  1. I figured I should start up a thread as I've had a few people asking me what the latest is on progress with my car. The car is a 1996 Facelift Gunmetal six speed and it came from the factory with some nice additions like the UK spec brakes, torsen diff, Recaro reclining bucket seats, and TRD sideskirts and spats. I've had the car for approx six years and have come close to selling it a couple of times (house deposit, always working abroad etc) but fortunately I never actually had to get rid of it. Up until now the car was making great power out of a pair of Turbo Technics replacement turbochargers at a BPU level with a full decat, Nur Spec R, walbro pump, K&N panel filter, ducted front mount intercooler, HKS DLI and a few other bits and bobs. In terms of performance it would outpull an RS4/6, SL55AMG from 50mph+ and the only thing I've stumbled across that was faster (bearing in mind I'm not into street racing so I haven't raced a lot of exotic machinery) was a lovely Gallardo Superleggera. As you all know, that kind of performnace soon seems normal and it's easy to want more. I've been wanting to build up a single kit of my own and spend some time getting it all up together to the exact spec I want with no compromises for quite some time and I've now managed to kid myself into thinking I have time to finally get the single turbo installation completed.....Finally I will have my single Supra! A few of you have seen the car and one or two have driven it but for the benefit of those who haven't seen it (and are interested) I've attached a few pics. The basic spec will be as follows: Precision 6776 DBB turbo (67mm DBB) Gas flowed cast iron manifold Four inch downpipe and midpipe Tial 44mm wastegate Recirculated wastegate outlet Solaris S6 ecu Bosch 044 pump Bosch EV14 900cc injectors Dual feed high flow rail and Aeromotive regulator Aquamist 3D mappable water injection Front mount intercooler etc etc There are lots of custom made parts being used and I'll just let these unfold as the thread progresses. I'lll keep things updated as much as possible and try to add plenty pics as I know everyone like photos! I'd like to take this opportunity thank the people who are helping out on the install when needed and especially for those who are helping with the fabrication and work on all the custom parts. Thanks very much guys....greatly appreciated Right now the car is laid up, stock turbos are off and I'm in the process of fabbing up a few key parts like the downpipe and intercooler piping..... Part of me thinks it's a shame to spoil the existing engine bay and a shame to remove such a nice working setup but I guess that's the price of progress! Engine Bay My Custom “Turbo Kit” (no ceramic coating yet though) Rolling Road Results So Far Modified Cast Manifold T6776DBB Turbo Mock up of general turbo side parts (before welding wastegate parts) Intercooler and Intake Pipes The Ceramic Coated Turbo/Exhaust Parts Custom Bosch 044 Pump Setup
  2. I'll take them as long as they're not damaged. PM me how you want paying.
  3. I'm interested in the intercooler core.
  4. I might be interested, mainly for the female one for my better half. Do you have any more details like models/colour/sizes etc?
  5. Interesting info Stuart. I'm picking up my 0.68 and 0.81 housings in the morning so will check the numbers. I know my 0.81 is correct but need to confirm the 0.68 is also correct. If my 0.68 is the wrong size I'll take this one off you.
  6. Is that a vvti one Mig or a Jap spec drop in of some other size? As long as it's the same lug pattern as an OEM J spec one then it is perfect.
  7. I tried the guide but that doesn't help as it only shows the 550s. Come on then Homer...show me your wares
  8. That would be very helpful Homer Are the injectors' connector parts identical to jap specs?
  9. No Rob - I'm looking to have some adaptors made up to go from the OEM injector connector (for Jap Spec cars) to an EV14 injector like the one shown here. I need to show the supplier how the 440 injector connector differs to that of the 550 US style.
  10. Does anyone have, or could anyone take, a photo of the electrical connector part of a grey 440 Jap spec injector please? A photo into the connector on the injector loom would also suffice. Many thanks in advance Dan
  11. How did you hit that 10.79 at just under 1.6bar?
  12. Road fuel as in Optimax or Super Unleaded...nice going!
  13. Nice pics....nice motors too chaps.
  14. No sweat mate don't worry. I've just bought a relatively quiet exhaust so it might end up being surplus to requirements - will let you know. Let me know how much postage is on the tools
  15. To be honest Paul i think it would be a good idea to have the right tooling for this job. If you don't mind lending me it then I'd really appreciate it. You fancy sending it to same address as QTP instructions (thanks - arrived today) - I can wait a little depending on strike but I'd defo send it recorded/insured to be safe.
  16. No - the pulley was swapped for a Boostlogic one about 600miles ago and the crank nose looked in good shape so I'm hoping there won't be any insurmountable "pulling" issues. It's breaking and then retorquing it that is bothering me.
  17. Ah right - good point, balls! I could always get it all off with the starter method and then use the tool for assembly some time after the weekend. In fact the brake method may be better as I have no rad/exh manifolds or anything so a quick blurt on the starter could be a little messy. Is a long bar, in gear, foot on brake likely to work ok? Is this the puller you mentioned Michel: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cht223-46-pce-harmonic-balance-puller
  18. Ah yes - fastening it back up properly would be what would catch me out with the starter method. I'll have a quick look in Machinemart now....I may take you up on your offer though Mig. Do you reckon you could have it to me by Friday?
  19. Aha - that doesn't sound toooo bad. I was worried about the starter method onto the ground as the car is on stands/blocks...could be interesting Onto the chassis leg sounds a little more sensible. Is this a common "enthusiasts" method?
  20. Does anyone have one that I could borrow please? Cheers Dan
  21. Jamie - that is brilliant mate, well done. I was a bit suprised to see the speed at 126 and was expecting 135+ with that time but I guess the pulled timing explains that. All the more credit to the launch/driving for hitting a 10.93 time! Well done mate.
