  1. 100%, the amount of parts that I come across that were discontinued was quite astonishing really, even Paul was shocked at how much has been discontinued. These cars are getting old now and the rubber seals/parts are deteriorating fast, in 10 years we will see so many supras scrapped because of this. If I were you lot I'd start buying the small seals, gaskets, hoses and storing them ready for that inevitable day when nothings left. I just bought a load of seals, gaskets, window rubbers, bonnet seal etc to future proof the car should it ever need anything else.
  2. He can indeed, just look at the finish difference, the arm on the left is a new one, the arm on the right is my 28 year old one. the one he has refurbed looks better then the new one
  3. Cheers guys. Yep Paul is brilliant at what he does, leaves no stone unturned. Just look at my steering rack, this is fully rebuilt and powdercoated, 28 years old rack and it looks better then new VID-20210630-WA0025.mp4
  4. This isn't really a build thread, it's more of a supra diary just interesting things that have occurred in my supra ownership. I always enjoy reading others build threads and the like and always wanted to do one myself, so here we are, enjoy! When I was a kid my dad had all sorts of Japanese cars, mk3 supras, mk4 supra, evo 8, evo 2 and various other interesting jdm motors, so from a young age I was always around cars and grew up to love them, just before my 25 birthday in march 2016 I decided it was time to step into the big world of 300hp +, the only car that was going to scratch this itch was of course a mk4 supra twin turbo. Previous to this I owned various Toyota glanza turbos, integra type R and a mk4 supra n/a manual along with various other mundane dailys. I was out one day in my mk4 supra na and had a race with a mini cooper diesel, it beat me, my heart sunk and it was at that moment I realised I needed a turbo supra. I contemplated turboing my na but I just couldn't be bothered with it and thought I'd rather just have a factory turbo car. I searched for months for the right car, travelling to various parts of the country only to see dog after dog. one day I put up a wanted ad on this very forum and low and behold within a few days I was contacted about a possible lead on a car for sale, I went to see it and would you believe it, it was finally an absolute belter of a car. we looked around the car for a few minutes, I gave my mechanic mate a nudge and whispered 'what do you think' and he told me to get my money out straight away. I worked out a price with the seller and 10 minutes later I was the proud owner of a september 1993 Toyota Supra TT GZ auto with 38,000 miles on the clock in renaissance red and most importantly all stock and clean I drove it home and was astounded, here's some pics of when i 1st got it... As I'm sure everyone will agree it was the find of the century after all the crap I'd looked at previously. So just like that in April 2016 I was the proud owner of a Mk4 TT supra January 2017: The car was picked to feature in BANZAI magazine, a full 5 pages on my new purchase, I was a little chuffed to say the least. January 2017: I took the car from stock to BPU, I've got no pics unfortunately but its running whifbitz decats, TANABE touring exhaust, blitz boost controller, Walbro fuel pump, running 370bhp on low boost all fitted by SRD. The car was also in kmh and had the stock 112mph Japanese limiter on, SRD removed the limiter and just plugged the converter into the speedo and not anything else on the car so that I have mph displayed on my speedo but everything else remains in kmh. my odometer still counts in kmh as it did from Japan (I did this as I'm always sceptical about mileages that have been changed so Lee advised I do it this way so that the odometer remains as it came from factory, therefore avoiding any mileage discrepancies if I were to ever sell) April 2017: After searching for a year for the perfect plate I finally found SUP 2J, after the bidding war on DVLA had concluded I had myself one very cool plate this was the 1st pic with the new plates on. April 2018: Im 2 years into supra ownership now and wanted to make the car mint, so I started by stripping the interior and wheels. I even found a Japanese pokemon card and a few Japanese coins in the car when I took the carpet out 1st step was removing the horrible coating on the dash panels, mine were chipped and scratched in places, they were by no means bad but I wanted it perfect I did 3 panels, tried loads of ways to remove the coating, got pissed off and called a few bodyshops After a few calls I found a body shop that would do them and dropped them off, here they are drying after being sprayed satin black I then put them back together once I got them back I then jet washed the carpet and mats, steam cleaned the floor, got new supra logos for the mats, took the wheels to be powdercoated, got new ad08r tyres all round, new h&r spacers to bring the stock wheels flush, new discs and pads and treated the leather in the car to a good clean and seal, here are the results Absolutely chuffed with the result, I also fitted a new "Toyota secret box" under the radio I then got the front end resprayed (my mate had a 600hp GTR and after a few spirited drive I was absolutely peppered with stone chips) The car went to the body shop and the owner told me how surprised he was that it had never had the front end painted. The end result was nothing short of perfect and after a full Mop on the rest of the car it came up gleaming! Got new badges for the car too now the car in my eyes was pretty mint July 2018: My car was displayed at Waxstock and the car went away a week before to be fully valeted and detailed August 2018: Since playing Gran Turismo as a kid I'd always wanted to visit the nurburgring and drive a fast car round it, now was the perfect opportunity. me and a mate set a date and off we went, what a place, what a blast. My 1st time on a proper track was brilliant, didn't set a time as I was to worried about binning my pride and joy but I still had an amazing time on the ring and around the autobahns December 2018: The supra is featured in another mag, this time its Japanese performance magazine January 2019: My Supra goes into the forum Supra calendar February 2019: The Parallel Pomeroy Trophy, a very cool day out where a ton of old toyotas competed against eachother May 2019: My car is picked for a film review against the new mk5 supra, I had to take the car to Longcross studios for a day of filming https://www.instagram.com/p/BzOtLx8n_S4/?utm_medium=copy_link August 2019: Another photoshoot for OhSoRetro magazine January 2020: Goblin works garage use some footage of my supra on part of their supra episode where they made branners goblin supra February 2021: My Supra is used by carwow for filming against new mk5 supra 2l and 3l And again it's filmed against a celica gt4 and new yaris GR, I think she would have done better against them if mat had not had the car in overdrive pulling off each time really slowly March 2021: After many years of wanting to restore the underside of one of my cars I decided it was time to do the Supra, I shopped around and spent a small fortune on new parts for the underside, I enlisted Paul cheshire of PCheshire Automotive to do the work and his work is 99% complete, theres a serious amount of work that's gone into the underside resto and il add all the work that's been done as soon as I get the car back, but for now here's a peak of the rear about 90% complete That's it for now
  5. Cheers, il drop them an email and see what they say, fingers crossed
  6. I never had one and tbh I didn't even know it existed till you just said lol. damn it you're right there's not a single one that I can see for sale. These are the only 4 I have on the car, looks like I have a unicorn part to find lol
  7. Will definitely be making a point about how rare the GZ's are when I talk to the insurance cheers guys, cracking info there
  8. Latest reply ever.. lol, cheers for recommendations lads, I've got a ton of reciepts for the recent work so will be aiming for 35k once I get round to it. Cars nearly done now just waiting for new coolant pipes, exhaust and a few little finishing touches underneath can't wait to get it back and go for a proper drive
  9. There's a lad running 618bhp through a CW smic, definitely good enough for a small single
  10. Cheers, if I ever sell il get in contact. yep it's never what you budgeted for is it everyone said allow for 5 figures and abit ontop and I laughed, im not laughing anymore
  11. I will let you all know when I've got it agreed
  12. Ah ok, so here in England it was just 1 spec (tt auto or 6) Did america get different grades?
  13. Wow, is that world wide or jdm Market?
  14. Sorry didn't see this, wow didn't realise it was quite as rare as it is, thanks very much
  15. Mines just a GZ, not a gz aero. Anyone know the specs on overall GZ production?
  16. Just after a bit of help on what I should value my supra at? Its currently coming to the end of its underside resto which has seen the car fully stripped underneath, old underseal removed, re undersealed and absolutely everything replaced for new oem parts or refurbed if its discontinued or unable to be purchased. The car is a 1993 tt auto GZ, 58k on the clock, red, stock body and bpu. Currently on an agreed value of 22k which sky insurance refused to increase mid contract (no idea why) I'd rate the condition as 9.5/10 Any ideas what I should be aiming for in this current market? Cheers
  17. This is heartbreaking, what exactly did your 15k get you? I can see a few bolts that look as if they have been blasted but not much else? You're the 3rd person now that I know of that has been turned over by this so called "enthusiast" How can someone just return a shell a year and a half later. Disgusting behaviour. If someone starts a go fund me il donate some cash towards the people that have been affected by this individual, maybe with enough support from the supra community and if its shared across enough social platforms we could collectively help to get those affected back on the road and enjoying supra ownership
  18. I believe he has closed up shop and disappeared fingers crossed u get it back bud
  19. Hi guys For sale is my tanabe touring medallion exhaust with oval tip and a boost activated cutout for turbo models (exhaust has a straight pipe valve midway down the exhaust, basically connect the butterfly valve with a line to somewhere on the boost gauge air line or a line from the intake and once a certain psi is achieved the exhaust opens the flap and you have a straight pipe) I believe the spring is rated at 1 bar of boost so under 1 bar (cruising) the exhaust is stock and over 1 bar it opens up. I haven't got any pics yet as it's only just been taken off the car but will have some Monday. Been told it also has a small hole on the exhaust but not sure where yet until I get confirmation on Monday. Lovely exhaust, condition 7/10 PRICE £350 ono. pick up only from Bedford or Aylesbury (I cant be bothered to package and send it, could possibly deliver for a small fee if under 50 miles) Stock photo for reference
  20. Yep new ones are around £100 or £60 odd on amayama.com with delivery not included, then you could probably get 50 for your used one
