  1. Nice job, the gunmetal kind of colour looks good - get some photos of the inside if you can please mate. I like powder coaters.....Imagine how much you'd have paid to have it machined and then prepped and sprayed by a bodywork place
  2. Matt, Could you drop me a pm about the in-tank bit of loom to the fuel pump please? I am ideally after a fresh unadulterated one that hasn't been chopped about and John seemed to thnk this one would fit the bill. Could you let me know please? Cheers Dan
  3. How come the engine is coming out Wayne? Did I miss a thread somewhere about more changes?
  4. I still need to assemble the hoses for the breather system and that is a mixture of Earl's and Speedflow parts. The Speedflow ones appear to be good quality too but I'll let you know how the assembly goes. The Red Horse ones definitely seem easier to put together (probably because the anodizing is smoother on the threads, the threads are much finer and for a given fitting size there is about double the thread length inside) Not 100% sure yet Mark. Probably in the region of 3.5bar static but I need to do some research on the optimum pressure range for the injectors and check how low that pressure can go for good atomisation. Cheers Kev - I'm getting there now and it's mostly smaller jobs that need doing at this point rather than the big fabrication and assembly. I'm on holiday next week which will slow thngs up a little but we'll see...
  5. Check my signature and click the link....
  6. I had Turbo Technics turbochargers on my car for over five years and around 40,000miles and they were excellent. I took them off for a chance to a 67mm single
  7. Looking good mate but where'd the lively looking green accent pieces go?? Change of heart on the green?
  8. If MG managed to suss out the cooling properties of sodium filled valves in their turbo A series'd Metro then I'd hope Toyota would be at least on a par! p.s. I haven't forgotten about suspension kit...I'm just getting the single kit installed first so I'll be in touch once I have the car back on the road.
  9. I spent yesterday evening making up the fuel lines that run from the filter to the FIC rail and then from the rail to the Aeromotive regulator. Next step will be to get these pressure tested. The only one left to do at this end of the car is a return line from the regulator to the stock return hardpipe. I ended up using a combination of Red Horse fitings (for the 90 degree pieces) and Earl's Anotuff for the straight and 45 degree fittings. I have always used Earl's parts in the past and I only changed to the Red Horse ones as I could not get Earls parts in time. I was very impressed with the quality of the Red Horse parts. All of the corners on the fittings are deburred very well, the surface finish is extremely smooth and the anodizing seems thicker, harder and shows up as a much deeper colour than the Earl's parts. I will still use Earl's fittings but certainly have no reservations about these Red Horse ones as the quality is excellent. Red Horse 90 Degree Fitting Earl's 45 Degree Fitting Speedflow Adaptor
  10. The garage needed a touch of colour!
  11. I have a TRD brace in almost perfect condition that I'd be willing to part ex for a new one in 100% perfect condition.
  12. Sorry to hear you had to resort to this Christian. Best of luck selling everything.
  13. Awesome mate - I bet you can't wait. What sort of boost are you planning on running?
  14. In tank fuel pump loom available by any chance?
  15. I think that is the plan but that is what is actually causing Lee a problem. With the compressor housing oriented for the "down and under" IC piping, it hits the manifold.
  16. Nice pics Ken - thanks for posting up. On the black car - is that a different brake master cylinder to the original OEM one or am I just imagining things? Edit - I think I'm just used to seeing the RHD drive ones that look a little different!
  17. So....onto today's efforts....well, it's no longer running The original throttle body, plenum and runners were taken off today along with the injectors, fuel feed line, pulsation dampener and the first part of the fuel return line. Everything stripped off.... Trial fitting of the newer stuff and the FIC fuel rail (with dummy injectors)... I also fitted the Aeromotive FPR on a custom bracket I made up... Obviously no project thread is complete without the ubiquitous socket extension shot This was what I used for one of the pulsation dampener bolts because I was tired of reaching down in beside the block time after time...especially as the car is about 18" up in the air!
  18. Cheers fellas. I was going to paint them myself (along with the intercooler pipes) but powdercoating was actually less effort for me anyway so I went with that instead.
  19. Looks very similar to my engine bay right now I am very interested to see how things go on the dyno with the exhaust comparison. I have a new stainless exhaust that looks identical to a Tanabe and I am a little concerned it may reel in the top end a bit so I too will be doing a back to back on the rollers Is this latest list of mods going to incluse the cam swap as well Jamie? Edit: What's the reason for the electric fans? Is it to make the engine bay look neater or something like that?
  20. What do you fellas do about getting it done back up to the right torque?
  21. You'll probably like these then....back from the powdercoaters. I need to refit the baffles into these and they can be fitted when I swap the intake parts over.
  22. Excellent. Plenum and runners are due for a trip to the powder coaters but I'm still deciding on the throttle body. I'm not 100% sure about colour yet....most likely a shade of gunmetal grey or black as I want it as understated and OEM looking as possible. I already have the cam covers ready to fit and they are black. I was planning on going with mostly black on the aluminium items and relying on things like the spark plug cover, TRD brace, compressor housing etc to break up the blackness to keep people like Paul Mac happy I do like the black colour on engine parts as it's easy to keep clean, easy to touch up with a spot of paint if it gets damaged and....it is quick to get done at the powder coaters as they are always doing black parts!
