheap set up by all accounts then, not a bad price after weighing it all up. Glwts
  18. Just out of interest how much is a set of oem brand new springs worth? Might be tempted if the price is right
  19. No problems its all sorted now. Turns out the 1st garage i went to had ago at changing it from parallel to sequential mode and in the process completely fucked up the vsv order which in turn caused all sorts of problems. The new garage downloaded a complete vac lines diagram and put it all back how it should be. Cheers for the responses guys
  20. Its already in ttc mode, hence the ecu next
  21. Is there a quick way to check the vsvs?, the garage think it could be an hour or it could be very labour intensive if they have to get to the less easy to access vsvs
  22. Problem is the car had no problems until it went into the 1st garage (they put an old seal on the new heater matrix and on 1st start up it pissed everywhere, covering the ecu, previous leak was just a trickle) So I doubt it is the vsv's, it would be to much of a coincidence that as soon as coolant passes on the ecu that the vsv fails at the same time
  23. Hi guys My car had a heater matrix leak and coolant leaked all over my ecu, the heater matrix job is now done but my car is now not boosting correctly and sometimes hunts up and down on the boost gauge, sometimes it comes on boost fine but most of the time you floor it and its like flooring an n/a. Its back in the garage and they have checked all turbo pipes etc and next step is testing a different ecu as we think that may be the problem. If a new ecu doesn't work I suppose il have to find a way to check the vsv's So my question is, does anyone have one for sale? Many thanks, Grant
