  1. I also bought a second thermal gasket. I had one for the runner/head face but I wanted another for the runner/plenum face. This was is from Ferriday Engineering and I had it made undersize so I could match it 100% to the runners and the plenum for a smooth transition from one to the other. This matching took quite a while! Undersize: Roughing out the gasket to match one face at a time: Ready to roll:
  2. This was also created over the weekend in between messing around with the car stuff....a bit of respite from the garage!
  3. This is the 35 series MAC valve I'm using for the Solaris controlled boost system. I believe this is identical to the AEM unit. I made up a bracket to mount it near the alternator/chassis rail area. I hate seeing them hanging loose in the engine bay so after a bit of trial fitting, I decided this was as good a spot as any....easily mounted and away from the exhaust heat (it may even fit in the airbox in this position but I'll have to wait to confirm that). Shortly after the last pic I realized I had actually damaged the dash 4 fitting and that's why it looks a little odd. Luckily I had a spare so it looks and seals fine now. All I am waiting for now is the silencer/filter for the no. 3 port on the MAC valve.
  4. Cam cover baffles refitted to the freshly powdercoated cam covers with new seals....I used M5 cap head screws to replace the OEM rivets. Ready to fit...
  5. Seems a damn shame not to fit it..........but nevermind, can't do it all in one go!
  6. John, Did you get my emails? Could you let me know if you are interested or not please mate as I'm going to need this tank made pretty quick to meet my booked slot for mapping. I may have to look at getting it made elsewhere if you may not be able to do it... Cheers Dan
  7. If they are perfect I'll take them. Is there any damage/deterioration near the handle area you use to pull the door shut from inside?
  8. Does anyone have any Aquamist jets they want to sell? I have 0.7 - 1.0mm jets but I suspect they will be way too big to use for a twin jet install as the 0.7mm flows 270cc/min on its own! I reckon I need a 0.4 and a 0.6 but if anyone has a 0.5mm I would consider that too. My plan was to run a dedicated tank in the boot but I think for now (in the name of getting things setup in a sensible time frame) I will run off the washer tank. Once the car is back on the road I may revert to my original plan of a rear mounted tank and booster pump... Cheers Dan
  9. That thought would have crossed my mind more than once too.
  10. Ah ok gotcha. I didn't realize mapping was only later.
  11. Nice one Darryl Assuming I hit no major hitches and my "99% maybe" is a "definite" I'd like an early slot if that is possible please?
  12. This arrived today too along with some of the smaller hardware pieces: I won't be fitting this in the near future but they don't seem to come up for sale very often so I felt obliged to buy it If it was a simple bolt on affair then I'd get it on but right now I don't have time for all the relocation work (battery, power steering reservoir, fuse box etc) plus fabbing up some new pipes for the cold side intercooler routing. The car will be run on Surrey Rolling Road with my modified plenum and then I hope to do a comparison to this Greddy one sometime in 2010 when I have some more time on my hands. However, if the car produces the torque curve I'm expecting then I may just sell this on at some point and save the hassle. It sure would look good though
  13. I just stuck a pic in my project thread. I think Paul Mac sourced it for me and from memory it came from Australia or NZ.
  14. Ok well I have a few small updates to post up - mainly due to a week away on holiday holding up progress I have the lower runners back from the powder coaters and these are now 99% ready to fit. I had both faces machined flat as one was slightly curved - possibly from the welding but can't be sure....they're definitely flat now though I gave the internals a mild clean up mainly due remove casting flash and achieve a much smoother overall finish. Now I need my second thermal gasket to come so I can match the plenum/runner faces to the gasket and fit it. I should have the plenum and throttle body back from the powder coater tday so I can start reassembling those ready to fit. The fuel lines pressure tested fine with no problems at all so they are ready to fit. I also have a new fuel filter ready to fit so all the fuelling install should come together nicely. The line from the filter to the tank is staying stock but from the filter forward it's all new and anything in the tank is new too (especially seen as I managed to track down the Gates SAE30-R10 submersible hose!!) Here's a shot of the one way valve I mentioned in another thread (not my picture though). This replaces the Bosch valve and negates the need to use a banjo fitting. I'll have some more detailed pictures of this posted up once the pump is fitted to the new hanger: New OEM dual mass flywheel and RPS clutch are fitted with all new bearings, bolts, hub, fork, spacer, shim spring etc etc etc: Solid AP Engineering shifter mounts fitted:
  15. Anyone here work for British Airways by any chance in anything related to flights/tickets/membership etc? Cheers Dan
  16. Just sent you another email John....could you let me know whether or not you got them both please?
  17. Does that use a stock oil pressure sensor Ryan or something aftermarket?
  18. It's the 5/16" Gates stuff but Universal Automotive were of no help at all. They told me that they no longer stock or source Gates products despite the fact they keep getting people referred to them via Gates...maybe they were lying as they didn't like me! No problem at all Christian. PM me your address when you get a few mins spare and then I'll give you a shout once I have the hose inmy hand (hopefully just under two weeks time).
  19. I bought a custom one way valve that allows the use of an AN/JIC fitting in the tank. I'll get a few pics up in my project thread when I get a few mins.
  20. Spot on When do you think it will be ready for mapping?
  21. My maybe is a 99% and relies on me finishing the mechanicals and Ryan doing some minor electrical work and the mapping.
