  1. I want to see big powered and stock drag races of ... supra, gtr, rx7, nsx together, now that would be cool
  2. Yep, the driver, although very good wasn't used to the car plus the runway was soaking wet and with cold ad08s it really didn't help get it anywhere fast, I tried myself after and was abit of a nightmare to try and get off the line without spinning, a dry day would have been so much better, but also for the mk5s too
  3. No not for the filmed races, had a little play after though
  4. Yes they seem to be getting cheaper by the day!
  5. In the dry with a hi stall I reckon I would have had them
  6. Trust me I've had the same thought many times, test driven a handful of cars around the 25-35k marker and nothing has ever felt as special as the mk4 supra does to me, even in auto guise I still love it. R35, r8 v8, 911.. they were all brilliant cars in their own way but nothing felt quite as special and unique (I'd still love a r8 one day though) Mk4s are brilliant and like they say in 1993 when it launched it must have blown everyone's mind. The only thing id replace it with is a r8 v10
  7. No I think the yaris GR wears that crown now
  8. There will be a video up soon of mine against yaris GR and celica GT4
  9. Don't, it's actually cringe as f##k, they love to shout it too
  10. A few weeks ago carwow did a little review of my mk4 against some mk5 supras, videos out now on YouTube thanks branners for organising it
  11. Looks clean and I'd love an aero personally, but 37k is uk spec tt6 money imo. Maybe worth 30k at a push with a detailed history, but being that its from them dodgy dealers I'd also steer well clear knowing they probably squeezed the old boy and got it for 10k. What was the info on it uzzy?
  12. Im pretty sure this is the case, B type = tt6, A type = tt auto, if so how much would you like for it as il be needing to purchase these? Cheers
  13. What's the difference between type a and b? I'm doing an underside resto on mine and will be needing some of these? Cheers

  15. Yep I've done it, new shocks and springs all round. Now I've just got to buy all new top mounts. Already have the same bilsteins on the car from factory but the cars 28 years old now and definitely deserves the new ones. Exciting
  16. Hi guys I'm about to bite the bullet and purchase all new shocks and springs as part of my underside rehaul, but remember reading a thread on here about bilsteins not fitting a lads car correctly and having an absolute ballache sorting it? Can't find the thread now. Does anyone remember the problem? Also found bilsteins b6 for £130 a corner, pretty cheap I thought, anyone beat that price? Thanks

    The MkV

I didnt drive the mk5 tbh, just feedback from presenters/stunt drivers. This is the second back to back comparison where my cars used for filming been against a mk5 and the general consensus is that everyone (people who have no preference to either) thinks and feels that the mk4 drives better. Now obviously the mk5 will run rings round a stock mk4 in handling and straight line power but imo its how a car makes you feel that really matters. Some people will feel at home in a more modern supra with all the gadgets, some will feel better in a nostalgic old school supra with a cool dash and old school boosty/noisy 2jz. As manwithsupra said above an lc500 is a luxury very cool version which id have over the supra mk5 any day, failing that a lexus rcf is more affordable and pretty damn cool
  18. I second this, I have tanabe touring with boost activated cutout, but im not 1000hp lol

    The MkV

I put a deposit on one as soon as 1st orders were released, I got a refund for my deposit as soon as I found out its a z4, toyota can bang on as much as they like saying it was a joint effort when in reality all they have done is put a new shell ontop of a z4 platform and strengthened a few components. Don't get me wrong I've nothing against bmw and they make some stonking good cars but for me the supra had to be made by toyota alone, like they have done with the yaris GR. now I view the yaris GR as toyotas flagship, not the supra, which is abit sad really. There's a review coming out in which my supra TT Auto was against the new supra 2l and 3l version, it will be out next week some time and Il post a link once its live, they compared 0-60, braking, roll race etc so it will be interesting to see, but the stunt driver who was driving my car said "the new supra is good but there's not 27 years of progress between them" and I agree 100%, yes the new supras are faster then a stock supra mk4, but not by enough at all imo. After 1 year new supras with 2k on the clock are around 10k cheaper the purchase price at 42k where as yaris GR are 5k+ more then purchase price, I dont think I saw any mk5 supras up for much more then retail when released. But mk5 supras are quick, and with a tune they get some silly times, just not for me unfortunately
  20. Ooo thats very nice, should fetch a hefty wedge, got to be 50k minimum?
